The U-haul staff was excellent, but the Esso cashier was not the best. I would say maybe more training because the check-in took 30 mins even though we did it online. There was some problem with the computer, but that did not take up the time. It was getting all the info which I had already done online that took most of the time
The location was fantastic but trying to get a hold of customer service was the worst experience ever. Never want to do that again.
The customer service was excellent, I'll no doubt be renting with Uhaul again in the future.ðŸ˜ðŸ˜„
We were so upset when we picked up the cargo van! If we didn't absolutely need it we would have cancelled on the spot! There were used latex gloves in the cup holder, someone left there hardware store purchase in the cab area, there was dirt and grim everywhere and there were two dirty sheets left in the back. We had to completely sanitize it before we put any of our belonging into it. I will NEVER rent here again! You would think with the current COVID situation that there would have been EXTRA care given to that. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
The truck had empty water bottle, cracker remnants and a fair amount of sand in the back that needed to be removed as we were moving furniture. ..otherwise truck was in great shape. Process itself to rent was very fast and efficient...pretty simple.
Nice guy, but the van was obviously not cleaned. It even had someone's toothpaste and garbage, lol. The check in place and procedure was very odd. I was sent images to approve and also the mileage and gas, but then the guy came out to check it again with me. I also had to wait for a lady buying lotto tickets, which affected my time to rent the van. I think next time I will rent from a larger location perhaps.
I got charged for cleaning fees which was not indicated earlier when booking. Also I left the rental at the same condition as I received it with no cleaning required so don't understand why I got charged for Cleaning.
Everything was ready to go when I picked up the van. The vehicle was clean and in good working order. The paperwork went seamlessly, quickly, and safely given the present Covid-19 pandemic. Overall a good experience.
Van not ready for use; 20 minutes to clean ice, etc. I thought this was done for you.

I love the app but the person in the store where I rented was kind...professional and amazing
The person in charge to deliver the key to the truck did not have any idea about the transaction as I booked it online. Even though I showed him the transaction on my phone. He refused to believe me. He didn't want to call someone either. I would like to see these representatives get more training in online transactions.
The Truck was not full when I picked it up but it was when I returned it. The inside of the vehicle was not cleaned out and it had someone's driver's license and a shoe leftover from a previous renter.
The whole process was fine. Be prepared that the truck itself registers in miles and the estimated cost also shows miles as well as kilometers. The guys serving at the Esso station did a good job of organizing the paperwork needed and checking the truck at the end of the process. I was satisfied and would not have a problem renting from them again. It took $10 of gas to do a 9 mile round trip.
App was near impossible to use.
Location at Esso gas station, same gas attendan will help with receiving the rental track and if busy you need to wait longer. NOTE: Don't fill the track's gas tank in advance as U-Haul doesn't give you any discount if retuned with more gas in tank! The reverse is even more expensive for customers. IMO this approach is not fair for customers. U-Haul should improve this by calculating the gas in excess and balance with costs per extra KM or refunds.
Retrain staff, fix your printer, have vans available in Fergus
Contract mileage was in miles, odometer reading was entered into system as kilometers. When returning, had to pay overage, because the system thought it was miles. Clerk could do nothing, only changed $20 for extra milaege. Called customer service, they had supervisor go out to location to check. When he called, he said it was accurate, only when I called him on it, he went back to the truck and confirmed it was reading kilometres. Only then, was a refund issued. If I was a conspiracy theorist, i would wonder if this is a situation that haapens often here in Canada when a parent company forces the use of miles.
We reserved on line and when we went to pick up the van we were unable to pay with our credit cards, we tried numerous cards but your system was not working properly and kept rejecting the payment. In the end the whole process took an hour and delayed our meeting family and friends for our move. It was very frustrating but the person at the service location was very polite and understanding, they did there best to find an answer - the problem was definitely not their service but your online system for reservations and payments. In the end an area representative was called to remotely process our payment as no uhaul centre was open until 9am. Very frustrating, I will be asking for a discount/rebate on this rental for the delay and frustration we experienced.
The truck smelled: in future, the smell should be eradicated!
The experience with the location was great however the experience with UHaul its self was terrible
Hire new and well educated or knowledgeable person who manage or assist customers properly.
I was not aware that my pick up location was in a gas station. Maybe I missed it on the website but was unsure where I was going. The member of staff at the gas station who helped me was very helpful and polite.
Give me the size of truck I asked for. My truck keeps getting upsized and it's way to big for the amount of stuff I have and costs way more in gas.
