Promise is not kept on the charge on extra miles. Also I bought the truck with more than $15.00 worth of gas than the gas I took. I was told I will get credit for it but nothing happened.

The office is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking (great), but it wasn't immediately clear where the UHaul truck should be parked. I saw two other UHaul trucks at the back of the lot and somewhat near each other and so assumed that's where to park. But some signage near a designated parking area would be helpful.

This was the worst customer service I've probably ever had anywhere. And I want to make clear that I think the problem was not Priority Express, but the way U-Haul does business. First, I reserved everything for a one-way rental on line beforehand. I showed up early on Friday evening, and there were customers that had to be attended to first, so by the time I was served, it was after my agreed upon pickup time. U-Haul computer system would NOT allow me to go ahead with the rental - they sort of didn't recognize me, even though I had rented before, and they had my license and credit card information, and I had a ticket number and everything. They claimed it was because I was late for the pickup! It was an hour and a half before my rental finally went through. The CSR had to go through the whole thing on the phone with U-Haul corporate. I was given a key to a 10' truck. I wanted to see the storage area, so I attempted to open the truck. The mechanism that opens the back door of the truck was busted, and it wouldn't budge. I hurried back to the counter (they were almost closed) and told them to give me another truck. The CSR was then on the phone with U-Haul corporate, and they were telling him to tell me to get a truck elsewhere. I said "No, you are going to give me one of those other trucks!" CSR said that the other trucks were already reserved, and I said "Well, un-reserve one of them and give it to me!" Got the new truck and went off. Less than 24 hours later, at my destination, I dropped off the key to a pleasant enough CSR, who said that she would check my truck in, and I could just go on my way. It was Saturday afternoon. Well, on Monday afternoon, I get an additional bill from the destination U-Haul place, charging me for one more day, and extra "coverage" that I already paid for! They had me checking in on Monday afternoon! An extra $54.00!! I had to call this other place and straighten them out. U-Haul Needs the following: 1. Better CSR training. 2.Better and much more user friendly "online automation" that actually works when you show up at the counter. 3. More transparent pricing. I wasn't told about any taxes when I reserved online. They could easily have added that in, so that I knew what was coming. I'm very disappointed overall with the way U-Haul does business.

At the two locations we visited for this rental Picard Dirve and Flower Hill, the staff were very pleasent and very helpful. They had to sort out the mess caused by the booking made on the web site.. At the fisrt location, trailers were not available even thought I was allowed to reserveon ontthe site. The second locations only had an In Town trailer and we requested a one way. We were able to change our plans. PLEASE fix the web site.

I had reserved the trailer for pickup at the Beechcraft Avenue location, about 10 minutes from my house, with light traffic. I was diverted to the Parklawn Drive location, 30 minutes from my house, with heavy traffic. When I got there, I was told the trailer wasn't available, and I'd have to go to the Flower Hill location. The doofus inside never came out to even look at the trailer. I had to hitch it up myself, hook up the safety chains and connect and check the lights. He never asked the ID numbers on the trailer, and got them wrong. He couldn't get his computer to work to do the check-out. He said I had to call your 800 number to do the check-out, and I had to use my own phone.

I would have preferred to be given a choice of drop off locations. This one was farther out of my way and didn't open until 9 am. Others were closer and open at 7. But the gentleman at this drop off location was very helpful and fast.

The personnel at both the pick up and drop off locations for this one-way rental were fine and the locations were convenient. The problem was with the truck itself. It was advertised to "seat 3" but that is only if the 3rd person is a small child. The middle seat has almost no legroom and is cramped and uncomfortable. For a long drive, it is unreasonable to expect an adult to sit in that tiny seat. In addition, the lack of electronic windows and door locks in such a big truck meant that the driver has to basically crawl across the cab in order to unlock the door for the person trying to get in on the passenger side. On a truck this size, the windows and doors absolutely should be able to be operated from the drivers side door. But worst of all was the lack of either a back up mirror or a back up camera, and not even a rear view window. It should be prohibited to rent a truck with only side view mirrors. Backing up was exceedingly difficult and very dangerous. I would never rent a truck like that again.

The employees that helped me at this location were excellent and helpful; they deserve 5 starts for the service. Unless they are responsible for maintenance of the trucks themselves, my complaint is not related to their performance. I would rate UHAUL equipment rental with 1 single star, though, for the poor maintenance and refuel practice we experienced. Our complaint is that the truck we rented, in addition to having a very stiff and finicky parking break release, did not have functioning headlights nor dashboard illumination for night-time driving. I did not discover this equipment failure until the end of the day when we started the truck up at night to go return it. We were unable to return it that night as driving without headlights or dashboard lights is very unsafe. As a result, we lost time that night trying to find the headlights ourselves to no avail, and then attempting to resolve the issue with Roadside Assistance, which we opted not to do as they warned us the wait for a service person to even just show up would be anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes. We were not willing to wait as we'd just spent the ENTIRE day moving our 1-bedroom apartment out of a Uhaul storage unit and into the truck, then out of the truck and into our new apartment. Our unwillingness to wait was compounded by the fact that we were staying the night in a town 40 minutes away as our apt was not yet livable, for obvious reasons. So, instead of returning the truck that evening as we'd originally planned, we were forced to leave the truck parked at our new apartment overnight and then drive to the other city to stay the night. We had to get up extra early the next day in order to get back to the truck and drive it to the original pick-up location within the 24-hour rental reservation period to avoid added charges. All this time and aggravation because the truck was not well-maintained. On another note, Uhaul's practice of starting a reservation off with a vehicle's gas tank at 3/4 full is a blatant effort to steal from its clients who, upon returning the vehicle must GUESS how much gas to put in the truck to bring it back to the original 3/4 level. It would clearly be customer service-oriented to receive the truck at full and return it at full (as is standard practice among rental cars). However, it seems that Uhaul wants to put the customer in a position to accidentally replace more gas than they actually used, and offer no opportunity for reimbursement of the money the customer spent on excess gas. Meanwhile, if the customer returns the car with less gas that the 3/4-full tank, Uhaul has a right to charge the customer for the difference. This is a manipulative and customer-antagonistic practice. We will be avoiding Uhaul in the future whenever we can.
