I arrived early as requested and waited for opening. I spent sometime out side the front door for about 5 min and several employees passed me and not a single one acknowledged me with as little as a good morning. Even if I tried to speak to any of them they would probably not heard me as they all had earbuds in. When I checked-out I ask about the 50 $credit that I should have received due to the first location not having my reserved equipment, I was told this would be automatic when the rental was returned and charges are finalized. I ask the Andreson and Hazel Dell locations and received the same answer. I has been 3 business days and then has not been a credit to my card that was used and then was not a reduction in the charge to the card either. Currently on hold with uhaul for 25 min now for a wait time that was estimated for 5-10 min.DANIEL JOSEPH G.

I cannot describe how you basically saved my life by allowing me several extension on my rental. As far as the storage goes when I leave in the storage unit well you know you never know if you'll be back to get it the only take the things that I need and leave the rest you're somebody else that needs it now make sure that I leave the key in town so that I can donate items out of my storage lock up while I'm out of town. I pray that other follow and that the storage or people don't maybe killing this year off of everybody not to say that I wouldn't buy a few hundred. Not to say that I wouldn't Buy budget storage units cuz I would not to say that I wouldn't buy a bunch of storage units cuz I would and I probably will but I'll could do charitable service in donating itdouglas V. | Premières impressions

We rented an open trailer along with a 10x10 truck. They had a closed trailer hooked up, then told us there wasn't an I Open trailer available. The nearest one was 45 miles in the opposite direction. Now we have to make another trip. The items there were intended to be in the open trailer we left behind. The trip is 7 hours away.....major problem. The attendants at the site were nice about it, it wasn't their fault.Angela E.

It's no the truck was filthy. It had so many bugs on the windshield that you couldn't hardly see out of it. Truck had trash in the cab along with some cigarette butts. Then later I found that the inside duel tire was TOTALLY bald. How was that missed on so many inspections by UhaulJohn A.

Employee who connected trailer to my truck didn't tighten knob that latches trailer to ball. I moved a toolbox with tool valued at over 100k. It's a good thing he took pictures after hooking it up because it proved this was u-haul's fault. I got very lucky that the trailer stayed on while loaded. Trailer did come disconnected while on the freeway it did not damage my truck. But also the emergency brakes didn't work. Trailer was dragged about eighth mile. It was a bad situation that if I had a smaller truck would have been very very bad. What shocked me the most was when I confronted the employee first thing was said "is there any damage to the trailer". Not are you okay or is any body hurt. I should have never been charged for this and this is not acceptable business practices. I would like to receive a response about this.MATTHEW P.

Pickup Truck, Had it for 64min, Drove 8 miles. Put in 1 gallon of gas. After return they tacked on 15 $for 4 gallons of gas. Liars :( It's only 15 dollars but it's a lie. Not worth the time or stress trying to fight for 15 $but just be warned. There is no physical way that an 8 mile with perhaps 17min of driving time needed 5 gallons of gas.Kristopher K.

Please update the website. My original reservation was to pick up in Battle Ground, which is 3 miles from my house and wouldn't have required me to leave my car at the location (I could have ridden my bike). I originally wanted the vehicle for a couple of days. After I made my reservation for the Battle Ground location I got a call informing me that the Battle Ground location didn't actually have pickups and I needed to go to Hazel Dell instead. This resulted in 1) adding 20 round-trip miles to my rental due to the location difference; 2) having to compress my weekend's work into a single day. My original reservation was 3 days because it was biking distance and I'd still have my car; the new reservation meant leaving my car in Hazel Dell overnight, which I wasn't going to do. I ended up not being able to finish everything I had hoped to do. Your website shouldn't allow customers to choose a location that doesn't meet the specific vehicle requirements.EUGENIA A.

Provide trailer measurements, particularly width, based on true size of opening. For example, 5X9 implies the width is 60 inches. In fact, it's barely 52 inches in the case of an open trailer and only 48 inches in the case of a covered one. Not good if you want to haul a true 50 inch wide mower.SALVADOR M.

I've rented from several locations around the Clark county and Portland metro areas, due to my work and to their credit, they're all very good. But the Hazel Dell/ Salmon creek office on Hwy 99 in Vancouver, WA has their shiznit together! Very well organized snd smooth running, everyone seems crossed trained and can handle the desk. It says drop off at any location. My husband dropped it off at a U-haul location and put the key in the box. Then he got told he cant drop it off there but he cant get to the key in the drop box. So I got charged 400$ for them to get the truck 0,9 miles away! When they were told we cant get the key out of the drop box.Dylan Z.

Scrap mobile equipment pickup, IT'S A DISASTER. Aside from the pickup that was nearly bad enough to make me abandon the rental, I had a great experience with the vehicle and location staff. But if I had known that I had to provide the phone number of someone who has nothing to do with my move, for you to actually call them before I could get the equipment, I would have skipped it. If I had known that the mobile check-out process would take three times as long as when I've checked out in person, I would have skipped it. If I had known that I would get a bunch of error messages in the process before it finally crashed and I would have to go inside to get help anyway? Or that I would have to go in to get the keys anyway, and "skipping the line" just means finding an awkward place to wait to get someone's attention in a crowded store that doesn't have anywhere to organize a line? You know what I would have done. Going inside with half-completed mobile check-out that errored out was worse than doing the whole thing in person, because the employee wasn't sure what they needed to do to finish it.Erin O.

called up to rent a storage unit for a 5' wide habitat that I got from work as well as a 1500 sq foot home and we went through 3 units (Not one time did they check the doors for proper access for me) assured me that each one that the habitat that I got would " FIT JUST FINE" so I unloaded the stupid thing trusting them at their word that it would fit ... it did not I was less than impressed, and due to the problems with the rental unit I had to leave the Habitat in the back of one of the rental box trucks (of which I was assured that I would only be charged one day because of all the hassles) I got charged for the full time (not just one day) and they never bothered to cancel my storage unit that I obviously would NOT be using since I couldn't get anything through the doors ... I love the 24 hour access & climate control for my electronics and paintings I typically work all day so everything else is usually after 10pm I love all the cameras they make me feel like my stuff is safe.... This is the worst uhaul facility I have ever experienced. Phones are rarely answered, you get the worst service from this place. Employees are rude. I rented a 19,95 $ truck, for a day only to find out it was for only 12 hours and the employee who rented it to me failed to tell me it had to be back by 8am the next morning and when I turned in the truck after I filled the gas tank which was not full to begin with, but the vehicle is parked on a slant so it appears the tank is full when it is not. My access was to be until 10 pm. I had moved quite a ways away and was trying to move out. I came in on a Sunday right at office closing (5pm) and my card wouldn't let me get in. I went to the office and the girl was rude saying they're closed and brushed me off. I said I have access until 10pm, even says so on my app. She just repeated "we're closed" I went BSCK to the storage facility as 2 employees were walking away, I asked for assistance and they flat out ignored me. Turned around and looked, then kept walking away. Luckily another guy came. He spoke with me a moment, looked at my app to see the time I had access, and fixed it from his phone. Impossible to call location office. Check in and out is annoying and does not help the security. Random people were in and out often without sliding a card. We've used this location in the past for truck rentals and then our storage unit but times made it to where funds needed to saved and so we have had to squeeze stuff here at home but in the future I know where to go if we need storage again. The staff were professional and polite. However, I was not aware that you required extra phone numbers etc for the registration. As I had left my phone in the car and it was pouring rain I did not want to go retrieve it. I had no choice. It would be extremely nice if a FULL accounting of required information was listed in order to avoid confusion. Also, the 10x10 unit assigned to me already had a lock on it. The very first day in their parking lot I got a flat tire because there was a CRACK PIPE and it popped my tire-on hand manager was not helpful AT ALL. I asked her to input automatic payments so I didn't have to think about the bill-she did not and I got a 20 $late fee I didn't even know about. I went in around Early December and my container was locked and I couldn't access the building-had to walk to the office three different times and the boy there was not helpful-rude and when he finally went to unlock my storage after I had to walk back a fourth time he then apologized to my male friend who was there to help me unload AND NOT TO ME who's name is on the storage, I used my card to pay and HE SPOKE TO THE MALE FRIEND LIKE HE RENTED THE LOCKER. Apologized to HIM for wasting HIS time-and not to I who had to walk back and fourth and deal with this bulls$!t. 0/10 I didn't have a pleasant experience any time I went to this facility. I chose this site due to its closeness to the freeway (when I moved to Vancouver). The service I received greatly depended on who I talked to (either on the phone or in person). I had used U-Haul Storage before in another city and had great experiences there, so I thought that it would be similar here, but I was mistaken. I realize that the staff were more than likely overwhelmed with a lot of customers, but a little bit of niceness would have helped a lot. I was not able to move in the day that I wanted to move in because my card did not work and then the next day I went to move in and they said they were closed at 8:00 and the gate closes at 10:00 and they said no that was wrong so I did not get to move in the second day the third day I did get to move in but I was told I owed them money and I was supposed to get a free month I don't know what happened I decided at that point I'm moving everything out because one it was on the second floor split level had to walk upstairs I am disabled cannot walk upstairs so I said forget it and moved out I am trying to get my money back for my month of insurance but I cannot figure out who to contact on that so I will be going to U-Haul tomorrow and asking them who to talk to.. just make sure you're not in a hurry because if you are it won't matter they are very short staffed and nobody knows what's going on in the buildings good luck.Kim T. | Online Move In
I never would have thought I'd be crying out of frustration at a U-Haul until yesterday. I spent 3 hours here moving a 5x8 trailer load into a storage unit. This location is severely understaffed, most employees are not trained in all departments, and the technology is slow. I arrived and rented a 5x5' unit, which went smoothly for the most part. When we got most of our stuff down to the unit, we realized it was going to be too small. I went back to the office to upgrade to a larger size, had to wait about 45 min for a staff member who was knowledgable enough to help me. The "only employee who knows storage" (their words) was outside filling propane tanks and a line of other customers were assisted inside while I waited for her. Finally, another employee came and helped upgrade us into another unit. Great, ran back to the storage facility to help my partner move our stuff down the hall to that new unit. Only problem, the new unit was actually already taken by someone else. I went to the intercom system and asked why they sent me to an already occupied unit. Someone said they'd be down "in a minute" to help. Twenty minutes goes by, haven't seen anyone. I call back again and asked if they had meant this other unit that had the same numbers, just in a different order. They said yes and they'd be down "in a minute" to get me a new key. A man came and brought me my third key of the day and told me "if you need help, just use the intercom, since you know how to use it now". Except this time, the key didn't work. I hadn't waited for the other two keys to activate but now this key needed "5 to 10 minutes" to activate. At this point, 2 hours into being at U-Haul, you'd think a manager could override the system, just let me inside and get me to the correct unit? I've been waiting around all day, every time I asked for help someone was going to be "right there" or "in a minute". It was never that quick. My experience here was surprisingly poor. Some of the employees are nice but it doesn't make up for lack of training and staff. I believe that the employees mean well, but they do not have a great understanding of how to prioritize customers, or are too busy, I'm not sure. My issue could have been resolved in 5 minutes if the sole employee with storage knowledge came inside and helped me. I understand there were people waiting to get propane tanks filled, but my issue could have been resolved quickly with her help. Getting through a whole line of new customers, while I was waiting inside for help, does not make sense to me. I would prioritize fixing the issue with the customer that was here first. I would not be leaving this review if things had gone that way. No hard feelings, I think it's a difficult time for everyone, I am just disappointed in my experience here. I got a storage unit because I was evacuating for the fire. When I got to your facility I was told I could not start storing thing because they were closing soon and the card reader wasn't registering new cards. I did get a free night and mileage on the Uhaul truck, but I had to drive 45 minutes towards the house that I was evacuating and I had to worry about all of my belongings and a Uhual truck. My move in was not a good experience. The staff was amazing and helpful but my key card did not work and the system was not communicating so there was not any way to fix it. This card issue created major difficulty because we had hired movers to help us. They were paid by the hour and had to wait for other movers at the facility to let us in. Luckily someone else was moving in so they would help us by using their key card. The staff said it would work in about 15 minutes, but it didn't. I used the intercom at 15 minutes and they said to give it more time. At 30 minutes I tried to call them again and it was not answered. Finally, after an hour I tried again and they answered and although my key card still didn't work they were able to set the doors so that they would open when we walked up to it. The facility seemed secure. However, other renters would leave their belongings in walkways and loading areas forcing us to ask them to make a path or move their stuff. The staff should monitor loading areas to ensure everyone is safe and room for all to load and unload. The staff at this Uhaul are nice in person, but do not follow up on verbal commitments. 1. We were verbally told one price, but charged 30 $more for our unit. The manager, Matt, did nothing except offer to let us move out. 2. Upon closing one unit, the employee committed to emailing us a receipt and closing document. It didn't happen and we were charged for the next month. Another complaint is when a couple rents multiple units, an access card should be given to each. We were told this is not possible with your system.
