Was suppose to pick up truck in Schererville where I reserved it. Was then told I had to go to Gary. 30 minutes away and in a bad neighborhood. Then wouldn't give me the 20% off.

I rented a U-Haul for one way. I was told that the price I was given was for 4 days. Totally my fault for not actually reading the contract but I assumed that the woman knew what she was talking about. I actually had 2 days and had to rush to unload.

I was suppose to pick up my truck at another location and 10 minutes before my pick up i get a call from you guys telling me my truck is not available and i would have to go to another location. I had people here and ready to go for my move and then I had to delay it because I had to go somewhere else to get the truck which was 3 miles father from my original pickup. then I had to pay for the extra 6 miles of travel.I should of been called at least 1-2 hours prior to my pick up.

Kevin made the whole process super easy. This was my first Uhaul rental experience, including driving that size vehicle. The truck was very clean, easy to navigate. I used the 24/7 pick up /drop off....so simple. Thanks so much.

Personnel arrived 40 or so minutes late; time means money in the moving business. Unacceptable. Needs to be addressed as it started a domino effect with the day's schedule.

The people at the location were very friendly but it seemed they had very little experience with renting vehicles or at least the option that I chose (a round-trip, 1300 miles, use of a cargo van). Communication was a bit hard to understand due to English being a second language (this was fine in that I had to listen/comprehend a little harder and explain a little more clearly). I still would recommend the location to friends and have already. Also, the U-Haul costomer service and reservation crew were phenomenal in tracking down a dispute I had over expected price. Kudos to all.

It took almost an hour to get the vehicle. My pick-up time was 4:00pm, I arrived around 3:50pm and didn't get the vehicle until around 4:50pm. Vehicle was not ready to be rented. It had three inches of snow and ice on it. Vehicle ran fine and worked for my needs. I only needed the vehicle for two hours and would have liked to have returned it but the location closed at 6pm so I ended up having to leave the U-haul van on the lot that night and return the next afternoon to return the keys. I think having a night deposit box would be beneficial so that the customer is not required to return to the location multiple times. I will not rent a u-haul from this location again.

We waited over 45 minutes before we were given the truck. The cargo area had not been swept out. Then the bill was about $30.00 over what was quoted. Will never use U-Haul again.

Seemed to be confusion about the reservation - no one there seemed was prepared for use of the rental van (wait time was 20 min). U-Haul van was behind several cars - one of which had to be jump started in order to move so the van could be retrieved. Bad smell in the van; overall very poor experience. Would not use this location for a u-haul rental ever again.

This experience was well below average I am reevaluating my future U-Haul relationship. The rental pick-up location's system was down. I had to prompt the owner to call U-Haul so that I could checkout with 800-GO-UHAUL's customer service. The telephone customer service agent was extremely helpful to convince me that U-Haul had efficient procedures in place to overcome system outages. My gov't CC would not go through over the phone through several tries but was able to pull cash out at the pick-up location with the same card and put a $100 deposit for the rental. When I returned the truck the next day (Saturday) the pickup location's system was still INOP. The station owner said that there was nothing that I could pay since the system was down and that remaining process "was going to be ugly". I took a picture of the dash to ensure I would be charge fairly. I called 1-800-GO-UHAUL to attempt to pay over the phone with the customer service center. They said that I could only pay at the pick-up location, which I would have to wait until his system came up, and was told that I'd be contacted for the remaining balance then. 10 days later I received an e-mail indicating that I owed $11.95, called 800-GO-UHAUL customer service to pay, and was told that I could only pay at the pick-up location. There was an additional $30 late fee added on a second receipt sent with the first. I paid the $11.95 balance at the pickup location, and after 1.5hrs bouncing between 800-GO-UHAUL and the regional office, the owner had to call his regional manager (Charles Polan) to attempt to apply the funds. I am uncertain if this is resolved. It shouldn't be this difficult to pay for UHAUL equipment. The only quality portion of this rental was the 800-GO-UHAUL agent who was able to check the vehicle out to me over the phone; everything else was well below average. I wasn't mean, angry, or rude to anyone over the phone in spite of every agent informing me that "there was nothing that they could do". You know the market competition; you know each of the pricing schemes; this experience will put UHAUL on the bottom of the list. The fuel gage was below the mid-point mark when I drove the van off the lot. The dealer over-stated the fuel gage, and I ended up paying for fuel that I did not use.

The location let me down on almost everything I needed. I was told I could pick up the van at 1000. Upon arrival, the clerk called the manager to rent me the van, and I had to wait more than 20 minutes for the manager and another 20 minutes to get the rental done. Then, though I had reserved a furniture dolly and a pack of moving pads, the only dolly was a small one and no pads were available. Basically, the only thing I got as expected was the vehicle, which was new and clean. U-Haul should reprimand this vendor!
