We were originally scheduled to pick up at Timpanogas UHaul, even called to ask about adding a dolly and was told all was good to pick up early. Clearly, we were talking with a call center. Got there and location was CLOSED due to illness. We FREAKED OUT! Called the call center and they rearranged to pick up at Tracy's. We should have had a notification or a discount. May not use Uhaul again because of this. Very unprofessional.

This was NOT the problem of Tracys Auto Sales Location. It was the UHAUL corp office. It took over 1.5 hours to get approval to leave with the dolly. We were traveling > 300 miles and this delayed us from leaving. Tracy Auto Service was prompt in hooking up the car dolly and getting it ready in less than 15 minutes. The person on the phone took over an hour and kept dropping the connection or putting us on hold 45 mins and a second call time of 30 minutes. The pickup location was fine, the mechanic was very helpful and did a good job in getting it ready. The issue was during the phone call and getting the paperwork completed.


Everything turned out great but it was odd that they changed the pick up location, time of day, trailer, and length of reservation. It all worked out o.k., but I would think this would cause problems.

We were instructed to use the web system to check in the trailer--the web system was not allowing us to check in the trailer. There was a request for a scan of a bar code from the drop-off location--the only bar code we could find was on the overnight drop box and it wouldn't scan properly. Stayed on hold with Uhaul another 20 minutes to try to check in the trailer after hours. This is on Uhaul--not the drop-off location, unless it is their responsibility to have the barcode readily available and working. We finally got the trailer checked in manually with the help of the drop-off location owners.

The after hours pickup and drop off are quite awkward and in each case didn't work for me. (why does this location close at 2pm on a Saturday anyways?) Calls to Cathy were needed both times to bail me out. Further my final invoice was incorrect and once again Cathy needed to takes steps to issue me a refund. Good truck - crappy after hours pick up and delivery.

We were very disappointed with the condition and cleanliness of the 17' truck, which cost $174 for a 24 hour local move. The entire cab was obviously not cleaned, or even wiped down prior to our rental. Not only were the steering wheel and dashboard filthy, but the seats, arm rests and the entire interior, as well. Based on the cost of the rental and current health crisis as it is, a customer should expect much higher standards from Uhaul. Also, the air conditioning strained to blow anything but warm air when the truck was traveling at higher speeds and/or up inclines. Very disappointing experience.

Directions for UHAUL after hours return need to be fixed. Current directions say to go to uhaul.com but there is no checkin/return link there. You have to go to uhaul.com/share to get to the return page.

They charged me more than the original quote and when I asked him why he didn't know but wouldn't change the price. That is shady, to be given one price and then it increases when you pick up the equipment. No-one was there and everything was locked. I had to call and wait for someone even though it was within my one hour pickup window.

I reserved a small trailer + insurance for $26.28 for 12 hours. At 9 a.m. Sat. I picked up the trailer and again confirmed the bill as $26.28. I asked were to park it and that it would be around 7-8pm when it would be returned. I dropped it off at 7:34 pm. I wish someone would have told me about an after hour charge of $21.28 bringing my bill to $49.95. There was ample opportunity to indicate this additional chg. on my Reservation and by the Attendant. I won't be doing business at Tracy's again

Truck was dirty and not disinfected! No windshield fluid to clean windshield which was dirty and covered with bugs. I was told this was just a transfer station- no services to equipment. Also, I was informed I'd need to go to SLC for an auto transport. BUMMER!

I was misinformed by the Layton, Utah office (where I picked up the truck), about the hours of operation for the Heber location (where I was to drop off the moving truck). I was hurried by the Layton location and not informed about an after hours extra drop off fee if I was late to my destination. I got to Heber one hour BEFORE the informed closing time to find out they had closed two hours earlier on a Saturday. I called the phone number posted on their door and was transferred to U-haul's corporate office. I was informed that there shouldn't be a problem and to just put the key in the drop box. The next day I was charged an after hour drop off fee of $21.18 ($20 + tax) by the Heber location. I immediately called them and the Heber office refused to reverse the extra charge. Though this may be a U-haul policy issue, and not the Heber locations fault, they could have offered to make things right by reversing the ridiculous extra charge. This reflects badly on U-haul and how an independent location treats their customers. I own a business referral network covering 40 cities throughout northern utah and interact with thousands of businesses locally. I will take my business elsewhere next time and recommend others do the same. Sorry U-haul. A simple customer service opportunity could have gotten you lots of referrals. Instead it has gotten you a negative review.

We were given a trailer with a flat tire. We had to wait an hour and a half before roadside assistance came and changed it. Luckily we recognized the flat before loading the trailer. After the tire was fixed, the trailer worked great. When my husband returned the trailer, an older gentleman told him to pull inside the gate and go into the building. My husband asked the employee inside if there was anything he needed to do. The employee responded, “Well first you need to wait before you pull inside the gate until I tell you.” My husband explained he had already been instructed to pull inside the gate by an older gentleman. The younger employee never said another word to my husband. This location needs to teach their employees better customer service and how to check their equipment thoroughly before renting it!

Said I had to have it returned by 8am. I waited an hour, never opened. Tried ALL numbers, called corporate and Ms. Jones did as well... no answer. A very BAD drop off experience.
