The first place we were told to pick up the UHaul was not helpful at all. It was at a gas station, and they could not give us any information. U-Haul never emailed me the code to get the keys, so we were just stuck outside. I called a separate location (665 N Halsted, Chicago) and I was legitimately shocked at how rude the manager was. He yelled at me because I thought one truck was mine, but I was confused. He mumbled and was so rude to me. He even didn't tell me that there was no parking, and I almost got towed.
Your staff is completely unhelpful. The truck was full of snow. The door was frozen shut. I had to ask them to come out of the trailer to show me how to open the back given that it was frozen shut. I also asked for explicit instructions on how to return the keys and the response was vague at best. The U Haul was dirty (yet WE were charged a cleaning fee???) and it came with half a tank of gas. When there is a blizzard in Chicago, these trucks should come with full tanks so there are no gas issues if you get stuck on a highway. I was actually astounded by the lack of professionalism, and the lack of care applied to your vehicles by your staff. The entire day I was thinking about a better alternative for my next event. That is not what you want your customers thinking about (ie how to avoid uhaul next time).
Get employees who are not rude too the customers and helpful I have never been treated with more disrespect and not helpful the one employee that was there my truck was stuck in the snow and my window was piled up with snow and he was very rude I will not come too that location again I paid 50 for my truck too be reserved and it wasn't ready
The cashier/employee at the location is extremely rude. I've rented from this location several times and have interacted with this same person numerous times; he is always very unpleasant, and I've even seen him raising his voice to other customers. This is by far my most convenient location, but I will drive a few more miles to avoid this location in the future. He 100% deserves to be reprimanded.
Such a well run location! I have rented many a U-Haul this location ran like a well oiled machine, no delays, straight forward and friendly staff.
The truck I rented on 1/24, while technically "clean" and free from trash, was extremely dingy/dirty on the inside. It had clearly been smoked in many times and had a sticky grime over the entire interior. More direct to my negative experience was the poor service at the counter. My app wasn't working properly to get my truck, so I had to pick up my key from the desk. The guy there basically yelled at me and said I wasn't using the app properly, tossed me a key, and literally said "if the truck isn't out there for some reason, it's not my fault and I can't help you get a different one." Truly one of the worst customer service interactions I've had with any company in my life.

Had to go and find attendant. Wouldn't do a drop off inspection. Ended up using the website to complete stop off.
really bad customer service not the first time the guy not helpful for nothing the only reason I rent from this location is cross the street of my business
I did not get a return confirmation from the local site. He did not come out of his office and only pointed to where to put the car trailer. (it was 5:30 on a Saturday, dark, and not a particularly safe looking area of town at night). Rachael in Lenexa Ks took care of the return, alerting them, because it had not been received back yet.
It's 2 locations in one. The address for the other location was visible but not this one.
The parking lot was well marked where to park the truck and the key drop off was very visible helping me to complete the steps via the app and leave the truck in a safe location. I was apprehensive to use the self service app for drop off but it worked out great in combination to such a well designed drop off location.
Couldn't find the attendant. Back and inside of truck were dirty.
Staff was rude, unhelpful. Solicited money for help detaching trailer.
There were no moving blankets provided even though I rented them. I didnt notice the missing blankets until i got to the job site. Therefore I had to move my items without moving blankets. I would like a refund and a future credit for this miss.
Not only did the employee lie about not getting the keys to the truck back, he also falsified the gas used in order to charge me more. My entire trip was 6.4 miles and I was charged for 7.4 gallons. He then also charged me a $150 cleaning fee when the truck was returned clean. By far, the worse experience I ever had at any store in my life
Lazy inconsiderate and rude employee.
Whoever this guy is who runs this location needs to be fired. he was rude, unhelpful, and seriously unprofessional. i move about once a year and will never work with uhaul again, and if i have to, i'll avoid this location at all costs, my experience tempted me into contacting the better business bureau. i reserved a truck for a move and when i showed up- no truck was available. how can you be a company that revolves are helping people move but not follow through on guaranteeing a truck? ( the most important part) i'm honestly surprised the guy who runs this location hasn't been fired yet because the people who he was working with before seemed to have also had a horrible time as well.
I reserved a truck and a dolly, hand truck and moving blankets for the move. I showed up at 8am to pick up the truck and supplies, and Raymond behind the counter informed me that although the truck was there, none of the supplies were available. No apology, he just blamed uhaul's website. They obviously knew this at least the day before- why would they not warn me the day before so I could make alternative arrangements?. I only had the moving elevator in my building from9am-12pm and this forced me to scramble to try to find equipment at the last minute. Not only was Raymond incredible unhelpful and unapologetic, but he was also just rude throughout the entire experience. Never again will I use UHaul
I had spoken to a uhaul rep and confirmed my reservation for the following day. My original pick up was scheduled at 7:30 for my move. I get a phone call at 7:15 telling me they don't have a truck for me and that they couldn't help me. Fortunately I was able to get a truck at a different location that further away and at a later time. It's disappointing to have spoken to someone the night before to confirm everything only to get a phone call 15 minutes prior to your pick up that it's unavailable. How does something like this happen?
The car was a little dirty but the check in process was pretty annoying. The app was not working because it would not let me take photos so I spent a lot of time doing that. Also the process of finding the car, finding the key box, etc took a lot of time to walk back and forth and search for things. Overall I was able to check in and I would still use this location in the future
I get email contract you have charged $48,33 for one day rent truck. On my bank accaunt price is diferent, you charged $58,03???? Explain to me please!!!
I rented 2 dollys with my reservation because I needed them to move heavy furniture. Arrived at the run-down facility and drive around for 15 minutes trying to find someone to talk to about picking up my trailer. End up having to call the location number to find out where someone is to pick up the rental. Finally find the person to talk to about picking up the trailer and he tells me they dont have the dollys. I ask him where I can pick some up as I need them for my move, he shrugs and says I dont know, you're out of luck. Guy could not care less, terrible location, terrible service would not use this location or recommend to anyone. Ended up having to run to a hardware store and paying $46 to purcahse 2 dollys. Would love to get refunded for those but doubt that will happen.
Expected a store to buy packing items. Was difficult to figure out how to find someone to talk to.
