Truck smelled like booze in the back, not really a big deal for me, but it wasn't ideal. I had to drive 10 extra expensive kms to get blankets because they didn't have them at the pick up location. Had to wait too long on hold to get a uhaul person on the phone (both the main location and the toll free number). The people I dealt with at the counters I went to were very polite, helpful and friendly.JAYA S.

I wanted to pick up my truck at 8:30 am but the system showed me the earliest time was 10 am. I got there at 9:30 am and noticed that two trucks the same size as the one I rented were available and I could pick it up earlier. Please fix the bug in your booking software.Shahin A.

I asked the agent when I should return the truck, twice he told me 9,5 am and I came back at 9,45 and he told me that I was charged for two days. I didn't have my contract and I didn't sign anything and he told me 9,5 and not 9.15.I am so disappointed. I need to be charged for one day and not two days. He didn't do well. I am not happy. I am going to let some people about being not fair and trustable. Please my money back, this is not right.Fabrick B.

Rude owner to a customer who was forced to wait 2 hours for store to open; yelled at the cx not to give him attitude. No apology, no asking for forgiveness; just got angry at the cx when the cx complained about the wait. Impolite to me. Just an idiot of an owner.Catherine D.

Mileage charge was way over! When I called to discuss it I was told that the odometer was in miles and not kilometres which only makes matters worse. Google Maps says I drove the truck 52km, which is the same as what the odometer read when I returned the truck. When I got the bill the next morning, it was showing that I had driven 68 and when converted to km I was charged for 109 instead of 52.August W.
U-Haul called me two days before my pickup, and tried to move my previously confirmed pickup location to the far end of the city. When I protested, it was moved to here (still 15km out of my way). I also ordered a pack of furniture blankets, which were not available when I arrived to get my vehicle. Some of my furniture was damaged in the move, and I think this is partly the fault of U-Haul not having what I had ordered 10 days before. The person working here was friendly and helpful.Alex G.

The truck & location were fine (although the truck did not drive like a van as it was a very shaky ride). I was disappointed to have zero gas in the truck (gauge was below empty) when I picked it up. I was very tempted to drive on fumes upon return.Erik K.

I rented 2 dozens Furniture Pads and none were in the truck. I try to call the place the day before the move to make sure everything was there and couldn't get a hold of somebody there... Tried 3 times for 30 minutes holding the line each time.Jean-Maxime L.

For starters u could give a hoot bout ur customers..the folks where I picked the truck at was more than amazzen..caring and above and beyond truly there for ur customers..cant say the same about ur booking dept..maybe they should be better trained and taught.not lie to ur customers..I TOLD THEM 4 TIMES I ONLY HAD A DEBT/CREDIT CARD AND WOULD THAT WORK FOR THE FULL TRANSACTION AND WAS TOLD YES IT WOULD ONLY TO BE TOLD NO WHEN PICKI G UP THE R TRUCK..ONLY CREDIT CARDS OR 300 $CASH DEPOSIT..THEY DONT TAKE DEBT..SUCH A SHIT SHOW..I LOST TIME..CASH..AND MY TRUST IN UR SERVICES..THX FOR THE VERY LARGE HEADACHE..JUST A REMINDER THAT THE FELLOW WHERE I PICKED UP THE TRUCK WAS WONDERFUL...A LUCKY THING FOR UR COMPANY AND VERY LUCKY FOR ME...Patricia P.
I want to take this time to say that the Watermart location was amazing. The team at watermart should be made aware of how awesome they are. There were a ton of issues with Uhaul and watermart went above and beyond to help get those issues sorted. However, I am extremely unimpressed with Uhaul and my overall experience. You book over a month in advance and the day before you are supposed to move get a call to say your vehicle isn't ready for the day/time you want. I had someone flying in to help with the move and the day before was made aware that we may not have a truck to move anything. The system is unbelievably flawed. I called Uhaul to get it sorted and they were no help. Brushed me off, didn't care, just said â€œwell there's a lot of people who want trucks this dayâ€. So it's my issue that I booked a month in advance and others wanted trucks on the same day? They ended up directing me to a number of their scheduling team, only for me to find out after I hung up with the representative that this scheduling team number is out of service. Luckily we called watermart, told them the situation and they were on the lookout for a truck for us. Completely unprofessional service by Uhaul. Water Mart saved the day!Erin B.
you may want to talk to your 3990 Prince of Wales location, I had requested drop off at this location as its a few KM from our home. they sent us an email informing us to take it to another location. this is what they sent; Good afternoon, Sean This is Uhaul @ 3990 prince of wales dr. Nepean, ON. Due to the limited parking space in our gas station, we won't be able to take any Uhaul one-way drop off now. Could you please drop the trailer to any other locations in Ottawa if you feel convenient. The truck still had garbage in it from a previous rental. I did not book to pick up at this location and it was miles from where I wanted to rent from. I reserved for an out of town trip and the vehicle was no where near full so I had to get gas as soon as I got in the truck. Not to convenient considering I was renting for an 800 km trip. I had a reservation at a different location and was not informed of the change in pick up location until I arrived at the location I had chosen to pick up which was near where I needed to be. It was a twenty minute drive to the other location. The clerk asked me where I was dropping off the truck. I told him I had scheduled to deliver in Windsor. He asked me to pick a location. All the choices he gave me were in the United States. Obviously not possible not convenient.Brad H.

Be prepared for changes to the size of truck and to the locations for pick up and drop off. Having changes to all three had added extra stress to the whole moving experience.Mae W.

Stop trying to rip people off with your online booking, It purposely wanted me to go to the east end of Ottawa to pick up a truck going west. At least 35 km further. It did it on my first booking as well made me drive 10 miles past a dealer that had plenty of vehicles I wanted. It even changed my drop off location, there is a location within one mile of me, and it wanted me to drop it off at least 18 km away. Its just not rightDayton L.

The online way of giving back the truck kind of sucked. We should be made aware that we have to do it on site and in the car. And please someome pick up the phone there... I needed the truck for like an extra hour and I called many times and no answer. That kind of sucked. But aside from that the guy was nice.Pamela G.

We did not have the additional equipment we had ordered and returned the truck 1hr later. We also had a great deal of difficulty in obtaining the truck via the app. The app did not function and we had to call customer service..getting approval was painfully long and confusing. And to finish things off the padlock on the truck was not explained and we had to take approx 4 attempts to figure it out. And finally I got charged 60 dollars plus for a job I was not able to do. I find the entire experience aweful and hope that I never have to deal with U-Haul , which was always my first choice.Robin S.

You should always rent a vehicle with a full tank of gas so that the customer doesn't put more fuel into the tank than they used when they top it up, something that is easy to do.Lawrence K.

I rented my truck on the evening of Dec.18th. The truck that was given to me had a thick sheet of ice on the windshield while all the other trucks on the lot were cleared. It took me 15 minutes to clear it. The truck only had 1/4 tank of gas in it and with -20 degree weather I think the trucks should have it least a half a tank. Not impressed and will rent elsewhere for future.Lesley M.
