I had a terrible experience with this U-Haul location. I prepaid for this Hitch to be installed, and then had to almost almost two months, for it to be installed on 9/24/21. I took my car in before 9 am and got a call from installer that he could not install hitch because it was "dinged" by FED-EX in delivery. Said he would go get another one, here, locally, and install, because I needed my car back. He called at 5;30 pm and said he had not been able to leave and pick-up the replacement hitch, so had to keep my car overnight. I told him I did NOT want my car broken into. He said he would lock it up inside. When I went to pick up my car at 1 noon on 9/25/21, Demar wanted me to "pay for it". Told him I had already PREPAID for it. and where is my car. He offered NO RECEIPT and NEVER went over ANY WARRANTY nor HOW to hook-up the lights on trailer. Once I got in my car, my car said, "No phone connection", as my cell phone had been STOLEN, from U-Haul. It was apparent that U-Haul installer had gone through everything in my car and also STOLEN two boxes of mini-blinds. He dumped liquid soap, all over the carpet, in the back of my SUV. I got manager "Isiah" and he did NOTHING to help. He went inside, as I waited for him, but he failed to return. I came home and called U-Haul to report this, and told a 42-minute hold. You hire the LAZIEST, most DISHONEST people, and I will NEVER do business with U-HAUL again. You hire THIEVES. I fully believe that they kept my car, on purpose, in order to go through it and STEAL what they wanted, out of it. They put a very CHEAP-looking hitch on my car. I feel duped by U-HAUL. I expect disciplinary action to be taken on this. I told Isiah that "You people are THIEVES.".Patricia C.

Worst customer Service. I asked for a rental to drive ONE WAY to Virginia Beach. Went to return it in VB and they said I had to bring it back to Richmond and then charged me mileage!!!WEDRANACORDIC A.

The attendant may not have been the one who would normally be the face of the business and was probably trying to do both front of house and the work on the vehicle. But regardless, the vibe was not customer focused. Also, it took four hours to put on a hitch.Morris P.

The person who attended me, did not do it in the best way, I asked some questions about the trailer and he simply did not have patience when answering and he told me (if you want to disconnect the trailer and look in another location) terrible customer service, I hope never to return to that location.OLINTOANTONIO B.
The customer service was good and the truck was well maintained other than the holes in the roof of the cargo area. The holes can't be seen when the back door is open so that's probably why they didn't get fixed. I only noticed them because it rained and leaked onto my belonging. In the truck return review I asked for a reimbursement of some kind because of this. I rented a box truck because I needed to protect my belongings from the weather and obviously that didn't work so I might as well of rented a pick up truck.BRIANJOSEPH G.

Aaron went out of his way to help resolve an issue with the trailer lights and my truck wiring system. Turns out there was a problem on both the truck and trailer. The trailer was clean and well maintained, but for the wiring issue.RONALDJAMES S.
After another Uhaul location pushed back our pickup time two hours without any notice, we were able to switch the reservation to the W. Broad Uhaul location with no problem! They were quick and responsive in a less than ideal situation.Christopher G.

I dropped the trailer off. They were closed but inside and would not come to the door. I wanted to ask where to drop the trailer. Next day I called to say I had dropped the trailer the night before and the guy gives me attitude saying I did not drop the trailer where it should have been dropped. Upon arrival 10 minutes early, we waited for over a half hour to be issued a truck. The gentleman behind the counter was pleasant, but new and the more experienced associate was not assisting him. Once we finally go through the mess of pickup, he had issued us an unusuable truck that was on the battery charger. I had a 4 hour window, of which more than a half hour was wasted receiving the truck. I would not rent from this location again.WILLIAMMICHAEL B.

Trying to get in touch with live person unreal? We had first truck leaking fluid when we got to our location. We drove truck back to pick up another truck, loaded new truck, drove less the 50 miles, truck broke down, took 36 hours to have this truck tow. We call Penske and got a truck from them to unload stuff from UHAUL. Was still charge for the truck. I went back to the store where we pick truck up, both of these guys was no help what so ever, A JOKE!CHRISTOPHEREDWIN H.

Representatives were easy going. Only thing was they asked if I had a ball for the hitch... they were the ones that had installed it a week or two prior and I assumed that all parts were covered in the hitch instillation... I am unfamiliar with the equipment, so it was kind of crummy to have to come back out of my pocked (again) for a part that should already come with the hitch. Overall representatives were easy going and tended to my concerns/questions. Would finally just recommend that the representatives ask if patrons want the card on file to be charged or if there was another card desired, instead of assuming.Fati C.

I had questions about the mileage. Instead of giving me a good explanation of how it worked (which I got from my home town when I got back and asked them) he just sloughed it off by saying I didn't owe anything and they estimated the miles. The fact I didn't owe anything did not answer why I wasn't being reimburse for the miles I did not use. As for the estimated miles, he did not explain that because I honestly thought and still think I had to provide the estimated miles I would need.Ronald Z.

I made our reservation three weeks in advance. When we showed up they told us they hadn't seen our reservation on their list and they didn't have a truck for us. They sent us to a different location at closing time just to have us turn around to come pick up the truck. Since it was almost 7 we asked if they would stay open for us, and he argued with me saying there was no way we were already 10 minutes away from the store and that someone had just dropped off a truck as we left. They gave us the same truck we had parked next to when we first showed up. We appreciate them staying open to fix their mistake, but what should have been a 10 minute pick up turned into a 40 minute ordeal.Ethan S.

Make sure the vehicle isn't double booked. My reservation time got shorten for ~45 mins. I also tried calling the customer service center to tell them that we were stuck in traffic and might not make it back in time, but was put on hold for over an hour.MICHELLE W.

I am very dissatisfied with the online booking system and will not be using it again. This location was my last ditch effort to support U-haul as a company. They were absolutely fantastic! However, there are so many negative experiences with the online system it leads to employees at most of your locations dealing with frustrated customers. As such, employees are overwhelmed and unhappy leading to a cycle of frustration that resonates from the service structure at the top throughout the company. When my storage unit is cleared out after this move, I will no longer be using your services as the corporate culture is failing its employees and therefore it's customers. I have some recommendations as to how this can be improved however, they can only be shared via corporate consulting/advisory services.
