The actually ability for me to rent a uhual for 4 hours for 40 $was great. But everything besides that sucked. Your 8 step process to to get my vehicle was horrible. Please show progress bar or something so I know how much longer I have left of the process. Make it easy for the customer to use! The return process was even worse. I kept getting in a loop of filling out my return form then getting a credit card error which told me to follow different steps for night time delivery only to have to fill out the exact same form again and face the same error. I didn't know where to put my car since everything was closed, there were no instructions, and the help call line never connected me to someone to help. The only reason I was able to return my car was because an employee just happened to come in late at night to grab something she forget. But even she tried to rush past me clearly trying to avoid me so she didn't have to spend 2 minutes helping me. I hated every part of you process. Please fix. Hire better people. The storage facility was great for money. The staff was kind and helpful with what was in their control. Cons There were no carts available to move our stuff because the staff said it was stolen. The Id verification process took 20 minutes and was a huge hassle trying to contact two people, even though I had informed them to wait for the call. The phone calls didn't go through and it was just a pain in the neck. I don't understand the concern with just allowing a driver's license for ID verification. Treating everyone like criminals is a great way to get me to use a different service.Vinod C.

When ready to unload the truck into my storage unit, there were no Dollys or hand trucks. I waited an hour and asked an employee if there were any in another location. His reply was â€œfirst come, first servedâ€ Finally someone else asked If I needed help, I told him I was waiting on a hand truck, he took me into the return equipment area and let me use one of the 30 or 40 that were there. A complete wast of time for me and blocking the loading dock for others.HARRY L.

Customer service is absolutely garbage. The continued existence of this UHaul branch is a failure of capitalism and humanity. We reserved 10x10 but were given 10x5 because the company didn't honor the reservation. The staff is careless and disrespectful to customers. We saw an employee call a customer a bitch ass hoe and nearly start a fight because the employees car was needlessly blocking the unloading lane and the customer asked for it to be moved. Other employees ignored or mocked the customer. This U-Haul location is probably beyond redemption but a good attempt towards a reasonable customer experience is for management to fire all these worthless employees and just start freshKatlyn A.

Use a key similar to realto's box. It's a drag to stand in line to be told to walk out and out and up the ramp and wade through a master lot reading brands then find it and snap and walk back down the lot to walk back to the the back of the line to wait to get back to front of line to ask for a key...no sense in digital if it's all mechanical.Tamara H.

I tried to choose this location for drop off when I made my reservation but my only options were in Oakland which is insane to drive to from SF and then have to commute back. I heard from multiple people that they have had issues with returning their UHaul in San Francisco. It would make sense for you to update your drop off locations online. Also, two other drop locations show up for San Francisco on Google that do not exist.MARIA S.

U haul was the best option for me. I moved from San Francisco to Austin I had a one bed room apartment . It all fit into 1 U box because I had the experts and P and J moving pack things for me. All of my things arrived perfectly on time. Nothing was damaged or shifted and nothing got wet. Choose Uhaul if you don't have a lot of stuff. If you hire people who know how to pack up a U Box like P and J Movers you can mover for 2 000 $! Uhaul was the only company I didn't feel like was scamming me, gave firm prices and were good on their word.Therese S.
The sign for returning the truck says "Equipment return" (or something similar) and I can also see trucks on the left entrance. I wasn't shoure should I take the left or the right driveway. I don't know if my experience was really with local staff or national customer service people, but despite being friendly on the phone, not a single thing ever got done right. I had to call and call again, and call again, each time spending at least 30 minutes on hold before I could talk to a person who claimed they would take care of whatever but then didn't actually do it. service was really bad. I went through the whole self check-in through the phone, I was eventually approved and was asked to go inside to the counter to pick up the keys. The instructions on the screen simply said to show the mobile web page to an associate to pick up the keys. The girl on the counter instead of trying to pull up my reservation (which I had already been approved for), asked for the number of the truck. I didn't have the number of the truck since I already went through the "locate your van" step. After I went and got the number, she then told me I needed to show her a picture... Why???? I already went through the annoying process of checking in over the phone, getting my contacts verified, locating the truck, then going back to the counter to pick up my keys... Why the hell do I need a picture... Since I didn't have one, she then told me to wait while she helped a pair of customers with her application. The whole point of the mobile check in approval was to skip the line and just pick up the keys. I don't understand. Not to mention she was pretty rude. After noticing my frustration, another very kind employee asked for my last name to pull up the reservation, and promptly handed me the car keys. Really frustrating experience with the one employee...Pablo S.

The manager at the Bryant Street U-Haul is wonderful he and his team worked extremely hard to correct an issue with are ubox reservation. It was an extremely busy day and he worked hard to make sure that we located are Uboxs. Even calling later when we were in route to where they were to make sure we were doing OK. I really appreciate his hard work and making things right with our reservation and generous discount in the truck rental because we needed to drive to another facility. They failed to have the Unit size I had expected to rent, so required to rent an additional unit at another company across town, thus I incurred additional expense and GREAT inconvenience. I did not appreciate being lied to an/or mislead as I did call to confirm several days ahead. As a result I could not say it was a stellar experience. On such sort notice (upon arriving at the facility) I was pretty much at the mercy of the situation. Last time I will EVER use your storage company. Bait and switch is totally unacceptable under any circumstances period! At this particular location it would be helpful if an instructional handout was given that gave step by step instructions about accessing the facility. In particular, it would be helpful to know that the elevator Close Door button must be held until the door fully closes, then you must swipe your card and then hit your floor button. The 1 freight elevator available to me on the 3rd floor broke down. An employee came and found me after I called the office to notify them the elevator wasn't working. It was only at that time they told me the elevator was in fact broken. A u-haul employee quickly came to find me. He was great - explained and showed me what to do next. I ended up having to carry all my stuff up to the 4th floor to exit the building. There is no access out with you things off the 3rd floor. I was told the elevator could be out of use for hours and they notified the "offsite" technician. Fast forward an hour or two I learn on my own that the elevator had been repaired. But no one told me and they knew Of my situation. Turns out I spent 90 minutes lugging mattresses, furniture and boxes one by one upstairs when I could use the elevator. I would never recommend this location to anyone. The staff were rude and unhelpful. When I first rented my unit, the staff member who recommended my size was completely off which required me to last minute rent an extra storage unit, raising my cost far above competitors. Management was impossible to get in touch with and was so unprofessional in their communication that a Uhaul representative was concerned. The representative sent notices for management to return my calls and they never did. My move out was disorganized and never logged in the system, requiring my hired movers to stay late and charge me extra. There's only one elevator so try not to move stuff in on weekends. It took far longer than it should and cost me to return my van rental because the slowness of the elevator took hours from. You can only access until 10pm which it says 24/7 access. Highly disappointed with UHaul Storage at 1525 Bryant st. San Francisco. We made the reservation for 5x10x8 storage one month prior the date. But when we came with the loaded truck we have been told that the size is not available and UHaul Storage can give us bigger storage for bigger price. We accepted the bigger size and asked to honor the price of the reservation. But we were told that they can't do it and that we are not reasonable by asking such things. ?!!! We called the corporate Uhaul customer support and they were absolutely useless because they have no decision making power. Since we were put on the spot we had no options to choose other alternatives, so we accepted the bigger storage with bigger price after an hour of argument with the manager Gene Carr III. It is crucial to fulfill the reservation, because moving process is very stressful. The reservation means that Uhaul gives us a Promise that when we come we get it for 100 % in the way it was promised. Uhaul broke the promise and the value of the brand. I am asking to fix your reservation system. If for some uncontrolled reason Uhaul can't fulfill the promise, then Uhaul has to notify the client immediately, so the client would get a chance to look for he alternatives. This place is a joke and I will recommend friends to always look elsewhere. Move out experience was as traumatic as moving in. My couch is ruined because a rodent clearly are through it. Car was broken into and front desk lady couldn't have cared less. Manager was kind enough to help police with videos so appreciative of that but will not ever come back to a Uhaul after the horrible move in experience 3 months ago and frustrating experience moving out. Eight years with this place and it was filled with caps locked filled emails threatening to gouge me out of more money for being late on rent but all along I always paid the same day. The 22nd. They refused to take note of that. Ever. No matter how many emails or phone calls, same pointed emails *ALL LIKE THIS* as if they were yelling at me. The when you sign up for autopay they take it out whenever they want. No set date. Then the pandemic. Struggling to make ends meet and hit with yet another email and price gouge. Although the facilities were overall very clean, as I noted to the staff, there was rust residue from a large leak that came in from the back of my unit. I imagine either from an adjoining unit or rain from the roof, possibly. If any toxic or harmful materials are found to have been present, please let me know. Possibly a worse experience than getting my license at a DMV - and that's saying ALOT! Here's a thought - allow for the emergency contacts to be completed BEFORE you arrive because it will take another 1 hour just to fill in 3 data points at the store. Efficient and friendly staff. Convenient location. Only wish i didnt have to open a new contract and verify contacts each time i rent a truck or a new storage space. A membership or loyalty package based on points would be awesome!! Points earn you perks, benefits, discounts etc. Incl van rental, pod storage, free boxes, credit towards hiring labor etc. App needs work. Logs me out each time i start a new task or reservation. I went in with a reservation, and was told they don't honor those and there are no available units. Luckily, they did have one, and increases the price over the price from my online reservation. I was told to sign without giving any details about the unit, "does it matter? it's the only one available." I wasn't even told the price until I asked for a breakdown of the total. I wasn't given a chance to review the contract, which was very unfavorable (2 visits per day, 30 min max per visit, etc.). I rented a UHaul van and storage unit to store my belongings for a temporary move out of SF. This was the craziest moving experience of my life. I reserved the storage unit a month ahead of time, but wasn't able to move in the first day of my reservation. I figured I would start being charged on the start date and could move in whenever, but I showed up a week later to pick up my van (the day before my flight out of SF), I was told that my storage reservation had been cancelled **without notifying me** and there were no other large units available. HOLY ****!!! What kind of insane corporate policy is that?! Luckily an AWESOME employee, Gino, worked with me for hours to find an abandoned unit and clean it out so I could use it. If he hadn't been so helpful, I would have had to abandon half of my belongings in a dumpster. As is, the delay meant I had to make my last storage drop-off after the office closed. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy in the daytime, but at night, it's downright dangerous. For context, I'm a large guy, so not usually concerned for my safety in the city. But there were at least five people siphoning gas from trucks left on the street, and multiple others that started circling me as soon as I parked. I decided to leave and come back in the morning for fear of my things being stolen. Thankfully, Gino helped me extend my truck reservation to the next morning and I was able to move the rest of my things early before my flight. The higher-ups at UHaul need to rethink their reservation processes and invest in better security for this location. Gino deserves a serious raise/promotion!Matthew C. | Premières impressions

Started off good, but when our storage key, which we bought at the uhaul office, broke (key snapped into half) at the time of the first use of the storage, staff at the office did not offer anything helpful. They told us the technician left for the day (3pm) therefore only way to get it fixed is we call locksmith and pay for 175 $by ourselves. We are not satisfied of this solution as the key is bought brand new at the uhaul office and the door was poorly aligned to begin with. Also, we had to pay 175 $for locksmith out of our pocket just because technician was not around even during the office hour is extremely frustrating. We do not understand why we had to cover the cost for all of this when it was due to poorly maintained door on our storage unit. If such misalignment is typical, or hours of onsite technicians is limited, the staff needs to inform new customers like us in advance.YU H. | Premières impressions
