The truck was dirty when I picked it up. I had to mop the inside of the box before I would put my belongings in this truck. The interior of the cab was also dirty, not cluttered with trash but dusty and dirty. I had also requested blankets to use for my move but they didn't have the number I requested (36) and the ones they had were also dusty and dirty, the gentleman pulled them from the body shop, they weren't bagged and had car dust and dirty all over them. I went to another store to get blankets to use for the move. I don't think I'll use this store again for my moving or truck needs.
I tried checking in using the online app and it didn't work for me, so I ended up just putting the keys and contract in the box.
When checking out I was told the facility would be open until 6pm. I returned at 5:42 pm and the shop was already closed. The key fob did not fit in the dropbox.
Fast, friendly service in a convenient location
Even though the sales person swept the snow off there was ice that I had to clean off and thaw out the straps so I could load my car. it took a whole two hours extra to do what I needed to do.
Either move the studded tires to the front or put all 4 on. Couldn't use the uhaul in the snow. I could not control it at all and didnt get any moving done.
The internet reservation did not work, neither did the app. The app wouldn't even let us create an account after we downloaded it. The local store was easy to work with but corporate U-haul has some serious issues to work out if they want to keep business.
I have been billed twice what the contract was. It looks like I was billed twice for the same rental.
The young men that service the customers are slow and have Zero skills for this type of work. The computer system is very slow and not user friendly. Its the only U-Haul in Eagle River and we are stuck with this poor service. I'll drive to Anchorage in the future.
I showed up and nobody was there for 45 minutes, I called and I could hear the phone ringing and no one picked up, I ended up having to order an Uber XL. I called the 800 number to get a refund and the dumb broad on the phone said to get my refund from the people inside, how am I supposed to do that if no one is at the location??!! Will not be coming back
Two employees came outside before I even got out of my vehicle and assisted in backing and stowing the trailer. A hiccup with check-in process because it showed it had not been returned a week after we dropped it off and I received a call, but they fixed it immediately once contacted.
Broken windshield, seat belt light and ding always on. warning about low tire. Told to just disregard. They haven't had time ti fix. Gas was at less than 3/4 tank. Brought to renters attention. Returned with same. Was charged for fill up. An additional $40.00 for 9 gallons. Was charged for extra day. Returned a day early. was told OK to do even though the location was closed. All windows were very dirty. Had to wash inside and out before getting on highway. And was charged for insurance which I had denied since my own insurance already covers a rental.

I called a week in advance to make the reservation and also spoke to a Uhaul employee the day of pick up. 2 Uhaul employees/representatives told me $89 TOTAL for a two day rental. Customer service was good, however, nobody told me about the â€œ$16 coverage feeâ€ only spoke of a total rental fee of $89. Both employees had a few opportunities each when I asked â€œ$89 for two days, right?â€ yet nobody had the decency to tell me about additional fees AFTER the total. I feel I got nickel and dimed because I received an email AFTER everything is done and returned. If someone would've told me, on the phone and/or in person, â€œtotal, plus insurance for a flat tire, etc. for 2 daysâ€ I'd be ok with it and understand. Insurance in a rental company is business as usual; as should letting customers know of any fees. Aside from hidden fees, the rental was in a convenient location, convenient weekend hours, and properly maintained equipment.
They wouldn't take cash and told me they needed a credit card due to high theft rate. They said it would just be a hold on the card until I returned the truck. When I returned the truck they still wouldn't take my cash and the charges stayed on the card. I was not happy!
The local Uhaul wasn't aware of which trucks were ineligible for 24 hour rental. As a result, we were given a 7AM reservation for a 15' truck that couldn't be checked out before opening hours (10AM). We got to the lot and realized we didn't have a lockbox code. We couldn't log in to our online account (spoke to the 1-800 number and they said there were many reports of that same problem that day). The telephone representative then explained we would have to go back at 10. Though we were given the $50 reservation guarantee, this entire ordeal completely affected our move that day.
Only problem I had was with trying to return the equipment after hours online. Some of the internet steps/pages were not working for me. Otherwise it was a great experience. Thank you kindly for the decent rates and good service.
Website wasnt the easiest, kept wanting me to pick up hundreds of miles away a d return to my local shop. Ditched the on line approach and picked up the phone, local move of a couple of hours, checking out and back in was easy, shop was well stocked with u haul inventory. Recommend this place, staff was friendly too.
In the past when I rented a trailer it was; take that one, pay when you return it. This..... wasn't
Be able to store vehicles with a full tank of gas for ballast. Per manager, there are problems with fuel theft...solve that and you could keep tanks full.
