First off location is listed as able to check out in store when it's actually a pickup location so 8 would not have chosen it and then could not get in truck with no one but online people to deal with so I lost about 3 and a half hours just trying to get a truck I could use but my time started when I initiated the phone call

First of all, I was told to go to the Claxton,GA U-Haul location by 1pm(I got there at 1230)in order to pick up my 26’ truck, but when I got there I was it was not ready to be rented out and that U-Haul was suppose to if called me to tell me to go to a different location but never did. Then I was told by U-Haul to go to brooklet, ga (Urmi food mart) to get one. I arrived there and yes there was a truck there but the attendant there was incompetent when it came to using the U-Haul computer system. She said need three different phone numbers, she had to keep calling U-Haul for assistance. All this was going on while my pregnant wife was in my truck in the parking waiting for me to get truck. It took so long to get truck there my wife has to leave me at the urmi food mart so she could be home for when our kids got off the bus. Now I’m stuck at the food mart with no vehicle until the attendant can figure out how to get me a truck. Finally I spoke to her guide on the phone and we did it all over the phone. By the time I got the truck it was 2:35, my wife left, I had a crew of family and my former US Army Soldiers waiting for me at the house for over an hour wondering what is going on. All of this would of been avoided if, one person (who cared) would of made one phone call to me in order Inform me of the change. I would rather utilize my short bed truck 20 times over before using U-Haul again. Soldiers are already aware of this and they vow they will not let it happen to them either.

This was the absolute worst experience I had with Uhaul. When I went to the pick up my reserved uhaul the lady at the rental place did not even know how to enter the information. She was nice but did not know much. She called the guy in charge of the Uhaul in the area. He tried to help her but it was a struggle. We waited for appx 30 minutes just to check in. Once we checked in the uhaul the lady did not know how to open the Uhaul or find the key. We looked around for about 10 minutes just to find the key and the combo. I ordered a car tire to bring my car back. No one knew how to attach the car to the tow. I spoke with the guy on the phone and he told me he can walk me through it. I did not trust him"walking me through" attaching my car to this hitch. I thought when renting a uhaul the service provider is supposed to know how and check these things for safety reasons. I know that is what they do in Charleston area. The thing that upset me the most about this is that when I asked for a refund for the tow the guy on the phone who I think is a supervisor got nasty. I told him that I would just drive my car back and to refund me the money. I asked him when he would refund the money he said that he would get to it when he get to it. Of course when I get to the Uhaul location back in Charleston they are looking for this tow dolly!!! I spend a few hours on the phone to get the situation resolved whileb I'm in the middle of a big move. Very inconvenient.

This has been an awful experience unlike my last from pickup to drop off. Picking up my truck took an hour (including a 30 minute phone call with uhaul). I showed up to the pickup location in Brooklet, GA. Uhaul said this was 13 more miles out of the way but the closest location. It actually was 22 miles and 30 minutes out of the way from Claxton, GA. I don’t know where uhaul got the information but I had multiple phone calls throughout the week with uhaul. I’m sure there was a closer location. The night before pickup, I tried to call the confirmation number and it did not work. At the pickup, the truck was unlocked but no key. The employee at the gas station said they did not have a key or a lock box for the truck. I then called uhaul and began logging in online. I got to one point on the login process and it tells me to pickup in Claxton, Georgia, where I live so I know there was a closer pickup. The lady on the phone told me to logout and log back in. I did and it went back to pickup in Brooklet. I continue logging in, nothing about the key. The lady said it should have given me a code to a lock which I found on the back of the truck. Questions had already been asked about the inside of the vehicle... By the end it gives me a code to the lock. Inside are the keys, cool. Dropping off, I do the lockout process online. There is a person there at the location also doing the same thing. No need for us both to do it. At the end, it wants me to pay another $4 for extra mileage. That’s nothing but it’s the principle. I made a comment and said I disagreed with the charge. I go to give the lock to the person helping me and they said it’s not theirs. I said uhaul gave me the code. They said that’s against policy. I just left it with them.

The drop off was located at a convenient store that had a tiny sign out by the road showing Uhaul on it. No other vehicles on lot and only saw one small trailer in back. Clerk had no idea how to take return. Store manager took pictures of truck, no paperwork was signed and no proof given to me truck was returned. I passed a Uhaul rental shop on way to this location because 800 number gave me this place for return. Good thing my mileage allowance did not go over due to longer distance for return. Found out the truck was going to be rented out next day so it was convenient for Uhaul but not for me with additional driving needed to get there.

The location I picked up the Uhaual was an absolute blessing and Mark was very helpful!! After the hours on the phone with uhaul trying to find out why I did not recieve a phine call because I made after hour reservations for another pick up at another location and I was transfered to atleast five maybe seven different people to try and get the combination to the lock box where my original pick-up was suppose to be, which was The WareHouse in Statesboro Georgia. My driver and I rode around for over two hours on the phone with Uhaul because my reservations where then in Fayetteville Ga, then connected me to someone one one Fayetteville NC, by the end of talking to Like I said 5 to 7 different people, my reservations where not right no where near my location. I made reservations 20 minutes from where I live and was only using the u haul to move from my town home into a house. I had movers waiting on me, while this should had only taken about a hour, it ended up over a four hour ordeal! Thank God, a good hearted gentleman somehow got connected through all of them switching me to this person to that person...He was all the way in Illinois!!! His name is Shawn Edwards, he actually found this location Food Mart address: 6645 Ga HWY 67 Brooklet,GA and got me in a uhaual within 20 min.!! He was so kind and very professional and apologized amensly for all the trouble that I had gone through. I assured him I would put in a good word for him and he definitely needs to be recognized! I wasn't another number to him, he made sure I was taken care of and not handed over to another person on another line! I wish I could think him in person!! Unfortunately due to all this delay in picking up the truck, all movers had to leave early, then it rained Monday. So to sum it all up, better communication with the after hour rental reservations definitely needs to make some changes with the whole operation, including the ones who are making the Reservations. This was very very stressful for me!!
