Tim M.clean the mirrors and windows and make sure the van is in good running condition. We had the check engine light come on and could not use the cruise control. The U-Haul van we rented got us to San Antonio and back but it sure ran rough at low speeds and stop lights. This was a new van with only 9800 miles on it and they said they had it in the shop recently. test drive before you rent.

Merouane K.There was a break-in at the facility in Decmeber. My unit was vandalized and items stolen. It appeared that there were other units broken into but I was told I was the only one who reported items missing. I still can't understand how someone was able to bypass the key card entry at the gate, bypass the key card entry on the elevator (my unit was on the 2nd floor), break locks to access the unit and open up multiple storage trunks and damage items and still manage to leave without being apprehended. There was an entire footlocker (10+ lbs) with memorable keepsakes plus other items that were stolen from my unit. How was someone able to do all this to my unit and break into others before law enforcement or anyone was notified? Where were the cameras? Where were the alarms? I truly believe this was an inside job. Just 2 days before the incident I was getting items from my unit and the female manager just happened to be walking my floor. There has never been anyone in the building when I have gone. This seemed suspicious to me considering just a few days later my unit was broken into. Following the incident management simply told me to file a police report and gave me new locks. There was no resolution, no compensation for my loss and I was still charged for that month and the subsequent months until I was able to move my things out. More than an inconvenience to me....I feel like I wasted money and was totally violated. And in the end still had to spend more money to relocate my belongings. Police have done nothing either. I will NEVER store my belongings at Uhaul ever again.

I also witnessed others having problems. There was no parking up front even to get into office. The gate didn't close and the card system was totally ineffective and I watched many set off alarm exiting which only conditioned people to accept that. The people were nice and very helpful though, especially the manager.

stanford o. | Expérience généraleOn July 16, 2020 I received a phone call from an associate working at this facility named Abby. She informed me shoe does not normally work there and is from U-Haul Store 74628. She called to inform me that our unit was no longer secured by a lock. Our lock was missing and the door was open approximately 4-6" of the way. She closed it all the way and secured it with a company lock and red tag lock. Abby informed she has put all of these notes into our file as well. She informed me that a manager was not available and she is not an employee of that location and cannot do anything other than escalate it to higher managerial authorities. Unless we have determined otherwise, we are suspecting this is an unlawful break-in. We had no employees or trusted associates in Texas since March 9th. We have not had anyone access the storage unit since the move in day, which was me personally. I have requested a formal review of the camera systems and a police report to be filed for this. Our associates were in town on July 19th and moved out of our storage unit. On July 17, 2020 Justin Howard took photographs of the contents and they were additionally inspected by an associate we had travel last minute to perform the inspection. At first glance it appears none of our equipment was disturbed or stolen. This will take some time to determine as we have several hundred serialized pieces of training equipment in the unit. Until a comprehensive inventory is complete, we cannot rule out any malicious activity. I was informed that the alarm was not set off either. All of the indications point to non-criminal activity, but the camera footage and the inventory will be the two final pieces of information to complete this event. No-one has been able to help me. I have contacted U-Haul several times over weeks with no success.
