When I came to this location I had few questions and when I asked it to UHaul employee she gave me silence ignorance. Her coworker had to get in and say she is a new hire. But it is very business unethical to give ignorance inside the office when I ask questions about my rental. Second is the truck. It turned off on every red light. This car had issues and they never tested it and gave it to me. My experience became nightmare as I had to start car every time I stop on red lights as it would shut down itself.Elvin D.

I will never use uhaul again for long-distance moves. Or maybe any moves at all. My ubox wasn't event delivered to the right city at first and then, even though when I first booked my uhaul I put in San Fransisco, when it finally gets to the right uhaul location, they say they don't delivery to where I live, so I had to rent a van, unload my box into the van, drive to my apartment, and then unload at my apartment. It took so many phone calls to even get my box to the right location (they also moved it from the first city to the correct city without notifying me) and just to get my stuff. A 1/5 star experience, I will use PODS next time, even though it is more expensive.Rachel P.

Associates need to be more informed, I went in to rent a truck for about 2-3 hours and the associate asked me how many miles I was going to drive, to be on the safe side I said I was going to be driving around 40 miles and the associate kept saying 20 miles because i mentioned I was going to be driving to Daly City I was really confused on why she kept saying 20 miles. I left with my rental but the whole experience didn't feel right at all.Luis H.

Very rude lady required an emergency phone number and actually had to call to verify it. Then continued to rudely argue about them having always done it. Last time I rented in 2018 this was not the case. In her words, "that was a long time ago". Perhaps for her memory anything more than 5 minutes is a "long time ago". Two things I would recommend would be to allow international phone numbers on the reservations, we had to wait for the Tmobile store to open and we had to pay for a local number and then come back in order to rent to u-haul and the number hasn't been used once by U haul. Secondly, I would recommend stressing at the day of renting how clean the u haul should be when returned, if it's been rented for burning man and making inside the car cleaning mandatory to avoid cleaning fees. Over all service was good and candid.Hila M.
Though the vehicle rented was in fine shape and the branch's representatives were friendly, I had an very poor experience with my 9/18/22 reservation. The requirement to physically reach, via telephone, one's emergency contact was ludicrous and severely delayed my move and my movers. As someone who works in insurance and (not to my surprise) provided my credit card for incidentals, this was seemed and was extremely frustrating.Andrew Z.

We paid $150 to have the van fully cleaned, outside and inside. The person who received the equipment back was very nice, but another person came in and wanted to make us pay for cleaning again even if the van was entirely clean (and still shining from the wash!). Never had this happen at Candlestick Park. Will continue to rent from UHAUL, but not from this location again.Emmanuel C.

There should be a sign / dedicated line for those that checked in via mobile and just need key pickup. There was a long line and some confusion about who need to wait in line v. Just go get the key. Also, the truck I picked up had NO GAS (12 miles left in the tank) and the furniture pad I had pre-ordered were no in the truck - the line was so long that I didn't bother getting them and did without.ANDREW P.

Generally, the check in process went smoothly and efficiently. I was given keys to a vehicle that were not for the vehicle I rented; after walking around the area where the vehicles were parked, I figured it out, took the keys back in, waited (while other customers were being served) and was given the right keys. A little more attentiveness/awareness on the part of the person checking people in would have gone a long way to save me (and others) time.Joseph H.

First off, Great people, nice clean facility. I was grateful to easily access a newer truck and the price was fair. The neighborhood is kind of gross and did not feel safe, especially for my car which I thought was vulnerable to break-in. The other issue is that I had to walk a long way from the office to locate my vehicle, then trudge all the way back to pick up the key. I wish there was a way to store the keys where the trucks are parked. Finally, I resent the website constantly hammering me to up-charge for insurance and supplies. The communication I received was abhorrent. In San Francisco, I was told that my box couldn't be delivered literally the day before it was supposed to be delivered. Nobody reached out to me at any point to check in with me at all or tell me about possible box drop of restrictions. When I rescheduled the box drop off for a different city, there were additional restrictions for the new location that literally nobody thought to bring up. Then, When I got to Texas, the box pick up and lack of communication was somehow even worse than it was in California. It was impossible to reach the correct office (I was transferred to FOUR different offices on the phone -- literally hours of time on hold -- until I was connected to the Austin office), and they told me they were going to pick up my box on a specific day and then never showed up. I missed work to facilitate the pick up. Then they did that a second day in a row. When they did pick the box up they showed up on the wrong day and still didn't arrive within the window that they themselves gave me. They were literal hours outside of the window. I had such an unnecessarily stressful and bad experience with uhaul ubox that I will never ever use this service again, and I will strongly recommend that others also avoid it. Even just thinking about how bad this experience was makes my blood boil.Sydney L.

Line was all the way back to the door when we entered. One person on the desk. Took about a half hout to get a truck, but...the battery was stone dead. Second truck had some sort of transmission issue, with loud internal screeching until it warmed up. we took it anyway, as it was the last 15 footer in the lot. I drove it VERY gingerly, getting 15 MPG over the 550 mile trip. Truck was very dirty on the outside; had to stop and wash the windshield for a clear view.J Charles S.

Extremely short staffed for an end of the month weekend morning. Made an appointment for 9am. Got there at 8:55am, did not leave with a truck until 10:10am. The line was incredibly long with only 1 man working the counter until about 9:35am when they brought on a second associate. By the time we got to the front they no longer had a dolly available, which I had reserved and very much needed. They didn't have anyone assisting outside and had to walk into some sort of garage to find the furniture padding I also reserved.Ryan C.
The whole experience with Uhaul was awful. The movers who helped load/unload were great. But my experience with Uhaul was awful. I called Uhaul on Saturday to confirm my things were ready, I was on hold for over an hour. I got transferred a lot, was given the wrong number. I asked for supervisor, was told that wasn't possible. The call center staff was rude and incompetent. Then on Sunday, the movers arrive at the location, it's not the right location that's on the Uhaul website. They go to a different location, the hours say they are open but no one was there. Then I call again, It's another hour, and being placed on hold/transferred. I scheduled a morning pick up and my things didn't arrive until 9 pm. The movers had another appointment at 4. Honestly the entire experience was just awful. Lesson learnedâ€¦never using Uhaul again,Gina P.
I completed the check in details already no gas in vehicle--on empty--listed as 1/4 tank mileage wrong---show less that it actually was warning light stayed on despite worker saying it didn't matter trash left in cab UHaul's "mistakes" are always to its advantage. Everything was so slow and disorganized. I had two things reserved for that day--a truck and a UBox. I got the key to my truck just fine after figuring out the self-checkout system, but when I returned to unload my stuff out of the truck and into the UBox, things went south. I arrived with my truck around 11 am and didn't leave until around 2 pm. Only about 15 minutes of that time was the unload. First off, upon pulling up, I informed an attendant I was here to access my UBox. He directed me to pull my truck into a line where the UBoxes were pulled out of storage. Then, after waiting in line for about 45 minutes, a different employee told me I had to go inside and check in to get my UBox pulled out. I did so and was told I'd have to wait for the box to be pulled out as there was only 1 man operating the fork lift and he was "backed up." It took about an hour to get my box pulled out and in that time--even though I was at the front of the line for unloading--I was asked to pull my truck back around to the back of the line--which I did. After pulling the truck around, the loading dock was then blocked because a customer left a rental truck in the entrance, locked it up, and someone ran off with the keys. It took another 30 minutes for the truck to be moved. Finally when I had my truck at the unload spot and access to my box, I was told by another employee that I needed to--again--go inside and inform the front desk that I was now loading the UBox. Only then was the box's serial number confirmed to be my box. Unloading/loading the truck/UBox took all of 15 minutes. I locked it up and looked around for an employee as I needed to return the truck I rented. There was a person who was not in a Uhaul uniform who claimed they worked for Uhaul and could take the keys. The forklift operator confirmed the un-uniformed person could do it and that I'd "receive an email with my receipt in 15 minutes." I went back inside one last time to have my UBox marked as ready for shipping and to tell them that I was told to leave the keys with this individual. Again, I was told I'd receive an email within 15 minutes. I waited about 6 hours and decided to call. I was on hold for 45 minutes, the line rang, and then there was just silence--no one answered, but I was no longer on hold. I have a charge from UHaul that I don't understand and no receipt to explain it. What a mess.Justin T.

The area is hot and difficult to load and unload packages. There are only two places to park with no ramp only stairs. It was very difficult to move in. The access door doesn't work properly I have to swipe my card at least 3 times before the door opens. The staff wasn't very friendly either. My storage door kept sending off the alarm and I told the clerk and he said that was normal but it's not! It was very embarrassing and scary! The U-Haul storage facility on Bryant St. in SF was a huge upgrade from from my prior storage rental in SF The U-HAUL's facility's common areas were well lit; well maintained ;and kept very clean. I was also paying a lower rate - so a much better value. My prior storage facility allowed vagrants and people loitering at or near the facility - so there were safety issues in addition to fumes and dirt. I had this unit for more than 8 years, and everytime I've needed help with anything, the staff here have been a delight to work with. Starting with helping me coordinate the shipment of the pods, renting a truck and renting the storage unit, to any subsequent time that I needed a truck or van to shuffle my things around, every transaction was easy and everyone was always friendly. The building and the unit were easy to access and felt secure, and a truck was available each time I needed to rent one. I've been so impressed, and I'm very happy with my experience. - van return process not intuitive: the drop-off instructions require access to the van, but they are displayed in the key box. I only saw the instructions after returning the key - elevators are unintuitive and a major bottleneck - it takes a long time to access the storage unit: there should be shorter routes - there should be more dollies and carts available for dropoff use. There is no light inside the unit which led to my partner being seriously injured when he slipped on a rat trap inside the unit when we were moving in. The staff was not helpful during that time and refused to extend our truck rental time even though we spent 2 hours in the emergency room before we could use the truck. Since then, however, the staff has been kind. The manager is very friendly and flexible. Although the facility is a little cumbersome to navigate, I was happy with the late hours of operation. Because every other encounter was excellent, I gave the excellent rating despite the harrowing events earlier in the year.Kerri N. | Expérience générale

I was in need for storage after the unexpected passing of my son. Most places were closed or difficult to reach. All of the representatives were helpful, knowledgeable and professional. I was a bit flummoxed about actual size of spaces and the corresponding costs. was unable to look at an actual space for rent until signed and paid for. i think perhaps the space is on the more expensive end of the list for that size. However, quite fortunately, it also is very easy to access from the loading dock to the space. Key cards never work consistently. It took me two hours with card reader problems to simply move 1 box into my storage unit. I had to go back to the office 4 times to get my card checked. This was a 10 min task that took way too long and was super inconvenient to keep walking back to the office to understand why card won't work in reader. can't we go back to codes?Maria L. | Online Move In

Service staff was condescending and unhelpful. They seemed more concerned about theft prevention than provide us excellent customer service. We were upgrading our unit and the unit size we reserved online wasn't available in reality. No apologies, no empathy, nothing. Your current process made it VERY difficult to transition to a larger unit. We ended up with a smaller size unit and did our best to make it fit our needs. You have us trapped as customers because you know it's not easy for us to move our business elsewhere. The alarms in the building are at an ear damaging decibel and go off regularly. They are unbelievably loud. You should swap out the yellow buttons used to keep carts in their home location. Twice while moving our storage contents we clipped a yellow button and sent our valuables tumbling to the ground. The location is a huge maze and the staff didn't do anything to help show us the easiest route from our old to new storage unit. Half way through our several hour move we identified a closer freight elevator and a much short route between our two points. It would have been nice for the staff to have provided that guidance and improved our experience. The pass card to access the building (which we have been using for years) denied us access into the storage floor and when I took it to the customer representative to find out why she told me our card wasn't assigned to our unit and then proceeded to argue with me when I shared we've only had the one unit will ever at this U-haul location. She we a larger woman and very unpleasant to deal with. I tried to engage with her and be friendly and got nothing from her. Same with the gentleman who helped me. The sign about the large, recent investment in carts above the cart station on level two is tacky and should be taken down. Ensuring there are operational carts and moving tools is a cost of doing business. There were messages all over the building of what we can/can't do and some with associates charges for braking any rule. It didn't add to our experience in a positive way. The only positive point in our experience was a cleaning lady on the fourth floor who could see we were lost, stopped her work and proactively helped us. You need more people like her on staff. Friendly helpful staff, clean building but that elevator scared the crap out of me every time I had to use it, Why not unlock the stairs from all floors but the worst was the bait and switch, I reserved a unit that was to be $84 plus $7 insurance, got to the store and was told they did no have that unit any more would I like this other unit for $96 a month and $7 insurance, why reserve a unit if they just give it away. Dollies all stolen at one point, making it impossible to move belongings through the maze of units. Parking near units impossible. Rat poo in both units (I have given up one unit, but still share another unit with a friend for the time being.) Homeless people clearly living out of some units and camping out in the hallways. Your staff was courteous and I felt back for the gal checking us in. We had a bait and switch pulled on us which was quite disconcerting. Not her fault. But I was told on the phone twice that I had reserved a 12 x 7 x 8 on the first floor and arrived to find it wasn't available. I ended up having to get a 2nd space because we couldn't lift the sofabed and some other heavy boxes up the stairs. I was quite disappointed and will now have to call daily to see if another opens up so I can have just one space and on a floor without steps. Communication with staff was so friendly and helpful also everything is clean and on point . Dolly carts everywhere so moving your stuff is soooooo easy . When I went to check-in, I was told the unit I reserved online was not available and that the system is known to have this issue of incorrectly letting customers reserve a unit that is not actually free. Luckily, another similar unit was available, but this could have been a significant concern if there was not another unit available. This should be fixed. Happy with the accessibility and cleanliness of the location. Providing carts and a free section to leave lightly used items was convenient. No lighting in my unit which made it hard to see in there from just the hallway lighting. But generally a good experience.Audrey F. | Expérience générale
I am so disappointed with this storage place. I called multiple times to ask questions almost a week before my move-in date in order to get some clarification, and no one had any idea how to answer my questions. I was told conflicting things by different people. The website wouldn't let me check-in for a unit and get my one month free from renting a truck. Of course the storage people said there's nothing they can do, so we called 1-800-go-uhaul. The lady did it with us on the phone, and there was still no way to get the free month. She told us to reserve a new unit, pay for it, and present the receipt + truck confirmation at the location for a refund. Of course, the storage people later said they couldn't give me a refund and that I was told ''wrongful information.'' Unbelievable. In addition, because I had to make a new reservation in order to check-in online, I ended up getting a unit that was on top of another one. It took OVER 3 HOURS to take big pieces of furniture up those metal stairs, and my back was destroyed by the end of it. I had specified in the original reservation that I wanted one on the bottom. The map was also useless and it took us over 30mins to even locate the storage unit in the first place. The location is in a terrible area and we had people try to take our stuff, as well as tailgate into the facility after we unlocked the door. I am extremely angry and disappointed, and would not recommend this place to anyone. I can't wait to get my stuff out of there.ISABELLA M. | Online Move In
