James was extremely arrogant and disrespectful. He refused to look at the details of my online booking (on the U-Haul app) and refused to get me the truck. Absolutely despicable behavior and a horrendous experience overall. Will never take this service and will definitely NOT RECOMMEND U-Haul to any of my friends.

WAVERLY A.It is Sunday, the day after UHaul became forever known as UFail. I have already received not 1, but 2 emails asking for feedback, the last one at 10:30 pm local. Really, at 10:30 on a Sunday night?! But no problem, I'll give you what you asked for. Yesterday afternoon, I showed up at a UFail lot to pick up a truck as contracted, with my online link open and ready to go. Or so I thought. 10 minutes later, with no online response, I walked inside the UFail office, thinking that I was doing something wrong. The counter dude said "No, we don't have any UFail trucks available. Maybe someone didn't bring it back." I'm thinking, "WTF. Did I buy a scratch-off ticket or rent a UFail truck? And how the f... am I going to explain this to MY customer. You see, unlike UFail, some of us actually have to perform as promised or be fired. Some of us build our reputation on customer service. But not UFail. No, counter dude looked at me and said "There's a truck at another UFail office, about 5 miles away." So I'm back in MY car, pushing down the Interstate and thinking "Who's going to pay for MY miles and MY gas and MY late fine?" Umm, that would be ME. So I roll in to the next UFail and counter dude #2 says...wait for it...,"No, we don't have any UFail trucks available" WTF, are you kidding me? Him, "We only have One-Way UFail trucks." I look at him--and he looks at me. And then he says, "Hmm, I probably shouldn't send you to a THIRD UFail lot." I think, "Ya think?" He says "Okay, I'll give you a truck." So now I'm supposed to thank UFail dude for doing me 'a favor'? End of story, right? Oh. I. Wish. Next comes checkout. Look, I use apps every day to send pictures, no problem. Pictures of checks--front and back, pictures of documents, pictures of me (no not those). But to Ufail...I can't send pictures. No, the UFail website is even worse, if that is humanly possible, than its truck availability. So, 'Favor dude' gives up and asks for my license AND of all the other info I had already entered into the UFail system. Clearly, he is now having just about as much fun as I am. End of story, right? Nope. He rolls the UFail truck around and says all the damage is marked with grease pencil. That's cool I Ithink, except for those 2 new creases on the hood, as he walks past. By now I'm so late that I roll up the UFail rear gate way too fast and have to hear that I did it wrong. Not "Oh here, I'll let me show you how to the keep the UFail from doing that." So now I'm supposed to think that makes everything even?!" Let's summarize: UFail substitutes a lottery for availability, breaches contracts freely and repeatedly; deploys misleading and non-functional online systems, and provides abysmal customer service. To whomever reads this, here's your chance to go against the UFail grain. Pretend that you don't work for a company that would rather ruin someone else's reputation for a buck than try to salvage their own. Make this right.
David W.I was expecting to be able to use the app to check in but this location did not have that. Plus, they did not open until nine so I had to wait for them. I had gotten there at 8:30, Somehow my order had changed as well and I did not notice until I was billed. The truck had a leak in its roof which caused some cushions and a couch to be wet after it rained. I will be more likely to use one of the larger stores in the future.
