I drove 6 miles and U Haul charged me $36 for gas. Not a great customer experience. I had used U Haul several times recently. Never again.

The gentleman that was working at the Sunoco station was very polite and helpful so he was the one positive thing about this experience. Due to the color and grooves in the floor, it wasn't until we started to load the van that we notice there was black mulch littering the cargo area from a previous customer. Some we picked out by hand as we didn't have a broom to clean it. When I returned the van, the app didn't work. It said my location couldn't be verified. I moved indoors, opened the app again, and got the same message. I called customer service and waited almost 40 minutes before someone came on the line. I told her I was unable to check the van in, but the gentleman had put it back in the service bay where it was originally parked. She connected me to another number and said I should tell that department the issue as well just to be safe, so I told that person the story. Days later I noticed I didn't have an invoice. In the end it took 9 days and 5 phone calls to get the van checked back in. Not my first rodeo with U Haul, but I never had a bad experience before.

Clueless people. Called to do everything remotely.. Read off credit card numbers over phone to god knows who and with other people there
