The only reason I would recommend it is because it is the only location in Summerland, BC. I reserved a 15' truck for my move and the truck in the size I requested was not available. They did not have blankets or dollies available, so I had to use whatever was in the truck. They were able to provide me a truck, but it was significantly larger than what I needed. They gave me a 26' truck which was the only available truck. Fortunately they were able to accommodate by giving me the price I was originally quoted. The 26' truck was difficult to maneuver , which is why I requested a 15' truck. I would highly recommend for the location to follow up with trucks that are not returned on time as it impacted the move significantly.

This is the second time dropping off to the location ,, NEVER AGAIN ! this guy is a crook and slime bucket to the 10 th degree First time would not even check me back in Second time was even more frustrating not only with him ,, when we called for assistance to your help line they were USELESS just adding to the frustration NO HELP AT ALL ZERO ! sorry haul ,, no more business from us and definitely won't be recommending it . IF ASKED U CAN GUESS HOW WE WILL COMMENT ABOUT UHAUL POOR POOR POOR !
The fuel return line from the engine to gas tank was disconnected. I discovered this after driving from the depot to my house, where the moving helpers noticed that gasoline was spilling dramatically from the hole in the gas tank all over the road and my driveway when I backed in. This depot has the least helpful people ever. I have twice ordered trucks to pick up from this location and they have NEVER had any of the supplies we ordered. Both times, we have to drive an hour and a half round trip to the nearest real U-Haul location to get the ropes and blankets and stuff. The staff at the depot didn't care one bit. It is a shady business too. It's a gas station as well as a U-Haul depot, so I suspect they drain the tanks themselves because the tanks are always almost empty, forcing customers to fill up at the gas station. Please investigate them and consider not using them. They make U-Haul look really bad.
We ordered 2 dollies and only got 1. The back of the truck was covered in gravel...not just a few rocks but enough to make me wonder if the guy who rented before us was hauling gravel. It was rather pathetic AND my wife had to search for the one dollie she did find looking from truck to truck.
I was told to go find my own dolly by looking through the other trucks, and when I turned around the service attendant was already walking back to the store. I looked through all of the remaining trucks but couldn't find the dolly I had needed. The back of the truck had bits of garbage left from the last user. He also entered the wrong city for my drop off (even though I made my own reservation online). I was also asked to sign a copy of a contract before it was emailed to me to read.
The only problem with picking up the truck in Summerland was that I had reserved a truck in Kelowna, and was then phoned the day before and told no trucks were available, and would have to go to Summerland or Penticton. Not very good, U-Haul. A â€œreservationâ€ should count for something.
I apologize for this being long-winded. We were supposed to pick up our truck in Kelowna (booked about a week in advanced). The day before we were supposed to pick it up, they called and said our truck was only available for pickup in Summerland (45 minutes away). We were supposed to get a confirmation email with the new location details but never did, so I had to call back and get it over the phone. I had already done the online check-in days in advanced, however I was asked almost every question again, in person. The guy helping us, didn't even show us where the truck was, or do a walk-through with us. He gave me the keys and said "I think it's out back somewhere, go find it, make sure it starts and take a pic of the fuel and milage". After all that, he tried emailing me the invoice but again, it wasn't working. I gave him two other emails and it still didn't work. Then he printed it up for me instead, but the charges were cut off of the page. I just ended up taking a picture of the screen. THEN he informed me that the two dollies and blankets I had ordered, were not at that location and I had to go to Westbank to pick them up. THEN as I was driving down the highway, I noticed it smelled like weed. That's when I noticed half a joint, sitting where the odometer is. (Good thing I didn't get pulled over for something). Upon closer inspection, there were old snacks sitting up on the dash and greasy finger-prints on the stereo buttons. This is unacceptable during the best of times, but right now, during the Covid 19 pandemic, this is ridiculously negligent. There was obvious zero effort put into cleaning/disinfection between customers. On the upside, the fellow who helped us when we dropped it off in Victoria was very friendly and pleasant to deal with. I never really make complaints unless its something really bad. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service we recieved.
Checkin was more of an inconvenience and annoyance to the employee than anything. Didn't show me the truck or anything just took payment and pointed me out back. Truck wasn't swept out very well with used wipes in the cab. Furniture pads unavailable (third time this has happened with uhaul rental).
Keep an auto transport trailer permanently at this location.
Trailer painful to hitch up
The equipment that I booked on-line was not in the truck - which then made me late into Vernon as I had to stop in Westbank - I was very impressed with the Westbank site. The equipment was put in my vehicle very quickly and that was very much appreciated.
Truck was very dirty and needed an alignment. Employee was friendly, quick and accommodating. Besides the messy/slightly under maintained truck it was a great experience. Would recommend.
np help from staff. doors to trailer frozen, not ready to rent, no supplies avvailable, trailer no in open had to move other trailers my my self. worst retal possible.

Have more than one person looking after things who's focus is on uhaul and not one his gas station
I've faced complications with uhaul overall - on the first contract with insurance being charged for a month when I had asked, and got agreement from this location, to have it not added to the renewal. On the second contract I have been overcharged by uhaul by ~350 and since I was using debit, had to float the final payment even though it had already been removed from my checking account (ie I was not credited the amount charged to my debit, before having to re-pay the final charge). Both were situations I just wanted to work through in collaboration. One employee was absolutely amazing and helpful, the other was confrontational, rude, and feel he has a lot to learn about co-solving problems with clients. Perhaps it's a cultural issue in dealing with women. Overall I've spent 4.5k on uhaul this summer. The location owner and the one employee I dealt with mostly were amazing. Feedback for regional uhaul - got a very rude text the morning of a renewal with RCMP collection threat for non return, when I had extended the contract the night before.

Keep devices well maintained. Trailer breaks didn't hook up/work and hitch connection was concerning. Trailer itself was in good shape. Also, would be nice to have more units at this site as pickings are slim.
I did the online checkin to save time, that didn't matter. I still spent 45 min waiting for them to get the computer working. I ordered a two wheel dolly and all they had was a 4 wheel furniture dolly.
The uhaul member was friendly and helpful and the whole experience being my first time was excellent
