Under staffed is an under statement. From walk-in to actually getting van took over 45 minutes, and I had it reserved days before I came in. The share ride in the online app wasn't working as several of us in line tried many times to get it to work.Tom P.

Ubox is a really very helpful service and all the stuff came to my place safely. But I had been waiting for a week to pick up the empty box from my new place and requested it multiple times to the San Diego UBOX department because HOA guys asked my owner to remove the UBOX from the parking place. The surprise thing was that UBox guys was saying that they had called and text me the next day to pick up it up. It was completely false. When they had scheduled to pick the box on my request and they sent a text with the wrong date. I was not accepting it from the Uhaul. Basically, it was the responsibility of Uhaul to pick it up without any permission from me on the next day of the arrival. But still, I love this UBOx service. Please take care nex time.Balram P.

Very pleased with services at this location. Clean, well lit, convenient. Staff are helpful and friendly enough. Appreciate the honest pricing, unlike some competitors. Would be nice if disposal was actually available sometime for small amounts of trash... On multiple occasions, disposal was not available at any price for even a single trash bag. The siren in the storage area goes off multiple times per visit, is painful and appears useless as there seems never to be any response, and if anything it hides the sounds of any activities that it would supposedly protect from. The storage facility suited my needs well. My only complaint is that I was not informed about the need to use stairs to access the unit I was given. I was under the impression that all the storage units were either ground floor or could be accessed with an elevator. The half floors that are only accessible via stairs were inconvenient to access when carrying heavy items. I would start by telling the customer in the beginning that we need to refuel, the guy that helped us did not mention this at all. We drove 11 miles total, but they charged us 2 GAL for them to refuel total of $10,5 hmmm I doubt that 11 miles uses 2 GAL? Try not to cheat your customer. This is first UHAUL that ever misinformed us and overcharged on refuel! That's why I gave 2 stars.EMILLIE W.
Our transaction with U-Haul was stricken with issues from start to finish. Firstly, we were recommended the wrong number of U-Boxes. On the day we had movers loading our two boxes it soon became apparent that we needed a third, which meant that I needed to drive to the U-Haul and pick up the third myself. Upon picking up the third box, I was not informed that I needed to note the milage. Later, I was charged for driving the vehicle over 20 miles even though it was 1-2 miles to our residence. It took 3-4 calls for this to be refunded. The third box was incorrectly loaded onto a separate account and was furthermore, listed as being stored in Santa Clara rather than being shipped to Austin as were our original two. This also took 3-4 calls to be corrected although I notice on our account that its still listed as stored in Santa Clara. During many of our calls the staff were rude and I was told that I was wrong. Even when we received the boxes in Austin, they were picked up after several days instead of 1-2 days. Lastly, we are owed a refund as we were overcharged and according to our account we are owed $44,19 and I am not sure what the contract fee of $44,85 is.Tod C.
Had some billing issues at first, but the staff cleared them up. The one very frustrating-and frankly unacceptable-shortcoming is UHaul's inability to manage addresses and address changes. Turns out there was a problem with my autopay and U-Haul was sending mail to an old address. This despite my updating my address in the U-Haul app and by calling customer service. This is the 21st century-the Information age-ya'll can afford computer data bases that talk to each other. My reservation was messed up! i went to the branch where i supposed to pick up the truck, they could not see my reservation!? I went thru 4 different people at the scheduling desk for the same reservation and yet the branch can't saw it. The staff was not helpful, unwilling to help. The person helping me misunderstood my intentions. I wanted to "reserve" a unit not rent the unit as I won't be moving until late september. Honestly, I didn't connect the dots until I viewed the unit with another staff member. I returned to the office and asked him to cancel the rental and he indicated that he would send an email confirmation. It has now been 24 hours and I still haven't received that confirmation. When I arrived, the trailer I had rented had a flat tire. The employee at location worked very hard to swap a good tire from another trailer onto mine because there were no spare tires available at the facility. This is the second time I've experienced a flat tire with uhaul and the second time there wasn't a spare tire available. I don't have confidence renting from uhaul anymore because I can't be sure that there won't be a flat/blowout on the road and that it won't be a hassle to get a replacement tire if this happens. I'm not sure if this is a company policy issue or a supply issue, but it doesn't make sense for every uhaul facility or roadside service not to have spare tires available.Justin R.

Upon returning trailer there was a line of at least 12 people and only one knowledgeable counter person working with someone from the yard filling in that was clearly a training. On a Sunday when it is most busy people are returning there should be an express line for those just returning versus those renting we were there for well over an hour. Another customer just backed the line and cut and was helped right away without the technician even knowing as he was so busy processing all the people in line as fast as he could. He was a good employee and was doing the best she could she said you need more of those knowledgeable employees at that specific locationHector G.
The team was great. The black gentleman(I didn't get his name unfortunately, helped me every time I was there. He went above and beyond for me and for my son. Horrible experience! Will never use uhaul again. Ubox came late. It was sitting just a few miles from my location for 3 days before my scheduled delivery date and uhaul claimed it was lost and then they delivered the box 2 days late. 5 days to transport a box 15 miles! Then they claimed the truck broke down. Why couldn't they send another truck to pick up the boxes?!? Non of the staff knew anything. They couldn't get a hold of the shipper. Most of the people in traffic and scheduling were useless and rude. Getting in touch with my local uhaul was nearly impossible. Kept getting transferred. Overall horrible and stressful experience. Go with Pods! Pods know what they're doing. Uhaul has no idea. Other reviews are similar about uhaul, I wish I read the reviews before booking. Guaranteed date is a word they throw around. They have no idea what they're doing. My box sat in the local pickup location for 10 days before they started transporting it. If I were you buy an AirTag and place it In the box to track it because UHAUL CANT!Enes S.

My experience (from both UHaul locations) is that the workers work hard and do a great job in spite of less-than-optimal computer systems and processes that have to work with (which seems to make their job harder.) 5 stars for all the employees I interacted with (the GM at the desk and one of the forklift guys moving around the U boxes outside), and 3 stars for the overall UHaul experience (waiting for the employees to work around oddities with the computer system).Tommy N.

The line to pickup equipment was absolutely rediculous. I waited over an hour to pickup my trailer. They had one person working the register dealing with everything from paying storage rent, picking up tucks, disputing charges, to finding a storage unit. I understand that there are several services this location offers, but only having one person working the registers on a Saturday morning is short sided and frankly disrespectful of your customers time. When returning, I was told that I would have to wait in line again for a refund, until I told the person I was returning to that I would lose it if I had to wait in line for another hour. They put me to the front of the line, but I felt very bad for the 20+ people that were there waiting in line. You really need to take this store in hand and focus more on your customer experience.Peter J.

The pickup side in CA was good, however the drop off side in CO was not when it comes to delivery schedules. I spent hours getting transferred around the phone tree trying to figure out when my boxes were going to actually be delivered after I was told earlier in the week it would be in the AM and I booked movers for noon. After hours on the phone i was told ultimately U-Haul had no clue and said likely 4-7pm. So I had to move my time with the movers, then the I got a text saying the truck was on the way and the containers showed up at 1. The truck driver said he had confusing notes, because the schedule said to do my delivery as the last of the day but notes said first thing in the morning. This lack of organization made the end of my move extremely stressful.Matthew W.
Only issue was initially I wanted a first floor unit but I received a unit up some stairs. The employee was very helpful in getting me switched to a first floor unit with much easier/faster access from the doors. I greatly appreciated that since I was moving very heavy things. I ramp is a safety hazard when unload through the dock area. It's the yellow bar that prevents us from using a dolly to move our items from the truck ramp and we are still having to lift heavy boxes over the yellow bar. The U-Haul facility itself was cool but me being a plumber and storing my tools here. Well let's say I get an emergency call in the middle of the night. In order to make a living for myself I need access to my tools 24/7 now there were signs all over the facility that said "for 24hr access, please use front door, which I did. Next thing you know Santa Clara police is there accusing of my fiance and I of burgalury, and pointing assault rifles at us, slamming my fiance up against a squad car, calling us liars etc... and picking up our little puppy that was with us, by the scruff of her neck and then just tossing her in the back of the squad car like a rag doll. Then just letting us go, thank you U-Haul for not pressing charges against us (even though we had not committed any crimes on your premises.)Edward A. | Expérience générale

Worst experience ever. I paid $120 a month for a year to keep a washer and dryer stored. I was forced to buy your locks and insurance. Someone was breaking into storage units including mine they jammed my lock. I was forced to get a lock smith to open the lock. My insurance didn't cover it. You are so far away from where I live I finally gave away the washer n drier just to not have to pay $120 a month anymore. I will never use U-Haul ever again.ERIC P. | Expérience générale

This storage location was good overall but maybe that's because I rarely went there. The few times I did go to the storage unit it wasn't always convenient to get in with the card swiping system. Initially you would swipe your card to go in and out just as an accountability of you using your storage unit. However, eventually they changed it to swiping in and then also swiping another box in order to open up the doors without notifying the customers. I understand the change was a deterrent for random people coming into the storage area but there was a moment I went to the storage unit and the doors didn't work and the office wasn't open yet so it was an inconvenience to me.Troilinn M. | Expérience générale

My unit was one of 6 which were broken into on November 6, 2021. While your facility was very well kept, and immaculately clean, and your staff (especially Alex Wentworth and manager Levi) were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and polite, I still don't understand how you could not have better camera coverage of at least the entrance areas nor of the surrounding parking lots, and why the alarms on the units were basically useless after hours (police said they didn't have license plate on the car that the thief used, nor any usable video to identify him, and no one responded to the alarm going off). And why the door latch could be broken on the side, rendering that heavy disc lock you recommend useless. We lost more than $15 000 of items, including a vintage and very rare guitar (irreplaceable, only 1 000 in existence), winter clothing, CDs/DVDs, computer equipment and most hurtful of all, our only copies of honestly thousands of personal photos, cards, documents and letters. As we had the smallest possible unit and we were upstairs, it seems clear to us that we were scouted by thieves before the robbery, but even with that no one could provide the police with suspects. So I have no idea where the cameras are, but to tout your keycard, alarm and lock system as being secure was clearly untrue. In short, we had a terrible U-Haul experience, and will not be recommending anything to anyone other than to stay away. I don't blame the team at the office as the choices on not having adequate cameras, actual alarm follow up or stronger unit doors are all corporate choices and probably standard at all locations (and likely choices made with cost savings in mind). We can never get our family photos and personal items replaced. That didn't have to happen if U-Haul held up their end of the bargain and truly had a secure facility.Phillip R. | Expérience générale
