No issues here in Gulfport. They were very nice. See my comments on the pick up place and lack of service overall with uhaul on the phone.

My original drop off location refused to accept my trailer even though it was scheduled as the drop off location (Cavalier Food Mart in Austin). I went down the road the Austin Boats and Motors and they were friendly and helpful.
The online quote and registration process was super easy. I would definitely recommend this location to my friends.
Best renting experience
Nothing to improve. Everything was excellent on this end.
Upon stepping in the truck the person who helped me asked if I was there with another vehicle. Of course the answer to that question was Yes, then he told me that I couldn't park my car at the premises and that I had to use a general parking lot. I had to get in my own car, drive it to the other parking lot and walk over tp get the truck. Unbelievable. All of this while I had to wait for 15 mins outside before he drove the truck to the front.
Terrible customer service! The younger gentleman who "helped" us with the pickup was incredibly rude and didn't even help us with or listen to our concerns. Also, the wrong van was pulled for us (it was reserved online so already had a van number assigned to us) and gave us attitude when he had to get the correct vehicle that was assigned. When he pulled the correct vehicle up he simply left the key in the ignition and walked away without acknowledging me instead of handing me the keys, even though I was only a few feet away.
Had a great experience with rental from this location. Will definitely use them again.
Cargo area was not cleaned when I picked up the truck. There is a sign that states there is a $25 fee for returning it unswept and I received the truck unswept. So I effectively had to sweep the dirt from someone else's move to make sure I didn't get charged $25. In my mind, this warrants a $25 dollar refund. Perhaps that's not the case but it makes sense just as a deduction from the mere existence of the fee. Also, we were guaranteed a utility dolly and did not receive one. We were refunded for that so just frustrating because there is no time to make other plans when you find out when you're supposed to be receiving it. Finally, we were guaranteed a 7:30AM contactless pickup and then had to wait for 30 mins for the business to open at 8 and be hand delivered the keys.
The truck I was given was unsafe and should be in salvage. The passenger door would not close completely and would not lock. The steering was so loose it was unsafe to drive above 50 mph. At 45 mph major vibrations occurred. And there was a cabin seal leaking so badly the whistle noise was disorienting. I should have been paid to drive that truck. Unfortunately, since I only drove 2 miles through a neighborhood to load the truck, I didn't realize all of these issues until the truck was completely loaded. On a schedule and with a 100 miles round trip to unload, we went ahead and used the truck. However, we did have to take a separate vehicle as it was unsafe for anyone to ride in the passenger seat. There should be minimum standards and inspections done. It was the worst rental vehicle I have ever had!!!

During the last 12 months, I believe I have rented U-Hauls 4 â€“ 5 times to move kids in and out of college. This move was a nightmare. The sequenceâ€¦ â€¢ Reserved the 6x12 trailer from U-Haul a week before my pick up on 6/5 â€¢ I received notice the night before picking up, validating the pickup location â€¢ @1:30 I go to the pickup location (about 15 mins from my house) and was told that all U-Haul systems are down, and I could not pick up the trailer. Also, that he was â€œruining people's days all dayâ€. I explain that picking up at some later date would not work. He told me to call other U-Hauls to see if I could find a trailer. Completely unhelpful. â€¢ I head towards a full-service U-Haul facility while waiting on hold with them. After traveling for around 20 mins and finally reach someone and told again that U-Haul systems are down and they can't rent to me, and that I should call the 800 number. â€¢ I call the U-Haul 800 number and was told any of the centers could help me if they would have called the 800 number. They set me up at a location 5 â€“ 10 mins away. â€¢ I was not familiar with the location and asked 3 times for the address. She insisted on texting and emailing it to me. I received neither. Luckily, I had the name and called them. â€¢ The new location is almost 45 mins away. From the second location. I drive there while calling to make sure I can pick up the training. They said all was good and I could pick up. Their systems were fine. But they asked if I could have the trailer back the next morning. I pointed out that my reservation that they were looking at had a drop off in Dallas 4.5 hours away. They mentioned it would be helpful if I could bring the trailer back to themâ€¦ Yeah right, great service! â€¢ I arrive at Austin Boats and Motors to pick up the trailer. At first, I was told that I had to have cash because their systems were down. I again told them I had verified on the way there and that this was not acceptable. They huddle and figure out how to use a card. â€¢ I am pointed to the trailers at the back of their property, that the young man was headed there to meet me. I head there and wait. And wait. At 20 mins (over 2 hours since I left to pick up a U-Haul 15 mins from my house) I go back up to the office. They apologize that they had forgotten about me. If they would not have rented me the trailer parked behind other same sized trailers, I would have gotten it myself. Finally, I arrive back home almost 3.5 hours after I left. â€¢ This put the packing way behind. Thanks U-Haul. â€¢ I make it to Dallas and unload. I take the U-Haul back and a young man there explains â€“ our systems are down so I can't check you in. Of courseâ€¦ He then tells me I can drop off and get a receipt emailed. Okâ€¦ But then he points me to the back and tells me to drop off the trailer myself. Luckily at 62 I am still fit and was able to wrestle the 6x12 trailer off the hitch myself. U-Haul, you did very poorly on this trip.
Staff are great. Helpful and happy which makes all the difference.
Can I get my original quote and confirmation?
We waited a few minutes to get helped, even though there was ample help in the store. The one person that was at the counter, kept making small talk (even though they had already helped that customer) while we stood waiting to be helped. While the clerks were helpful, there was a computer issue that further delayed us. If you need a hitch, buy elsewhere, this place has everything way marked up.

We are extremely disappointed that we were not offered the insurance. We had a hit and run and now are paying for damages out-of-pocket. We always take the insurance when offered and would have done so this time as well. But were never asked about it.
This whole experience was colored by the fact that the location we were supposed to pick up and had a confirmed reservation didn't have our equipment - nor did they do anything to help us out. So Uhaul moved our reservation here which cost us another 20 miles round trip at .69 a mile. This location was not willing to help us out on the mileage which isn't surprising I guess. Then we had not chosen the insurance but it somehow showed up on bill - between the extra mileage and insurance our cost was almost double. Lastly, the equipment was pretty new and clean by Uhaul standards but we still returned cleaner than we got it. There was a melted candy cane in truck cab and the back was pretty dirty - not that we cared for our purposes about the back but there are stickers all over saying to return clean. Staff at location friendly and you could return after hours - had to leave car in lot next door.
