Extend the availability for one way return so customer doesn't have to drive back and forth. U haul is big network and it must provide this kind of option.

I reserved a 20ft for a small 4 bedroom house we were moving out of and the day before they called and told me that all they had was a 17ft truck and the morning when i get they my reservation was changed to a 15ft truck! Needless to say i was NOT able to complete my move in 1 trip and with gas as expensive as it is required me to spend so much more. Infuriating experience.

Daniel M.I booked my truck on line. When I got there the web site wouldn't let me pick my van up. So I waited in line, with only 1 customer ahead of me, for 40 minutes. When I got to the front the guy had to go and help someone with a problem. When I sighed and said 'oh no' He turned to me and said "you don't have to wait you know" He then gave me a van that I later found out was assigned to someone else. After I returned the van I got a phone call 2 hours later asking when I was going to return the van! Then I was billed over $500. When I returned to sort it out, the same guy said to me "why you getting upset with me?" I said because you have charged me over 500 bucks for a van. He then said, "I don't have to take this this shit" and he went and got his manager. This guy needs to find a new line of work. Customer service is not his thing. The manager then told me I was being charged $3000 because the van I was driving was assigned to someone else who damaged the van that I was assigned. The manager did sort it all out and was very good, but over all a total shit show. I rent roughly twice a month, but never at this location again!
JOHN H.I understand how things can get overwhelming, especially on your busiest days. However, on this day, there was a long time with no one at the desk for an extended period of time. I waited for over an hour, with only 4-5 people ahead of me, before I was helped. I had even received an automated phone call from U-haul (nothing to do w/ this particular location) informing me they will need to cancel my reservation if I don't 'show up' in the next hour. Even though I was at the location. It would be helpful to have communication between the staff and the people waiting. Express that y'all are busy and everyone is doing their best to get things moving on all ends. This would relieve tension on both sides.

Waited for 1/2 longer no keys. Then they gave us another truck same size. Why couldn't they have given us the other truck in the first place? I don't get it
Jane P.The online system (not this location) really needs an update. When I first reserved a truck, it kicked me over to a different location and switched me to a truck that I didnt request. Ultimately I ended up with a reasonably close substitute (17' instead of 20') but when i got the reservation it was unexpectedly switched from a 24 hr rental to a 17 hour rental. This was a major problem as I was only able to transport 1 truckload instead of 2. In summary, please fix your online availability and don't promise vehicles that you can't guarantee will be there.

I wish I was notified and I would have changed it to a van. We waited for over an hour to pick it up. Staff was great, just not enough for the volume of people renting

Closest gas station was a few miles away but was a little nervous without knowing how much gas is in the tank. Also, difficult to return with same amount of gas. Not sure why full tank is not provided but providing a vehicle with an Empty fuel warning light is a bad practice.
Hin-Fan L.All of my interactions with the reservation system confirmed my reservation was for the Northgate location. When I arrived they had no idea who I was, eventually directed to the shoreline address. After a twenty minute drive further away from where I needed to be and a thirty minute wait in line I eventually got my vehicle. However none of the equipment I reserved and specifically discussed with the cashier ended up in the van.

Sam K.The return process was extremely difficult. It's not safe if you need to return the truck after hours at night. I returned after hour, the website was not easy to locate return function, then it couldn't locate my rental, so I couldn't find out how to do the return process. It was not safe to return it at night and had to spend more than 15 minutes and ended up calling customer service. The person helped me locate my rental order, but was not willing to stay on the phone with me while I was going through the return process. Stressful and scary experience.

NATALIA K.I paid for an appliance dolly. Didn't get one and had to move my fridge at a later date. Old truck fuel reading was inaccurate upon pickup. I put in 2,5 gallons of gas for the 11 miles i drove and was still charged for 2 gallons of fuel. I did not authorize the charge upon return and was charged anyways. Emails to the contact form have not been returned. Talked to a rep on the phone last week, still nothing has been fixed. I expected a lot better.

Gordon K.I drove the pickup 11 miles and put a gallon of gas in it but there was a fuel charge of $14 for two gallons of gas on my receipt. There is no way in hell that truck burned two gallons of gas.

He went above and beyond for me and I was a headache to him, having to keep the boxes for far longer than I thought I'd need them. He never lost patience with me and was extremely professional. Wish he could work in Ballard, my local branch, and hope he gets the credit he well deserves. I think his name was Mike? We were not able to do all that we wanted to do that day with truck since we only had 5 hrs 15 minutes vs the 6 hrs we had reserved the truck rental. Suggest having more resources to serve the long line for opening and/or allow reservation length to begin once we had been given the keys. We had a reservation from 0900-1500. Other than that, the service was great. Merci.

Alan H.The self checkin would not work using the Mobile app. You should scrap this option as there were others in line at the location but could not get it to work. I finally got the self checkin to work using the UHaul website bet the process was slow and cumbersome. You need to fire your IT department and hire replacements. Service staff at the location was friendly and efficient.

Even though I told them I had a receipt for gas that exceeded the amount used….. I was charge for 3 gals @$6 a gallon. Why are you Ricky tacking on charges that aren't legitimate ?
JOSEPH S.The North Seattle location and the service at the North Seattle location were excellent. The U-Haul web site and overall service provided by the U-Haul corporate site were NOT. The site promised me a 26-foot truck rental for 2 days, and did NOT show an error message saying that truck might not be available at that location (though the 800-number customer service claimed I had checked the box acknowledging that. I did no such thing! I would have remembered, because I wouldn't have chosen that option!). I got a 17-foot truck instead, which lengthened the job I had to do because we had to make two trips instead of one. The U-haul web site also did NOT make it clear that if I needed to change the return location after all (I opted not to do so in the original contract), I would not be able to at all. I was told by the 800 number customer service, "no, you can't return it to another location, even for an additional fee, because the North Seattle location owns that truck." I've had far better web site and corporate service responses from other truck rental companies, and likely won't be renting from U-Haul again. Even my friends said, "wait, why did you rent from U-Haul? They're the worst!" I found myself sadly agreeing.

I have rented a truck twice this past year and brought it back with the same level of gas I left with yet I was charged for 2 gallons each time. This seems like a scam and it's frustrating for sure. Sunita I.The store was closed at least 1,5 hours before their listed hours. The truck was marked as having 1/4 of a tank of gas but actually had less than 1/8. I tried calling uhaul customer service and heard a message that the hold time to speak with someone was 30-40 minutes. Uhaul quality is going downhill fast and I'm going to start looking for alternatives.
Aaron H.Don't park the truck behind another truck and make it almost impossible for the customer to retrieve their truck safely. Make the UHaul app work. I have had to use the web browser the last 3 times I have used the self pick up option. If the customer clicks “can't locate or retrieve truck†don't make them wait 20-30 minutes on hold. Put them to the front of the queue. They have already purchased the truck and need it at the time specified on their purchase. Put enough fuel in the truck so that the customer doesn't have to be afraid of running out of gas returning to the drop off. If the customer estimates 50 miles then don't put just 50 miles worth of gas in the truck! Don't give a customer a truck with a check engine light on! Maintain your trucks! I have had nothing but bad experiences with U-Haul and unfortunately U-Haul knows it can get away with bad service and products because it is a near monopoly in the moving truck industry. I would love to tell everyone that I enjoy using U-Haul but I never will because the truth is I hate using you but am forced to due to location and availability.

The uhaul I was suppose to pick up was parked between 2 other trucks, impossible to move without the help of the employee moving a different van. Customer service was awful, I will never use this location again.
