The site does not perform with customer service. The staff has no real knowledge of U-Haul practices. When i got the truck, they said that they they weren't able to help with checkout when the app was down, and they let someone take all of the equipment that I had reserved (appliance dolly, regular dolly, and 12 furniture covers). When i asked if they had anything left, he informed me that someone walked into the place and took everything. I asked how that could be if I had reserved this 2 days prior, and I wasnt given an answer. That last part added another day to my trip because I wasn't able to use the dollys for any part of my move. I would recommend a brick and mortar U-Haul location before any location that doesnt have the right staff or equipment. Never going back there again. 2 out of 5 stars.

the fact that I was doing everything online was more challenging then normal. and at the end I received a bill that didn't reflected my rental. ONLINE I had a dolly which they didn't have at that location I got charge for it. I was also charged for a cleaning fees which I made sure that I had the truck clean and filled up with gas so that I don't run to that type of issues

I couldn't check in the truck online when I returned it. It did it as a night drop when it was 3pm. I went inside and gave the key to the young man working, told him it wouldn't upload my picture to check it back in and he said he'd take care of it. Well after 5 days of me calling there with NEVER ANYONE ANSWERING the phone I contacted Uhaul directly and they also tried calling them to do the return with no luck. I hate to send my pictures I took of the gas gauge and mileage to Uhaul directly and they still couldn't get them to do the return. So after 3 days of trying to get of the Uhaul dealer I rented from I chose to drive 30 miles out of my way to get them to return the truck so I could get my receipt and another young man said he'd do it and after two more days of myself and the district Uhaul rep calling it FINALLY got returned 5 days after I handed them the keys. I rent trucks all the time from Uhaul and always have a great experience, this was the worst experience ever with them, very unprofessional and I should of read the comments about them BEFORE I rented from them. I HIGHLY recommend no one rent from that location. I wouldn't give them a half of star ⭐️ if I could.

Either improve the automated process when picking up a truck or allow for a U-Haul representative to work at the facility who can assist. The automated process is very flawed and I would never choose that option for picking up a truck. I was forced to do so at this location.

My pick up wasn't as good of service as my drop off. The male that assisted me when I made the drop off was very knowledgeable and speedy. Explained the answers to my questions well.

Please clean the cab every time. I asked if it would be cleaned and they just looked at me. I proceeded to use my own sanitizer wipes to clean it before I drove away. Each wipe was black with dirt. Door handles, gear shift, steering wheel, climate control knobs and the seat, we're all dirty. When I arrived to fuel the truck, they asked if I was returning it, and then to take a picture of the mileage. I have rented many trucks and I can return online. Couldn't they wait for me to come in the store? It felt very intrusive as if there was a problem. Definitely poor customer service for me.

Get new representatives. The people there were very rude and nasty and they tried to upcharge me for an inconvenience they caused. I have never had an issue with renting any uhual equipment, but after this incident, I will never rent from this location again.

The pickup location was a convenience store, and the male clerk was terrible! John displayed a poor attitude during both of my interactions with him. He was highly dismissive during my return to the vehicle. He added a $25 damage waiver charge to my contract; however, when I reserved the vehicle online, I waived this coverage. When I inquired why I was being charged this fee, he told me, "our corporate office requires that I add this fee to the contract because of the current hurricane weather." He also said, "Even though you declined this coverage when you made your reservation, I would not be allowed to release the vehicle to you unless I added this coverage. The company is aware of this system flaw, but there is nothing I can do about the fee." John's justification for adding the coverage was not fair, nor do I believe it was legal. I find this difficult to believe that your franchisees are allowed to treat people this way. I am 100 % certain that I will never rent from this location again!

The employee, I believe I heard people call him Simon, was incredible. He was the only one in that day, but was still able to help his regular customers and be helpful and friendly with me renting a uhaul. Give this man a raise!

Orginially supposed to pick up at Edgewater, MD and was then changed last minute to Lanham, MD. The agent at Lanham, MD gave my truck away after I had already paid for it and checked in online. I was then changed to Upper Marlboro and given a smaller truck. The agent at Upper Marlboro was nice but was already dissatisfied with my service from earlier in the day.

I would not recommend using uhaul at all. I had a horrible experience with them. They changed my pickup location the day before my move and it was 20 miles from my original location. Then they didn't even give me enough miles to make the trip let alone the extra 40 miles to get to and from the pickup location. The information on their side never matched the information I had from uhaul and I never got firm answers about any of my questions. I got charged all sorts of extra fees for things I shouldn't have. Every step of this process was more trouble than it was worth. I will not be using uhaul again in the future and I will likely have to spend another full day on the phone with customer service to get some more things sorted out. Would not recommend uhaul if you are looking for a smooth, stress-free process.
