It would be nice if you could shorten the check-in process. Maybe scan and upload the driver's license photos ahead of time, or something. It just seemed to take a while, although the employee checking us in seemed very proficient.

They were only open 12 to noon on Saturday. Only one person was attending the desk and did not seem to know the process. I ordered two bags of blankets to rent still in the bag and I never use them and they would not credit me for them. The man who run the wreck shop where the U-Haul was also was not very helpful.

On-line reservation was easy. I received a confirmation via phone the morning the van was needed. Very inexpensive compared to renting from Home-Depot. Staff very nice.

I was charged for 2 days. I was under the impressions that when I took the vehicle on Friday the location would start the billing cycle at 5pm. I was charged for 2 days. Seems a little shady too me.

The facility was fine, but the 24/7 online check out process was terrible. Took >45 minutes on site before van was ready to go. Not a great experience. Would probably not recommend or use the automated online system for rental. Would have been in and out in <15 minutes with a face to face process!

The truck was great, and the service friendly. We worked with Bob. I needed a truck to move furrniture. We did not have a reservation. Bob singed us up and we were able to get it rented and on the road in about 15 minutes.

The guy who ran the front desk was short and rude - there is no other way to put it the back of the truck was completely frozen shut so I spent thirty minutes pooring hot water onto the truck to get it to open and had to smash the ice with a hammer - that is his job not mine he also didn't guide me to the truck and the truck was not prepared for the customer whatsoever - horrible customer service

A little help would be nice or at least a check if we hooked up correctly. There was no help hooking the trailer to our truck, it was stuck in a corner and buried in snow and ice. Nobody came out to tell us if we hooked it up right - we had not - did not hook up the third chain for the safety brake. Did not find that mistake until 300 miles later.

Person on site was very short worded and pushy. They did not ask nor help with the trailer hook up or drop off. They made me lift the trailer and hook it up on my own! No help with guiding...he didn’t even come outside to check. Very little customer service if any.

I rented a tow dolly and between booking online and picking up in person nobody informed me that you can’t tow an AWD vehicle with a dolly. I wasted money and a lot of time. When asked for any type of refund was simply told sorry there’s nothing I can do. I drove 5 hours and wasted $130 because you’re people aren’t trained, informed, or even helpful. When I returned the dolly I was lucky to have someone there who was a customer with tools to help otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to take the dolly off the hitch. All around very poor service and product. I’ve hooked boats and trailers up to my hitch in seconds and never needed a tool to do it. The hitch screwed down and I’ve never even seen that before.

Our truck was not pulled up for us. We had to walk to the back lot and get it ourselves. THEN we had to clean the snow off ourselves.(Fri) The truck sat at our hotel for 2 days then would NOT start. we had to jump start it (Sun) Then the next morning after unloading it would not start again. It had to be jump started AGAIN! (Mon) This is totally unacceptable, we will need to be compensated in some way or we will not be using U-Haul again.

My reservation was not honored. I called a month prior to reserve a 20' truck. When the day came, neither the location nor UHaul CS called to let me know they had no truck for me. I didn't find out until I walked in. CS Manager (on 9/29) Nina was very unprofessional and rude in her tone and demeanor. I hope that call was recorded. I would never recommend them to anyone. They have the worst CS I have ever experienced. Even when I called to complain today, I was put on hold and disconnected from 3 times. They claim a manager will contact me within 72 hours......we'll see if that happens.

I rented a cargo van, which had apparently been used previously to move some pieces of drywall. The back of the van should have been swept out to remove the dust and small pieces of drywall left behind by the previous renter. Aside from that, the vehicle was very clean and the process was quick and easy. Thanks!

The person who processed the return of my rental could not have been more annoyed that I was bothering him. He acted as though I was causing a big inconvenience by spending money there. I have a need for a rental truck about 10 times per year. This is my second visit there and it will be MY LAST!!

It was very difficult locating an enclosed trailer and 'Bob' at your Grey's Lake, IL location did what 3 other dealers would not do by locating the only enclosed trailer in a 40 mile radius and reserving it for me. I was in Illinois making arrangements for my mother's funeral and 'Bob' saved my stressful ordeal by going the extra mile. I am going to buy him dinner and drinks when I return to Illinois for the Estate sale!!! He is an amazing gent and a life saver for me!

My overall experience was negative. From my initial phone call to my pickup, the customer service was terrible. I felt as if I was putting them out by asking to reserve a truck. If I had more time to look for a truck, I would have never rented from them. When I picked the truck up, the man was rude again. I asked if I would be charged right away or when I returned the truck because I needed to move money from my savings into my checking account. He said I would be charged when I returned the truck. So I didn't transfer money at the time of rental. I walked out to the truck and got a notification that my bank account had been charged and went negative, thus giving me a NSF charge. I called the man in the office and asked him about it and he hung up on me. I was still in the parking lot so I walked back inside the office. He was helping other customers when I walked in. When I restated that the reason I had asked when I would be charged was because I had to move money from savings to checking to avoid a NSF, he said "It's not my problem you don't have any money, it went through on our end " I was mortified he said that at all but especially in front of other employees and customers! I will never go back to uhaul at the Wreck room with that kind of treatment and I will express my opinion on every social media platform possible to inform everyone I can.
