We spent 30 min trying to return the truck after hours because both the website and app were being problematic. We even called customer service and they urged us to install and use the app instead of checking the car in for us. We installed the app on two phones and tried to check in without success. Eventually we parked the truck on site in the returns and just put the keys in the drop box.

I stopped into this location the night before I needed a Uhaul to reserve a truck for before this locations opening time the next day. When I arrived to pick up my truck the following morning, my reservation didn’t exist. After spending 30 minutes reserving day of, the truck I was assigned to was boxed in. I had to wait for an employee to arrive to assist me. I was late picking up items I needed this truck for. When I returned this truck, we were met at the truck and told we were good to go and they would send me an email receipt. This truck was returned at 10:30 a.m. once I finally received an email receipt, the receipt stated the truck was returned after 12:30.

Although the service was good and the equipment as well, I was charged $54 for 24 hours, and then extended for 3 day’s and it was an additional $450!!! This is absurd and makes no sense. If I can find another company next time, You will lose a customer.

Upon picking up the trailer, a contract was signed allowing me to drop off the trailer in Kirkland WA. However, when I went to drop the trailer off, I was not allowed and was instructed to drive and drop the trailer in Kenmore (45 minutes from Kirkland). Upon arriving in Kenmore, I was not allowed to drop off the trailer and was instructed to drop off in Shoreline (Seattle) (another 40 minute drive). (3) three hours later, I arrived home. This process should have taken 10 minutes at the contracted location in Kirkland. The customer service at Uhaul is as poor as I've seen. I was told a at each location, there is no reimbursement allowed for my time, mileage or gas, and that dropping off the trailer was "not their problem". I can assure you, I will not rent or suggest using your services again.

I had just one complaint. After making a reservation online, I phoned in about a day later to change the parameters. From that point on, it seemed like the emails and text messages were still being generated from the original reservation, even though everyone I actually talked to knew about the changes I had made when they looked it up in the system. This ongoing disconnect between the generated emails and messages vs. what was actually being communicated on multiple phone calls, was confusing. That said, I never had any real problem and everything worked out just fine once I got someone on the phone.

We needed a moving truck and waited until the last minute to get one. Not only was a truck available, but the people were very welcoming and patient, in spite of the long line. The bathroom was clean, too!

Tried using the mobile check-in, but the truck assigned to us drove off the lot right as we were about to get the keys. It took a long time for the check in process to get me a new truck They also charged me for the mattress protectors even though I pre-paid online when I made the reservation, and said I had to pay again if I wanted them

I had to move on very short notice and, between the app and the fantastic on-site staff, everything went super smoothly. Got a recommendation to a location with storage (and a voucher for a free month!), got all my questions answered, and just generally had a fantastic experience. Thank you, U-Haul!

Both entrances into the location (From Aurora Ave N and N 165th St) were blocked by parked trucks and equipment both when I picked up my truck and returned it. I had to wait for a truck to be moved. The on-site staff rudely told me I couldn't park my car (ride home) where I was, and when I asked where I could park instead, he informed me that I could not park anywhere, there was no customer parking at the location. I guess you expect people to walk home after returning a truck. The 24x7 truck experience was good, just the location and at least 1 employee were extremely poor.

I asked about insurance, just for the vehicle, which was $129.00 for the scheduled 8-9 day rental (the vehicle would be parked mostly-just in case anybody struck it). Asked about that level of coverage, didn't say "Yay" or "Nay," was in a hurry because people were coming over to help load the truck. Imagine my surprised when later I brought the paper in and noticed that the top level $252+ change was tacked onto my bill. Penske will be my 1st stop when we move to NC next June/July. I do not like getting ripped off

It's hard to rate the location because I did mobile check-in. I didn't go inside except to pick up the key. The mobile check-in defnitely saved me time, though there was more to it than I expected, e.g., taking pictures of my driver's license and the truck.

I rent from you guys all the time because you are close and normally pretty decent. This time not so much. First I made the reservation for 10:45 pick up on Thurs. I was waiting on my friends to help move so I decided to go and pay for the truck and get that ready first and then my friends were going to meet me there and one of them was going to drive my car while I drove the truck. The lady at front desk told me that I could not pay until I was able to drive the truck off the lot. So I had to go drop off my car and come back. So I do that and came back at 11:30. So then I’m told that the person before me left it on empty and I was told that if I bring it back on quarter tank I would be reimbursed $4.25 gallon for doing you a favor. This is a 26 footer and I shouldn’t have to go get gas in it just to drive it less than two miles. Then I’m told to inspect it and I was told to use the link that was sent to my phone to look at online pics of the damage to the truck or something like that. We tried multiple times but the link never worked and so the guy helping me tells me to go ahead and just take pics of all the damage and keep that and when I return we will compare notes. Again, this is the biggest truck you have so I have to go around a taking all these pics. So I finally get done and leave. I called later that night letting them know that I needed it through Sat at 11:45 (that’s what time I picked it up on Thursday) and when I did that the guy said “you mean 10:45 because that’s when you picked it up?” And I said no I didn’t end up being able to pick it up until 11:45. He then told me no problem just tell them the situation when you come in to drop off otherwise it is a real pain to redo the reservation. Then I drop it off at 10:15 and there is a huge line of people in the office. I stand there in line for about 7 mins until someone asks if I was returning and we get it all done but I got home and noticed a message from someone there who called at 10:30. The message was sort of condescendingly asking when I planned on bringing the truck in because they had another reservation. What was the point of me calling to extend my reservation? Why did I have to be the one to pull that monstrosity into a gas station just to go two miles? Why should I have to go around the truck and take pics of the damage because your app didn’t work? Why isn’t it your responsibility to have someone take the time to walk me through the damage? My biggest piece of feedback is this. You have WAY too much truck inventory on your lot and it makes it hard for your employees to even do their job correctly. I was told that they didn’t have the room to pull the truck around the front so they could inspect it themselves and there is no where ever for your customers to park. What’s the point in having all those trucks if you are driving your customers away by the inconvenience of you having all those trucks????? I know you guys are better than that.

The truck smelled heavily of tobacco smoke. Even though the person who helped me wiped it down with odor eliminator by the end of my rental the tobacco smell was back. Not as strong as it was before she wiped it down- but it was still there. I feel this should have been taken care of before the truck was made available to be rented.

Searching for vehicle for mobile pickup is too much of a hassle. I was better off doing in person pickup. Also mentioning alternative contacts or lease agreements ahead of time for preparation would speed up the process.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE--- don't change the drop off location on your customers like you did with us! On-line, the drop off locatilon was in Oldtown, but the actual updated dropoff location required an hour extra drive to the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!

I tried self drop off after hours though after the verification number came through on my phone there was no further option/link to complete the check in. I would have gladly completed the process if it had been possible but ended up with a $20 fee to have it done by the Uhaul personnel the next day. A refund of the $20 would be nice.

The young man who was “helping “ us at the Shoreline location took 1.5 hrs. to get us set up with the truck I had previously reserved. This made us very late getting out of Seattle & on our way. Also, it took this long despite us being the only people in the building at 7:30 a. m. that morning. He was hard to understand because he rattled off the information so quickly I had to ask him to repeat himself more than once. Then, he didn’t know how to add the moving supplies I bought to our reservation, so he charged me the tax for each separately. This caused me to have to pay taxes twice. In addition, I had to go back into the building after he told us the truck was ready to ask routine questions that he had not answered while we were at the counter. Finally, he did not tell us to check the mileage before turning in the truck at a different location than where we picked it up. He promised us free miles for returning the truck elsewhere, but that location said we drove twice as many miles as we actually did. I didn’t know of this until the following morning because the alternative location was close to closing time. They handed us a brochure & assured us we could get the truck checked in online. However, they had already done so & charged us by the time I called about the over charges. The end result was that we were charged for what should have been free miles, plus the additional miles they said we drove. I will not be using U Haul services again in the future if I have any other service to choose from.

No management of all the trucks in the lot whatsoever. People driving in and dropping more trucks off than the lot can handle. This lot should be able to anticipate this and schedule a person or two to manage this. It was an absolute cluster fuck!

Mike Blanchard was a pleasure to work with as well as the rest of the staff. He went above and beyond finding the truck I needed after a bad experience with another store. I own a small moving company and my truck was in the shop and another rental company had cancelled on me and he made sure I had what I need. I will definitely use u-haul again and wouldn't even consider it before working with him. Thanks again!

The truck didn’t have functioning AC, the steering wheel was grimy and deteriorating, and the vents kept blasting the cabin with noxious, hot air even with the fan unit turned off. Definitely my worst experience with UHaul ever.

The staff at both facilities I dealt with in Phoenix and Shoreline were amazing!!! Both managers were fantastic and a special shout out to Julian Whalen in Shoreline, he was friendly and very helpful.
