The truck was parked under a billboard and evidently there are a lot of birds on that billboard. The truck was covered in shit. It was all over the side of the truck and therefore all over my jacket when I had to lean into the bed to load it. The bed, fenders and hood was covered as well. It was disgusting and I will NEVER rent from this facility again.

The young lady who helped me was wonderful, helpful, cheerful a credit to U-Haul. !!! The short box van needs to be retired as a possible hazard on the street. I would hate to have set off on a long distance move with that relic. It was amazingly easy to drive as the front end just took over and wondered to and fro on it's own as we wobbled along..,....

I would never recommend U-Haul to any mover. The policies of uncertain reserved equipment/trucks and disappearing reserved storage units, with no customer notification, make for a horrendous moving experience. I'll hire private movers in the future.

The door pull strap was missing. I asked the front desk employee how to close the door. He explained there a handle. I the. Asked the second employee outside and he said you have to reach up inside the roll up area that was bent from damage and put his arm up inside to pull the door down. I said this is not safe. His response was welcome to Seattle. I was unable to get the gate closed for over 20 minutes as my movers felt it was unsafe to reach into the retractable gate up I sed and said they felt metal bent inside. When I returned it I explained this to the same guy who rented me the truck. He said that's how it is and some lame excuse from Christmas. Horrible with the worst customer service and cost me money as it was impossible to close the gate the first time.

Car had not been cleaned out and was hastily wiped down prior to me getting into it. Also was only given 1/8th a tank of gas to start with… feels incredibly low & not much time to get to a gas station.

The customer service member was borderline rude. The vehicle I rented had woodchips in the back and I was not supplied with the 6 moving blankets I requested. When the mileage was different in the van than what was in the app I tried correcting it and was not able to upload a picture to account for this discrepancy. Overall an okay experience. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to this location.

The tires were Healy bald in center and severely cupped on edges, but only trailer available. I called the 1-800 number and the tire crew came out to replace both tires. Seems like this could have been more proactive repair.

The person who helped us today was amazing. He was friendly and funny. He didn't wear a mask though and I was worried for his safety. But other than that he was really great.

Adam was an absolute trooper-he was there in the morning when I picked up and there at night when I dropped off all by himself. He showed high levels of customer service in supporting everyone, including me, to ensure that I got the services that we needed in an efficient manner. I don't know how well staffed they are normally, but overall I would definitely recommend this location-just make sure to reserve in advance.

easy, peasy, and the pick-up staff person as well as the drop-off person the next morning were personable and laid back. the location is convenient to several different storage units with easy access to Ballard, Downtown, Freemont and Queen Anne and is easier to get to via public transporation before/after drop off thanks to RapidRide bus lines than other locations in Sodo, which were technicalky closer to me. This was my second event free experience over my years here in Seattle and much more timely abd stress free than a much larger Uhaul facility ive used South of Capital Hill.

The truck was clean the windshield was not. The workers in the store we're not wearing masks when I arrived but did put the masks on when I asked them to. As I was getting the rental set up some other workers came in without masks at all I had to ask them to put their masks on and one of them was a bit snarky about it. That same worker was there when I dropped off the key, he was not wearing a mask at all he did not even have one around his neck. I had to ask him to come outside so that I could give him the key. I then watched him get into the van to clean it with no mask on. So I guess that means that I got into a vehicle that had been cleaned by somebody who doesn't have a very good understanding about how viruses work, or just doesn't care. I did try to reach management but apparently the manager is not there right now.

Your computer system was down. My reservation was for 10:30. It was 12:20 before I was able to leave. For almost two hours your employees could not help the many customers waiting. All but one employee wanted to call a manager. The one employee who didn't was screaming at the others not to call the manager under any circumstances. Swearing, etc.

A computer issue rendered these good folks unable to do -anything- for an hour, while I stood there. The workers there were obviously stressed but also handled the situation perfectly, communicating with customers as to the issue and expected wait times, and maintaining a cheery attitude throughout, and tirelessly trying different computer/mobile attempts to contact the server until it started working again. However, these good employees should not have to deal with computer outages like this in 2021, please invest in your computer infrastructure as well as implement offline solutions to keep people moving in the event of a failure in the future.

I purchased a storage unit online the day of move-in. When I got to the unit, after office hours but during access hours, my unit had a lock on it that was from the U-Haul office. This lock, and any instructions about the lock were not mentioned at all in the materials I received when purchasing the unit. I was on the phone with customer service for 40 minutes with 3 different agents, all of whom said the lock was not supposed to be there. None of them could help me get into the unit or transfer to a different unit. I ended up having to leave and come back the next morning which was an extreme inconvenience for me and my friends helping me move. Come to find out, this particular U-Haul location started putting locks on their units because of a recent break in, so you have to come in person during office hours to get the lock removed and get a special key card. None of this was mentioned during the online purchase, there's obviously a major communication problem between corporate and individual locations, and unfortunately the customers have to pay the price for that. Not dealing with U-Haul again if I can help it, don't want to take the chance on another blunder

We reserved a cargo van online. It was ready to go when we called for it, and received exceptional attention from the staff. Returning the van was quick and painless. The van itself, BE1007F, AK25489-AZ, was a pleasure to drive and satisfied our requirements completely.

The staff was actually quite friendly and quick, a major improvement from the last time I was at this location (2 yrs ago). I will say it was very inconvenient that the key drop box was unavailable. After speaking with a customer service rep from the corporate number who approved the truck extension, and directed us to just leave the keys in the box if after hours. Well, that was not the case - we had to drive 30 minutes there and back the next morning to return the keys. I realize theft has been bad and the reason for this policy, it was just not communicated whatsoever and ended up being a major inconvenience. I will suggest connecting with corporate so they can note this situation. Also, the property was pretty run down with lots of trash everywhere.

Rented the vehicle online. Website was buggy when checking in. The Capcha is ridiculous please get rid of that. As per usual when I arrived there is always a ridiculous wait due to the problems this location has checking people in. Once rented the equipment worked well, was clean. When returning the vehicle return was quick streamlined and the attendant was courteous.

The driver side windshield wiper was not Making contact on the windshield, making driving in Seattle winter rain a scary experience. I mentioned it to the attendant when I returned the vehicle, he assured me he would have someone fix it.

Uhaul has become increasingly challenging to use. The biggest truck is never available in the seattle area. I would have to drive 30-45 minutes to have one. One then be charged miles to come back to where I need it. I request that you disburse more of the biggest truck you have. Each uhaul location should have a couple and if not have one brought to the location requested if reserved in advance. I'm sure this note will do nothing. I'm frustrated and will try to find another company to rent from in the future.

This location is located in an area so crime ridden that they can't even offer the basic amenities that should come with a u-haul rental (i.e. after hours drop-offs, parking, etc.). The general manager failed to even communicate their inability to accept after hours drop-offs after I explicitly stated that that was my intention. This resulted in me sitting in this sketchy parking lot for 30 minutes at 9pm on hold with customer service trying to figure out what to do with my rental while I had a 3 hour drive back to Portland ahead of me. I'm really not one to go out of my way and leave a review like this but the all around poor communication and service left me extremely unimpressed. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was very helpful though, kudos to him!

The overall rental reservation process was very difficult and frustrating. I had a 20' truck I reserved over a month in advance for the Interbay location, and I was told two days beforehand that I had to go to West Seattle (over 40 minutes away) to pick up my trick. Given that my storage unit was in Interbay, I had to cancel my reservation and switch to a 15' truck. The fact that Uhaul is unable to operate their reservation system with some customer assurance makes for a poor customer experience. Additionally, I had to go back and change my final destination drop-off, since I wasn't given an option through the online interface. I was in no way compensated for all of this inconvenience, so I don't plan to use Uhaul's services in the future unless some improvements are made.

There was water leaking from the garage door into the building all the time. The storage unit was also not true to the size advertised, as there was a beam cutting into the 9x5 space, making the allowable storage space smaller.

You can stress on your website that there is no parking available. There was 2 hour parking nearby. I had to walk back in the pouring rain. My 4 hr rental became a 2 hr rental due to the parking restrictions. Also I was all set to use your mobile options, 95 % of which did not work at all. Your staff person acknowledged they don't work.

I called corporate to extend my pickup and drop off time for my van. It wasn't until I called that number that I found out I wouldn't be able to leave my car at their site while using the van, which meant I had to spend an extra $50 on Lyft rides. When I got to the location the employee was not wearing a mask and said as long as I brought it back by closing the next day I wouldn't be charged extra but that they didn't have after hour drop off, which is not what I was told when I had originally called customer service. The van had to stay overnight in my outdoor parking spot which made me nervous due to possibility of being broken into or stolen. I was able to bring it back 4 or 5 pm, and this time there were 2 employees not wearing masks. The final straw on writing this bad review is that I received a call at 8:30 this morning (the morning after dropping the van off) asking when I'd be dropping my keys off. The employee seemed confused but I had to hang up because I was working so I'm not sure how that was another thing that had gone wrong.

Awful. The policies here changed every time we came to access our storage unit. They would cut our locks and place their own, one time needed to cut their own lock because they lost their key. Was very difficult to get assistance from unhelpful staff.
