I was given a dirty trailer with a broken hinge. I am very displeased with how Uhaul handled my reservation. You cannot call three days before the day you go to pick the trailer up and say they don't have one for you. Then when you insist they will get you one, they make you drive father to get it and give you a broken one. I will not be using uhaul ever again.MERRILL-LEE P.

The vehicle was nowhere near where the photo in the app said it would be. I had to search the entire lot to find itâ€"and it was about as far from where the location indicated as it could be. I struggled a bit with the key locker, because the directions in the app said to turn the knob counterclockwise. Ultimately, I figured out that I needed to turn it clockwise to get it to work. The van itself was very dirty on the outside. Not a huge deal, but a bit of a deal. And it smelled like smoke in the cab.Faye T.

Humm, you know, I think it all went well, several staff on hand at my 8:00 AM pickup time and the brief wait was barely noticeable. Also, it was great that they showed flexibility and cooperation in adjusting my reservation on the fly, once I saw pads and hand truck in the truck, so I could drop quickly the items I had on my reservation. As it turned out, we did not need the hand truck after all, so since I did not break the seal in the truck, I saved a few bucks!!! U-Haul and the Olympia office are great and I will certainly be back again when needed.Harvey S.

The inventory was all messed up. The trailer that I reserved wasn't available, this is the 2nd time in a 2 week period that had happened to me. I rented the van on Sunday 3/7/21 at 12:56. I returned it just under 2 hours later with 45 miles driven and just over 3/8 tank of gas. I received a message Monday morning from Uhaul stating that I am no longer on a valid contract and that I need to call the Uhaul office. I called and spoke to a woman who was a bit brash with me on the phone who seemed to know who I was when she answered. She said not to worry about the message and that she knew I returned the van. I did not receive my final invoice for the rental until today 3/12/2, 5 days later, and it shows at the top left of the invoice that the contract date is also today 3/12/21 @ 10:17am, even though the rental date below it shows 3/7/21. The charges indicated on the invoice are correct, however. I guess my concern is that there were so many issues after returning the vehicle, that I thought I would reach out and let you know so that you can hopefully correct the problems. I can rent vehicles and equipment literally anywhere else and receive the final invoice immediately after returning it. Seems like Uhaul should be able to do the same. You have to understand that it causes people anxiety to receive inaccurate messages stating that you are not in contact, not know if there is an issue of some sort or if additional charges are fraudulently being added after you return it, etc. When I finally received this invoice today, I was crossing my fingers, hoping the invoiced amount was the same as what the person who checked the vehicle in told me it would be. This is the biggest and most convenient location around. But in general the people there are very poorly trained and it is frustrating to deal with them across the board. Very unprofessional. However ineluctable state. The young man we dealt with both upon pick up and return was amazing, his name was Cody. That young man would be a credit to customer service any where he works. But the questions of the survey asked about the location. In contrast to the poor customer service attitude I am used to at this location he truly shines. The protocol for charging for gasoline use in the trucks is convoluted and hard to understand. I was quoted 85 $to rent for 24 hours, returned the truck 3 hours early and used less gas than I anticipated and was still charged well over 100 $with no real explanation why.BENJAMIN E.

The size of the units are not as stated. They have low points and odd shapes making it impossible to get some items in them. If I rent a 15 foot truck you should have a unit to fit that cubic feet inside a unit. The stairs to the unit went up about 9 steps. The hall then went about 5 steps forward, then down 3 steps. Then forward about 6 feet, then back up 3 steps. That hall is treacherous especially for someone with mobility issues carrying heavy household objects. My reservation for for a ground floor unit. I was issued a different unit by the clerk, so they do not appear to be able to read a reservation. They one thing they did right was be polite and issue 2 small units free to make up the difference. It was very difficult to access the facility because their is only one street side access point and it was in use by someone. I had to wait for them to unload. I had to nose out into 4 lane traffic to back in. Dangerous. There was a rat poison bait box inside one of the units. Is my stuff safe from infestation?David S. | Premières impressions

With the exception of one staff member, everyone there was very helpful, supportive, and hospitable. There was a gentleman working outside (I think he was checking in returned vehicles and overseeing the lot) who I felt was condescending and made me feel stupid. The friendly people at the counter directed me outside after finishing payment and registration, and told me my truck number. I had my key, and went out to find it. I (wrongfully) assumed that my truck would logically not be one of the blocked in trucks in the lot, seeing as how I had just paid and was ready to leave to start my move. I couldn't find my truck, since I was just checking the front row of them. In my mind, why would I get a truck key for a truck that I couldn't get out of the lot? The trucks were parked in about a 6 x 3 setup. Mine happened to be a truck trapped in the middle of them. I tried to get assistance from this male staff member who was outside, and without even looking up from what he was doing, told me it was right there, and he seemed frustrated that I was so inept and couldn't complete the simple task of finding my own truck. He obviously didn't feel like being much help, so I looked harder. It was then that I found my truck, blocked in, in the middle of this rectangle of trucks. How does it make sense that my truck would be trapped in by the others? You just gave me the key expecting me to pull off of the lot. And this guy was making me feel dumb for not being able to find it? There was a family also searching for their truck as I finally found mine. This male staff member seemed oblivious and/or apathetic to both the plight of this family as well as my own struggles. I got into my trapped-in truck, as this lost family realized that their truck was the one blocking mine in. I don't blame them for this issue though. That male staff member should have cared and been perceptive enough to realize that it was taking an inappropriately long time for two sets of customers to find their rigs, and came over to help us. Even if he thought we were idiots, you're in a customer service business. After getting my truck out of that puzzle-box, I pulled it around to the loading area. I should also mention that this was the same guy who escorted me to my new storage space. En route on foot, he asked me which unit we was mine. I didn't know. He commented on how it made him worry that (or something along those lines) I didn't even know what number unit I had. Sir, I had JUST paid. For a unit that I only signed up for because your associates had offered me a free first month if I did. Ok, I agree, I should know what unit I had just rented. But you didn't know either, and you were the staff member ESCORTING me to that very unit. You didn't know either, and I felt it was very inappropriate for you to have commented on that to me. If I'm a customer, and I'm not doing harm, you don't let those opinions out in a blaze of glory in your attitude towards us. It made me feel bad and not want to work with you anymore. Overall, my uhaul experience this time was pleasant, and I was really happy to have those services available in my community. My experience with this one staff member shouldn't inhibit other people from patronizing this uhaul's services. I wasn't even going to say anything, but Uhaul just emailed me and asked me to fill out a survey about my experience. So, I'm just trying to be honest. I would definitely use this specific Uhaul facility again. I'll just stay away from this one grumpy guy. Maybe he was having a bad day or something, but I'm already stressed out from the move.
