We had a terrible experience with Uhaul and would not recommend them to anyone. Their mistakes cost us at least 2 hours of time which is a lot when you're trying to move. And their “customer service†rep could not have cared less when we called to complain. I don't appreciate hearing “what do you want me to do about it†when they've messed up. 1) the lady at the pickup location was 20 minutes late, so we stood around waiting for her to show up. 2) the truck that we reserved a month before was not there, so we had to wait for them to find another one. 3) we had to drive 15 minutes out of our way to pick up the other truck they found and then were given the run around by them and sent to a third location, which then sent us back to the second location. 4) my husband had to leave his car at the second location to pick up the truck but drop the truck off at the third location as there was only a key drop off there, so we had to send another car to take him back to his car after he dropped the truck off. Uhaul made our moving day even more stressful and cost us valuable time. They did give us back the $50 reservation fee but that was not enough in my opinion for the stress and loss of time they caused, as well as dealing with their unpleasant “customer supportâ€. I will never use them or recommend them again.

Évaluations des clients
The dealer I went to was absolutely terrible, pick up and drop off was not where I reserved. Man was extremely rude
The guy didnt take debit and told me if I wasnt there before 9 even though my reservation was for 10 that I wouldnt get my uhaul because he had stuff to do very un happy with your service
The owner at this location was TERRIBLE. He was rude and hardly spoke English. We needed an adapter for the trailer light plug, which the owner comfirmed he had in stock. While he was filling out the paperwork on the computer (which took forever!) my husband hooked up the trailer. He came inside to get the adapter and the guy told him he didn't have any left after he confirmed he had some! So we had to unhook the trailer and go to Napa and get one (which was half the price the U-Haul guy was asking!). We came back, hooked up the trailer again, and finished the paperwork. All in all, it took an hour and a half to pick up a trailer that was already reserved and having to deal with an owner with a poor attitude. I will not go back to this location and I advise everyone else to do the same.
Instead of having a customer run from one location to another, have everything ready and available at one location. I went to pick up location, and was sent to another, then once paperwork was done at the second location. I was then sent back to the first to get the trailer. Extremely displeased with UHaul nothing but run arounds and hassles!
The operator was rude and disrespectful. He was having computer issues and required me to do extra driving in order to get the trailer. I did not enjoy my interaction with him and will not rent from him again. I will also encourage my friends to not do business with him either.
Firstly I booked a storage locker through Mini Storage and a truck. I phoned to ask a question about it and they had not reserved the truck for me and didn't have any more. I then called u-haul main #, reserved 17' truck and said if there was nothing where I lived I would want to pick up either Abbotsford or Langley. The reservation ended up being a 26' truck to pick up in Surrey-TO FAR! I then had to scramble to only end up with a cargo van from Aberdeen Bottle Depot,I was given the # there, it was not there it was at a store on Bradner Road - the man there was very nice, the overall experience - AWFUL!
First complaint that i have is that i ordered a trailer over a month in advance and the closest location to pick up the trailer was Aberdeen. this is a long comute to pick up the trailer befor i could start moving unless i wanted to wait till 6:30 which defetes the purpose of picking up the trailer and that was all the way in langley. then when we got to the bottle depot to pick up the trailer it was not there. as suck we had to fill out the paper work and take a 5 min drive down some back road looking for a trailer parked behind an old barn. When we found the trailer it was parked in on loose gravel in a ditch so that it was almost impossible to move which made it difficult to line up with the truck and then when we had it lined up the part that attaches to the ball was all rusted that it would not open to accept the ball. We tried for about 10 min to get the trailer onto the hitch so i went into the gasstation that it was behind and asked for help. the lady told me that the man would be out to help me. We continued to try and the man never came out. Evenutally we got it on and had to drive all the way back to New Westminster to start packing. It was a very stressful way to start, and i must say that the eemployees were not at all helpful.
Not a good set up. Poor communication on agents part; although, he did know what he was doing re paperwork. He got frustrated with the computer and had to ask for my drivers' license & mastercard a couple of times. The truck was at a location 2 miles at least away from the outlet where you do the paperwork. No walk around is done on truck so no chance to point out discrepency of fuel guage. I did take a cell phone photo. No extra equipment I ordered was available. I phoned to get directions and was hung up on. Not a pleasant pick up for me.
The gentleman that was serving us didn't seem to know what he was doing, and was not particularly helpful.
No real Uhaul signage. Old bottle depot....smells like booze. One bundle of boxes to sell...of only on size. A place I can assuredly tell you that you do not want your name attached to in any way. Much better locations in the area to place a dealer I am sure.
the worker who is working in that location is very bad dealing with costumers. at the first time i went there he yelled at me very badly. when i returned the truck he was so unhelpful person. i really recommend you to change the Koran guy who is working there.
This is a "front" site for another one, further away on Bradner Road, I think.in Abbotsford. It is really a bottle Depot, and not really a U-Haul site. The printer was so old it could not work, so I could not get a print-out of my return receipt. It was promised to be sent to my e-mail... but it has not yet arrived....!!! normally, this would be within minutes, and it is now more than 6 hours later. They have no inventory or signage at this site like what should exist for a real U-Haul site. Again, Please investigate this site. I was even worried to leave the vehicle there, lest I was being hoaxed out of it. I still hope all is well and the vehicle is back in your inventory, safely.
Website states this location is open at 9:00 am, but in fact, is not open until 9:30 am. Also, the trucks cannot be picked up at this location, you must drive 5 km down the road to pick it up.
check the cab--dog hair & empty bottles
NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I RENT FROM ANY U-HAUL. RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING IT WAS A NIGHT MARE AS SOON AS I WALKED INTO THE BOTTLE DEPOT TO PICK UP MY RESERVATION. i HAD TO WAIT 2 DAYS TO ACTUALLY GET IT ( NEEDED IT THE DAY I HAD THE RESERVATION FOR ). I was passed back and forth from the head office in Van. All the way to Dallas, USA. No one had a clue what they were doing, so kept passing me back and forth and losing my call. I spent a total of 18hrs. on the phone to just get the u-haul i was promised for my reservation date. The owner at Aberdeen bottle Depot was the rudest man i had ever met!. He also seemed to only have a slang worded dictionary as those were his chosen words. It took me another 6 days to finally get threw to get my money back as they charged me for the 2 days prior that i was suppose to have recieved the u-haul which i did not recieve for the 2 days after. Aberdeen depot man , doid not appear to under stand a word of english when i tried to explain and just plulled another word out of his slang dictionary. I even had one of the over 50 people i talked to try to tell him we had already paid and he said we could not pick it up till we paid. ( I had a confirmation number.). Way too much more to write. I wish i had read the reviews before hand and i would never had to go threw such a bad experience as i would NEVER HAVE RENTED ONE . ( Everybody seemed was a manager and supervisor. I swear i have travel byn telephone the world there and back. NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN!. I Bet they never publish this!
I was extremely dissapointed with the service. I was called at 8pm the night before I was supposed to pick up the truck and my confirmed time was changed with no explanation. When I arrived at the newly corrected time the next day there was no one at this location. I then had to phone the individual again and was told to drive to a new location to pick up my truck:again with no explanation. Service was unprofessional and i will not be using it again unfortunately due to this. I found u-haul to be unprofessional and unreliable.
The equipment was in great condition, clean & quiet. It was available for pickup on short notice. My only issue is the expense. I think $260 cad for 1 17'' truck + an auto hauler for 24 hours is too much. I have rented from uhaul in the past and will most likely be a customer again in the future but the pricing structure you have might make me look else where to try to find a better deal. Other then price I am a satasfied customer. Thank you , Justin Visser.
the girl at the garage was great but the man at the depot tried to charge an extra $5 on the hauler rental and the lady at drop off didnt want to give us our $13 deposit. i would reccomend this location but would warn people to make sure they have prices at the beginning before going in.
do something about the smell.... PU
I'm sorry, I don't usually complain about bad customer service, but this is one for the record books. I recently rented a U-Haul from the bottle depot on the corner of Bradner Road and the Fraser Highway in Abbotsford, BC. I entered the establisment and was shuffled in by a 50-60 year old Korean male who I think owned the place. He made me sign the papers immediately (fuel filled, cab cleaned), and was then showed the vehicle. Wow, the unit was FILTHY! Really filthy! Pop and beer all over the floor. Like someone who owned a bottle depot was driving around with alot of bottles. I didn't say anything. I figured I was in a rush and couldn't wait around. I was also surprised to notice a mere 3/4 full tank as I drove away. I didn't realize how expensive gas in a U-Haul would ring me and my wife up. I cleaned the cab myself when I arrived back in Penticton, cigarette butts and all, but had to purchase $40's worth of tarps for the floor, because I wouldn't come fully clean. When I returned the U-Haul a day early, I mentioned the dirty box of the truck, and the didn't believe me. When I mentioned the gas he snapped! He got right up in my face and started yelling "LIAR! LIAR!" and cursing at me! I brought the truck back at the same level he had left it at and he threated to fine me! Instead of getting into a bigger spate in front of about 10 customers and employees, I told him I would refill the entire tank so he wouldn't fine me. He is directly next to a gas station. I don't understand how he couldn't have filled it initially. Anyways, there are tons of witnesses, and this is WAY beyond bad customer service. That guy NEEDS lose his U-Haul license, or whatever entitles him to rent them out. I challenge anyone to rent a unit from him and be satisfied. I want satisfaction...and not in the form of U-Haul coupons. I'm not reliving that situation. Thanks for listening. - Christopher R. Duchaine (rented August 21 - 23)
First, please make it clear on the website that truck reservations are not necessarily for a location near the customer. We were moving from Surrey to Victoria and yet had to pick up our truck from Abbotsford, adding at least an hour travel time to our already tight schedule, as well as increasing our gas expense. Secondly, please make it clear that the rental trucks are not at the Abbotsford office but in Matsqui instead. If we had known this in advance we could have gone directly there and saved both time and nerves, as we were unfamiliar with the area and had already planned our driving route at home. Thirdly, we waited about an hour for the clerk to figure out how to use the computers (we tried to help). It seems more training is required.
Owner/operator was late on opening store and was very rude and told me to f*** off if I didn't like the way he does business.
Many things need to improve. We did not get a call the day before. We had to call. When we booked we said we needed to pick the trailer up by 8am. When WE phoned they said the store opened at 9:30am. We finally got them to arange another location way off the beaten track. When we got there the owner did not appear to have very good computer skills and I had to help him navigate the U-Haul web site. It took 25 min to do the paper work. All in all we were 1 hour late for our pick-up and we had to make lots of calls and basically did the scheduling ourselves. YOU NEED A BETTER SYSTEM. This is the second time we have used U-Haul with very similar results both times. Your operators really need to get some computer skills. Yikes
I am so upset with my rental that I want my money returned to me! The service at the bottle dept was rediculous! It took over 1 hour to get a car dolly that I reserved it was a wreck, broken wheel tie down, lights did not work, wheels out of balance. I had to make shift everything just to get my antique car home. If I could have found some other rental place near by I would have left that piece of crap right where I picked it up from!!! Unless you compensate me for my rental I will never use or recommend your company again! Expecting my full refund ASAP.
