While the location was fine I will never understand how U-Haul makes you go through the process online of choosing a pick up location and a drop off location as well as putting in your payment information etc. ALL FOR NOTHING! I went through and picked a trailer based on location that was closest to me However the evening before I was told that I have to pick it up at a different location. I probably would’ve picked a different trailer had I known this. The new location was not convenient and not in a good section of town at all. The people there were very nice and I appreciate their help. My second problem came when we went to drop it off at the designated Drop off location that we had selected only to find out that they weren’t excepting drop all of that size. No one informed us of this and we were told to take it to another location over 10 miles away before I called to find out why. We have been traveling all day and the last thing we want to do is go on additional 20 miles round-trip out of our way. Overall very disappointed with U-Haul and not sure that I will ever ever rent from U-Haul again

This was my drop off location. I made plans for return with plenty of time because their site said they closed at 5:00pm I returned the van at 3:30 pm. And no one was there. They were closed I returned the van with a half tank more fuel than when I picked it up with no compensation and was charged 11.53 for extra miles. I did not vary from the specific route I noted online. I do not understand why I was overcharged.

Late opening and slow checkout. I should have done pre-checkout I believe it was available at this site. I did see lock boxes and assume they’re for keys and contract.?

You scheduled me for pickup at a location that was not open on Sunday. He had to make special trip in and I had to pay my moving help an additional $100 due to the delay. The final bill is not correct as I did not receive the 24 blankets and I returned the trailer that day.

The employers at this location are not reliable. We had a 9:00 appointment and the business was scheduled to open at 9:00, but nobody arrived until 9:30 and then it was only because another customer called the employees cell phone to tell him we were waiting. When the employee did arrive he was rude and unhelpful. He seemed hungover or otherwise under the influence of something. He did not apologize for being late or talk to us at all aside from asking questions so that he could pull up our reservation and telling us where to sign. The location was trashy, with molded fast food cups sitting out and packing materials spread all over the floor. I would not return to that location for a uhaul pickup or for the company’s landscaping services.

Only complaint is that I wasn't told that it needed to be at least a 1/4 tank when truck was brought back, even tho it was in the book I was more focused on moving so needless to say I didn't read the pamphlet. My fault but I still think the gentlemen should've mentioned it. So I drove 8 miles and was charged $30.00 on top of the 61.00 I'd already paid. Not my idea of a good time.

I placed my reservation online for a 15 foot truck in Blacksburg VA. A day later I received an email that said a 17 foot truck was reserved at a location in the next town over. I called that location for clarification and the person took my number and said he would call me back which he never did. I called the 800 number for clarification and the person said I should go to the Blacksburg location for my reservation. On the rental day I was dropped off at the Blacksburg location only to find out that they didn't have my rental and that I had to go to the other location. I called the 800 number and the associate said that she had no notes of me calling before which is false. I was now stranded as I had been dropped off. I had to arrange transportation to the other location which was closed and had to self checkout. The truck only had 1/8 of a tank of gas. Very disappointed! Moral of the story...USE BUDGET RENTAL!

I was supposed to pick up a 10' truck at Poole brothers automotive at 7:30 am using the app but when i got there at 7:15 there were no trucks there! I called the help line and got switched to NRV Mulch & Stone around 7:30 for a 15' truck at 8 am. The place opened at 8 but no one showed up until 8:40, there were 5 people in line including myself. The app wouldnt work to tell me how to pick up the keys at 8 am. I had to wait till 8:40 when the store manager showed up. Then there was no gas. I mean NO gas left in the truck when I got in it. So not only are we 70 minutes behind schedule on our move but we have to stop and get gas. We had to be out of the apartment by noon and we didn't even get to the apartment with the truck until 9 am there about. There was stuff left in both the cab and the truck bed from the people who used it before us. It wasn't to the point we couldn't use it but it definitely wasn't a great experience. The truck drove fine and didn't have any issues with the truck once we got it. Our reservation was until 12 noon and we returned around 12:10 pm trying to use the app to turn in the keys and the app didn't work then either. I didn't have any choice but to use uhaul this time but I sure wouldn't use uhaul again if I had the option.

I was told I would only be charged for the $29.99 day rate for only one day regardless of picking up the uhaul on 7/14 @ 6:30 pm and returning it on 7/15 at 8:30 pm. I was told I wouldn't be charged for two days as long as I dropped it off by 11:59 on Sunday. I made it extremely clear I only wanted to be charged for one day ( plus mileage) otherwise I would have made sure the truck was returned in 24 hours. Not happy with this "customer service" what so ever! This is fraudulent

Despite how terrible of an experience I had with Uhaul as a company, this location was perfectly adequate. The staff came in within twenty minutes on a Saturday to help me get a truck after Uhaul had completely screwed me over. The truck was in good condition aside from the wipers being unusable and was clean.

Our confirmation had this address but when we arrived there was no trailer for us and instead we had to drive back 30 min to another town to get a trailer. We got no phone call or notification of the change from uhaul. Frustrated beyond words.

I am so upset by this uhaul order and I swear I will never ever use uhaul in this area. I was asking for a 17' truck when I made the reservation in the morning. In the evening, I received a call from uhaul telling me that I have to change my pick up location, which is 10 miles away from the designated location. That's fine. 10 miles doesn't cost too much fuel. However, when I went to pick up the truck the next day, it turned out to be a 15' truck. Uhaul secretly changed my order and didn't notify me. I took a picture of the odometer when I started the truck. It was at like a little less than 1/2 fuel. I returned that truck with equal amount of fuel. But what pissed me off is that uhaul charged me more than 12 dollars for fuel. They said they fuel was like 5/8. This is ridiculous. I emailed a complaint letter to the email address they provided. No response. I called then countless times, and it seems that their customer service never works. Fellas, never use uhaul service in this area again. Otherwise you will regret it.

The owner of the facility was not onsite when I picked up my truck even though his business said he would be open. I had technical difficulties with the Uhaul online app and tried to contact him and he did not answer for several minutes and was rude when he finally did answer and told me to call someone else. I was at the facility for over an hour trying to pick up my truck. When I was finally able to gain access to the keys, I incidentally also grabbed another set of keys. The owner called me the following day and told me I would be charged additionally for taking the keys and hung up on me as I was trying to explain my current situation. He then sent me a text message that was attempting to belittle my intelligence. I will never return to this location to rent a vehicle and I will tell anyone else to find somewhere else to go as well.

Rented to be picked up in Blacksburg and spent a lot more on a hotel there to be close to pickup. Notified evening prior that I would have to drive to Christiansburg to pickup. 20 miles round trip and I could have saved on hotel. Should not let me rent from a location that does not offer trailers. Personnel were not there at my pickup time. Had to wait 10-15 minutes for their return.

NRV Mulch & Stone was fine. My issue is with the U-Haul system. It is TERRIBLE and DISAPPOINTING! I reserved my trailer online a month or more ahead of time to be picked up at a location in Blacksburg VA. I paid for the trailer online two days before pickup to save myself time. I only discovered by chance when I called to confirm the pickup time that the Blacksburg office does not handle trailers because the town will not zone them for it. They had no record of the reservation, but when they looked it up they told me it was in the system, and that this is not the first time this had happened. I had to scramble and change my pickup location to NRV in Christiansburg at the last minute and I had to be satisfied with a smaller trailer than I required. NRV told me this this is a recurrent problem with u-haul despite U-Haul being told about the issue multiple times in the past. Indeed, there was another person picking up a trailer at the same time who had the same problem. YOU SHOULD NOT RENT TRAILERS THAT ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND YOU SHOULD NOT LIST LOCATIONS AS PICKUP POINTS THAT DO NOT CARRY THE LISTED EQUIPMENT!!! In short, I am very dissatisfied with my u-haul experience, especially since I had to leave behind items!! Anyone looking to rent a U-Haul better be certain to verify on the phone with the pickup location personally and be prepared with a backup plan for another rental since there is good chance U-Haul will disappoint them.

The pick-up location I listed on my reservation was changed, and I was never informed. I called the original pick-up location the day before my pick-up to ask why I hadn't been contacted and they informed me that the location had been changed and apparently they had entered into the system that they had called me, however I never received a call. The next day I called the new location 5 or 6 times to try to confirm that they would have it ready for me, and no one picked up. Once I got there things went smoothly, however there was an unnecessary amount of stress for me during this move, which could have been prevented with better communication on U-Haul's end.

Tried to contact the owner by phone. Said to meet at 8 and he never showed. Reserved a Uhaul online. Many hoops to jump through, but easier than dealing with someone who wouldn’t answer the phone.
