Make sure the level of the fuel gauge is agreed to when returning the vehicle. When returning the vehicle, they never checked it themselves but never confirmed with me. It was annoying that I paid for gas on my own to bring the gauge back to the point it was when I'd received it, only to later find out on my emailed receipt that the rental location marked it as a bit lower than what it actually was and charged me to fill it themselves. Not enough to go back and fight it.
