The van worked well, but was dirty from previous users, including grit on the floor and trash under the seats. The staff at the location were all very helpful. My 24/7 didn't work (it kept telling me it couldn't find my location) and they worked with me to get me on the road. I called early the morning of my rental to ask that the time be moved up one hour. The person I spoke to said they'd made the change but when I arrived said the info had not been relayed to them. I called the number of the location (from your website) but he said it rolls over to customer service. It would be helpful to know that's what it's doing.

The staff member in the front desk was the example of bad manners. She was careless, watching a vídeo and listening it with a ear plug. There was no posture when sitting. She spoake a "kind" of English. Really bad example.

Upon arriving I was surprised to see that I was charged for the first 20 miles. The manager explained that it was in the fine print. Upon returning the van, which had some loose parts and a little unsteady, the bill was much higher than I had expected so I asked for an explanation. I was told that I had been charged $1.19 for every mile (45 miles). What a ripoff! I guess the two employees noticed that I wasn't happy. It would have been courteous and professional for either of them to have thanked me for the business, but nope! After this experience, I will look elsewhere next time I need a truck. Ariel Goldchain

Simple and quick drop off process

The rental price of the car that I took was 19.95/d. And I took the car for only 4 hrs, drove 20 miles. When I returned, I paid $49.43. Its my frist time U-Haul, and my expectation for payment was around $20s. And felt overcharged.

I was double billed and given two separate contract Numbers for two Econo Vans when I in fact only rented one van. Please look into this matter for me. Contract Nos. 91999375 and 92183337.

We had a lot of trouble with the Truck Share program and were picking up before this location opened for business. We were extremely lucky that an employee showed up early and was able to fix the bug within the truckshare program in person. He got us in a truck and on our way and we only lost a half hour. Hats off to this man, but was disappointed by the truckshare experience.

I rented a truck and didn’t rent a dolly and was charged. I was also charged for fuel and replaced the fuel I used. I went i the gas station next door and put 5.5 gallons in the tank, which is more than I used. The tank was 3/4 when I started and I believe there was a mishap.

Staff was incredibly well prepared. Truck was in front for early pickup and already was stocked with extra rental equipment including dollies and blankets. Online check in was very smooth too. I have had several uhaul experiences that required hours of waiting for equipment to arrive at the beginning of the rental period. I could not have afforded that wasted time during this rental and am extremely grateful for the industrious staff at the Columbia Pike, VA location. Thanks to them for a great experience.

The van I rented smelled like someone had urinated in it. It was dirty inside. The after-hours drop-off using the app completely failed. It didn't work - which meant I had to make TWO trips to the u-haul location to drop off the van - which doubled the miles and increased the charge for renting the vehicle. When I spoke to staff at the front counter and explained about the extra miles and the app not working and asked them to fix it - they seemed completely helpless and were unable to assist me. Also, the location did not have adequate parking for me to leave my car while I used to van for my relatively short move. I'm sorry - but I do NOT want to park my nice car on a city street where it could be hit by another car or stolen. The entire experience was unacceptable. I'm really annoyed. Next time I will probably go to one of your competitors.

The Uhaul reps working there were friendly, but they were extremely busy. They need help. Second, the dolly I had was extremely wobbly and loud, and needed maintenance. But overall, my reservation worked and I am satisfied.

They did not have us inspect it first so I was concerned that I would get charged for things that were dirty. The van had a lot of dirt in it actually. Also, they said the gas gauge was at three quarters of a tank and it was under that. I didn't realize till we left and we were in a rush. They were very nice and helpful and super speedy though.

Make sure the app doesn't crash at the end as had to leave the keys in glove box compartment and manually lock the car because got no instructions on where to return the keys after my vehicle was returned

When I went to pick up my vehicle at the appointment time there was a line of like 20 people. It seemed understaffed for a Sunday at the end of the month. I had to park up the street. The equipment I ordered wasn’t in the truck. The staffers were really helpful but I wish there had been more of them.
