When I reserved one way van I was not told I would have to pick up at another location further from my home. Pick location customer service was unimpressive. Van did not come equipped with tie down straps & I received no basic advice on loading van in a safe & stable fashion.
You can actually try and give customer service. We reserved a 20' truck in norristown for a 7am pick up and the day before we were told we can only have a 15' truck (big size difference) from Colmar at 8am. Not happy already but we drove the whole way there to find out that our truck was not returned and there was nothing they could do. They tried calling the person before us but their hands were tied and I had to call the 1-800 number. So staying there on hold for 27 minutes someone answered. By this point I will admit I wasn't the best person but Brielle who was my customer service rep was very short with me and not very helpful. A truck was located but it was 40 minutes the other direction and I had to do a self pick up. Well I had issues with that and had to call Brielle again who actually sighed at me on the phone. At this point it is 10:30am and I have people at my house waiting on me. Someone I was transferred to a Danielle, lovely person, and finally found the keys to the truck and was on my way. I am not sure of your business model but I have to tell you I will never rent from you again and I will make sure anyone I knows doesn't as well. Also, I don't think the question â€œCan you change your move to tomorrow?â€ Should ever be asked. When you reserve and receive a Confirmation then you should be responsible to figure it out for your customer (former customer at this point).
This was my first time using U-haul and to be honest I was incredibly disappointed with the Philadelphia customer service/overall experience. We specifically reserved a trailer that was a couple minutes from our house and when reserving the trailer they said it was available at the Philly location. Two days before we were suppose to pick it up, U-haul called to tell us that they changed the pick-up location. The new pick up location was 50 mins away outside of the city. This was a huge inconvenience and delayed our travels. Not only did they change the location, but they also changed the pick-up time to significantly later then requested. When I called to clarify I was further disappointed by the poor attitude and blaming the customer for not reading the online reservation correctly. When reserving the location there was no indication that this would not be the location. I understand 'preferred' does not necessarily mean you will get this location, however this was not indicated nor communicated to us. The high rating for the pick-up location was due to that man being very helpful, however the renting experience and change in reservation was very frustrating and unprofessional. My overall rating for U-haul not by location would be 2 stars. Also this survey is worded in such a way that it is hard to give U-haul real feedback, focusing on the person/location is only part of the overall experience.
It was horrible, he never explained if equipment was kept an extra day you would have to pay double insurance and the Dolly would be charged twice.
The owner was extremely helpful and courteous. He was knowledgeable and made my rental experience a pleasure. I would definitely rent from him again.
The U-haul website could not locate me at the site. I spent 45 minutes trying. My mapping program saw I was at the location. I had to go to shopping center for U-Haul to see me, but then I could not inspect the van. Everything was fabulous about the rental experience, but the computer program during pick-up. I lost an hour of my rental time because of the program.
We dropped the equipment on Sunday night so we didn't talk to anyone but I got a final invoice Monday morning and all was ok.

Awful customer service, didn't have the equipment we needed and ordered and was rude when telling us they just didn't have what we ordered on the day of our move
Owner never proceeded my return and I was contacted for 2 days about when I would return the vehicle. On the second day I was told that a supervisor would check into it, so I went myself and asked about the issue and was told that they were very busy. He then processed the return. In my opinion this is no way to run a business. I get that he is busy but this should have been done by the end of the day if not right away. Poor customer service is never acceptable.
Everything was wonderful and I would recommend using them again.
The mobile pick-up process was super easy. The truck was clean and drove well. My only complaint is that the lockbox containing the truck key was unlocked when I arrived and it wouldn't lock after I returned the key when I was done. I called U-Haul's 800 number to report the situation because I was uncomfortable leaving the key in an unlocked box but other than that, the experience was great!
Nothing! After hours pickup through lock box and mobile check in was so convenient. The staff was efficient and friendly at return. . Would definitely recommend to anyone!
