The customer service was prompt and courteous. However my disappointment lies wth the cargo van that was provided for my use and is the sole reason for the 1 star rating. I used the van for less than an hour and parked it empty on the street outside my home while I ran in to use the bathroom. When I attempted to leave to return the van it was stuck in the snow! Since this is Buffalo, I expected better vehicle maintenance. The tires had no traction and would not go forward or reverse so I had to call roadside assistance which I declined to pay for in my contract.. I explained my situation and was told someone was on their way at no charge. The tow truck driver attempted to move the van and found what I said was true. He then hitched the van and pulled just the front tires onto the pavement and tried again unsuccessfully to drive it. He then towed the van entirely onto the pavement and I was finally able to drive it back to the location. By that time it was nightfall, the location was closed and I had to wait outside, alone until I was able to get home.
The trailer had card board in it from the previous rental.
The site manager was great!

Brought back at 3:45 and email confirmation said after 6pm. Booking the rental was a nightmare!!!!!!!!
The first man who gave me my truck was super nice however my driver side headlight was out and when I tried to call to inform them I couldn't get through. I called customer service to extend my rental and they told me they couldn't do it but I could drop it off and get the exact same truck, which was a waste of my time, but the man at the store said I could have just kept my first one, so I did. I turned in my rental and a different employee cashed me out, said he would either wavie the headlight being broken, which was not my fault, or he would wavie the extra 10 miles I drove for the waste of time from the service rep saying I needed to turn my truck in, he also informed me the service reps do this constantly. So I end up paying for errors caused by the company. Also it was not clear when I made the reservation online that renting a dolly price was price per day, not per rental as I thought. Overall would not use uhaul again.
The tires desperately need change. This truck is not safe to drive.

It was 15 degrees out, so yes, the windshield could have been cleaner, but that was the ONLY thing I could find fault with! Great people working HERE and online! Highly recommend them!
Systems went down when I was there so while we tried making the reservation it actually went through multiple times but a representative called me and removed all the requests promptly...

Can't improve on perfection, the GM Angel truly is a gift to your company. I've never received such a warm welcome and professional service. I'm sure in your line of business it's not always an easy job, I'm sure I wouldn't be able to do it, but Angel made it look effortless and although I hope I'm not moving anytime soon, I know where to go when the time comes!
Hire honest employees
The customer service was great but the van I rented was extremely dirty, I had to cover the seats.
In the past I always had some issues with a truck. This time everything went smooth, fast, efficient and organized. I am very pleased with both pick up and delivery locations, personnel and the performance and cleanliness of the equipment.
I had to go through two different Vans. Both vans were VERY disgusting and poorly maintained. Myself and my companion passenger had to sit on seats that were VERY VERY dirty, to say the least. Both seats were full of dirt, lots of food crumbs and two candy wrappers. I was very disappointed that I was NOT able to use the center console cup holders for 2 bottles of water because both cup holders were very dirty and disgusting from prior spills of pop or some other beverage that was very sticky and coated the bottom and part of the sides of each cup holder. This was very much visible to see once you're inside sitting down. Further, the first van that I was assigned had several dents, dings, scratches and a bumper that was damaged. It's not a huge deal, so as long as all of the damage and scratches have been accounted for. There were only a few places that had the X circle stickers that I know that indicates damage that has been previously accounted for. But there are many other places that did not have these X stickers. I went back into the store to let them know of my concern. my concern was quickly dismissed and I was told that it's not a big deal don't worry about it. I am worried about it because I don't want to return the equipment that I'm using with the same marks that have not been accounted for only for a different employer or whomever else to notice the damage and charge me for this damage all because it wasn't previously inspected or accounted for. The employee assigned a different van to use. This fan was in worse shape on the inside interior being very dirty and disgusting along with there being several other dense things scratches and this vehicle had bumper damage as well. Most of which did not have these X stickers the signify prior damage that has been accounted for. I was very clear what the employee about my concerns, and they were quickly dismissed and I was rebuttaled three different times. Until I finally had a stand My ground about the issue. When I rent from u-haul, I don't expect everything to be 100% perfect, as the equipment is well used. But I do expect a clean vehicle that I'm not afraid to sit in or put my bottles of water in instead of having to hold them while I'm driving. Further, to have my concerns quickly dismissed and to be rebuttaled it's completely unacceptable. If I have a concern, then you need to pay attention, not make a pathetic excuse for why you don't want to do something about it or address the issue. This location used to be great to do business with, especially since this location is one of the oldest in Buffalo. anytime I think about that I need to run to u-haul, this is the location I think of. After my experience I started looking into alternatives to see what other companies provide similar rental truck services. I found that Hertz also provides rental services as well and a few other companies. I am well aware that there may be other companies that I could do business with, but I don't know who those companies are, because I've never had to think of going to another company before. The fact that I got pushed to a point of thinking about where else I could go maybe really think about doing business with U-Haul. I know this location can do much better, but after seeing these two employees that do nothing to resolve simple issues makes me feel that there's a big problem with U-Haul. These employees clearly are not new employees with less than six months experience at U-Haul. Additionally there are signs that are transparent both when you walk into the store and on the paperwork that inform the customer that there will be a $25 surcharge for vans being returned in a poor condition. Either they're not charging other customers the fee, or this location's employees really don't care. the whole time I was renting the van I was worried about being charged this fee when I return it back, because technically it's being returned dirty it needs to be cleaned however, it's not because of me that it needs to be cleaned it's because of Prior customers. Very very disappointed with this rental experience. The only reason that I didn't voice May concerns when I return the van because I felt very intimidated by my experience when renting the van by the employee telling me that it's okay not to worry about it and making feel nervous and being very lazy not wanting to resolve my concerns that were very simple.
There was a residue on the windshield probably from the sanitizer spray that was used, but it did obscure the windshield somewhat. There also was a strong cigarette smoke smell to the cab.
