We were told to get there before 6pm because the place would be closing. We arrive at around 5:30pm and no one was there, they had already left. Then I called the number of the owner, they didn't have a hitch or even knew about our reservation. So I had to waste more time driving to Walmart to buy my own hitch when uhaul on the phone told me hitches were available. Got back to the pick up site and the box code wouldn't work so had to wait yet another 30 mins until the owner came out to open the gate for us to get our trailer. Then had to wait another almost hour before his phone would work and we could finish checking out the equipment. We did not leave until after 8pm when we should have been able to pick everything up at 5:45pm when we got there. Also. I was charged extra for the protection plan and insurance that I did not agree to. I had no idea I had been charged for this until yesterday when I checked my bank account. I have insurance and didn't need a protection plan. Nor was any of that disclosed to me. Very very upset about that whole ordeal. We drove 65 miles to pick up this trailer in the rain and it put us HOURS behind. If this is going to be the typical experience with uhaul I will not use them again. And we are a military family so we and our friends move a lot. I won't recommend them either after this whole ordeal.
