Pickup location was 10 miles further away from where I wanted to pick up in St George SC. In order to get the keys I had to cross a highway to another building. A building adjacent to the rental van was leaking raw sewage.
Linda, the customer service rep, who handles the bulk of the UHaul business at Cusacks Auto Sales, was friendly, kind, professional, and she was communicative, answering all of our questions. She was patient with us on the phone, as well, when we called asking questions about pricing and policy. She did a great job and really appreciate her. The process by which a UHaul customer rents a UHaul at this location is tricky and inconvenient. We completed the UHaul paperwork in a liquor store (very uncomfortable-- we're Christians) across the street from the UHaul location. It seemed that Linda also worked at the liquor store; she was behind the counter and sold liquor to a customer ahead of us. Once we completed the paperwork, we then had to drive back across the street to Cusacks Auto Sales (where we first arrived) and wade through mud and water to access the UHaul in the back of the yard. We returned the UHaul later the same day that we rented it. This return was 5.5 hours after we rented the vehicle. Linda knew wer would be returning it early; she was fine with that and she instructed us on how to deposit the key in the locked box for safe-keeping until the following morning when she planned to have the UHaul vehicle checked back in by another woman in the office. However, our UHaul truck was not checked back in by Cusacks Auto Sales (thus closing out our rental and completing the process) for another 2 days: rented on Tuesday, 4:30 PM, and checked back into the computer and closed out on Friday, 9:30 AM. We received a phone call from a UHaul district rep on Thursday evening, 8:30 PM, asking us to let him know when we planned to return the UHaul. He stated the computer system indicated that we still had the UHaul. We immediately called him back, telling him that we returned it the very day we rented it-- 5.5 hours after completing the paperwork to rent it. In the end, we were not billed for any additional days. However, the entire close out process was very unprofessional, untimely, and unreliable.
We had to go across the highway to a liquor store to get any service to get our uhaul trailer. Was a long process and walk. Trailer itself was good.. The lady who took my credit card information also stole my info and used it for her own purpose. Trash people.
Was an wonderful experience. Very helpful and understanding staff as I needed a tow dolly for a couple of days and when i had to return it early due to issues with the car I was due to transport they were extremely helpful in returning it. Once repairs are made to the auto I was to transport I will not hesitate to use this office again and recommend to anyone that would need this type of service.
Very good customer service
Called a day before scheduled drop and the man that answsered didn't identify the business name; when asked questions about drop off, he was very vague and short with me. Not helpful at all. The next day, we tried to find the drop off location; once we found the address, there was no one there and no indication how to turn in keys. The actual drop off was across the street from signed area, there was no personnel where signs were located, took several phone calls to figure out where actual drop off was to occur. Frustrating and took a long time, but the actual person who helped us eventually was polite and professional; this was a woman and not the man I had spoken to the day before.

Drop off is not where the office is, but they were very friendly and helpful at both locations. It's the country, so it's understandable to do it that way. I'd use them again if necessary.
HAVE THEIR BUSINESS IN ORDER! What a complete MESS! It took 2 hours from pulling into the parking lot to puling out with the UHaul! We were evacuated for Hurricane Irma due to my daughter having special needs and requiring power for her equipment. We went to PA because that's the only place I COULD go where I had family that wouldn't charge me to stay there. After 6 days our power was restored and we headed back to FL. My van broke down outside of Orangeburg SC. The Uhaul was closed for the day and so we waited until the next day, and then found out they had no vehicles to rent us. We had to rent another car to get my family home and drive an hour South to get the UHaul, then an hour North back to get my van, then drive back South home! We pulled in at Cusacks Auto at 1:05 - we were told he couldn't find the keys and that the lady who runs it was at the liquor store across the street and he'd figure it out, to hang tight. So we sat in the parking lot with 4 children and a dog for 20 mins, then drove over to the convenience store to get everyone a drink and use the restroom. The man that was at Cusacks walked into the convenient store and said that the owner was still working on it. We drove back across the street and waited another 30 minutes. I then called Uhaul who's only solution was to go elsewhere. We had already drove an hour, wasted an hour and would have to drive another hour back! While on the phone with a representative the man came out and asked us "Did y'all go over to the liquor store and fill out the paperwork?" "Why would we do that sir?" "That's where the lady is. they just park over here. you have to go over there to the liquor store to do paperwork. She just told me the keys are in the truck because people rent these trucks from the internet" OH MY WORD! So we go across the street again and the woman running the Uhaul took another 45 minutes to do the paperwork. My husband had to get on her computer and input information because she didn't "understand" Not only that we had to contend with liquor store customers and callers! We didn't pull out of the parking lot with our truck until 3PM! $486 for an 8 hour drive home during an already exhausting & stressful situation!

The drop-off point was unclear. I called the number on my contract twice and it told me 3 different places. The drop off closest to me was closed for business! I had to travel 12 miles out of my way to make a drop off. That being said, the drop off went smoothly.
A complaint has been filed. Check my account. Some is supposed to call me.
my rental was only needed for one day and i was charged for 2 days will not use this service again
make sure the people know that there were scratches on the U-haul when they rent them so you want have to get charge.
Once again uhaul moved my reservation at the last minute. Once again I have had to travel miles and miles away to the middle of nowhere to make my move. Haul seems to be running a scam to rack up mileage charges. Just so we understand I did an in town move, the houses are less than one mile apart, the original haul location was just under two miles away. Two trips between the houses, but because haul moved my truck halfway across the state my move was over 65 miles.
The only problem i had is I was told the gate would be open at 7:30 am so i could drop the dolly but no one showed up till 8:10 and that was only after i called them to get the gate opened. It was an inconvience to me and made me late to work. They sould honer the hours on the website. Not an hour after as they said.
The service was above and beyond our expectations. No improvement needed. Just keep on what you are doing.
First place that Uhaul was closed - had to go out of the way to another location in which we lost 1&1/2 hours. Man could not get trailer on 2" ball then he went to get another ball but found it would fit, then had to help him with chain so it would not drag. This place asked me for references and phone numbers and took forever to get it. I will never go back there or recommend it. I feel I should be credited on this for my inconvence of going to 2 places for the trailer and the time at the place where I picked up the trailer. I have never had to have references and phone numbers and show my registration and so forth. i don't know if I ever want to use Uhaul after my experience.
I placed my order for the trailer at my local Tire King in Walterboro, SC, one week before my move date. I was told the trailer would be one site, which was 15 miles from my home. One day before my move I stopped in at the Tire King, they didn't have the trailer. On the day of my move, we had to drive an extra 45 miles one way from our home to pick up the trailer,from a different location. We were told we would get a 20% discount because of the extra mileage we drove for pick up. Well that didn't happen, I guess we were just told that, to make us happy. If I ever move again, I will not use U-Haul, the company needs to keep it's promises and do what they say. If you tell me are going to have a trailer for me, then you should(I booked a week ahead of time). As a company in these tough times, you need to tighten the belt, and keep your customers happy. Because next time, I will be someone elses customer, not U-Hauls.
Was told the location would open at 9, wasn't open when we came by at 9:30 and had to park across the street to drop it off.
The site was a used care dealership. I have always used a "Uhaul" only facility where the main revenue is rental. Not bad for out in the country, but I did have to unhook and drop the heavy trailer by myself after 6 hours of moving in 95 degree heat. Next time I will in town and tow to the site. Also, 6 hours is not enough time to use the trailer.
I Had a problem when I went to pick up my trailor. The night before when I booked and confirmed with a credit card, over the phone throught a call centre I was quoted a price and that was what I agreed to. When I got to the pick up point the price was different by almost $ 100.00. When I told the person I was dealing with she made a call to find out why the difference. We were on speaker phone so I was able to talk to the person on the other end too. He indicated that I was quoted wrong and would have to pay the new price. I was arguing with him and he asked me if I knew who I was talking to and I told him to look on his computer and he can see who I was talking to. His customer service was well below standards for the simple reason was all he kept saying what the other person was wrong and I was to pay what he was quoting. After I told him that he wasted a good portion of my travel day and he can stick the trailor up his you know what. That was when we could hear a female clearly in the back ground tell him to give it to me for what I was quoted for. He then change the contract. I was not happy in the least for I wasted about a half of a day travel time trying to get this worked out. What I can not under stand is how the price for which I was quoted and agreed to and confirmed could change without me knowing it. I also sent you an email off of one of the other emails I received from you. I hope to hear from you about this situation. The trailor was great for what I needed and it saved me alot of room. The pickup and drop off points were great in assisting me to hookup and drop off the trailor. For Your Response. Thanks Bill
