First, phone app would not locate me even though I was standing next to the truck. Called customer service and got combo to access keys. Then pulled out on to road and truck would not get out of first gear. Revved to 7500 rpm and no second gear. Truck's transmission was shot. Could not use the vehicle. Told to call roadside assistance so we could be routed to another vehicle. Placed on endless hold and hung up. Went to next closest rental dealer and was treated well on a new and separate contract.

I picked the truck at Haymarket and specified to the person that i would drop at Manassas Park and even when I Made the reservation on line but they charged me doble because the representative in Manassas Park tild me that i HAD to drop the truck on Haymarket.

The truck was relatively clean, but had dog hair all over the place and smelled like a wet dog. With that said everything else was okay.

I have rented with this location on 2 different occasions and feel I've been taken advantage of every time. First time they charged me for an extra day. This past time they charged me for gas when the level was at half a tank when I picked it up. AND I MADE SURE TO PUT IT RIGHT EACTLY THERE AND TAKE A PICTURE! The equipment has always been dirty and previous damage has always been suspect. I won't go here again. Shame on them the first time but shame on me for picking them another 2 times. I think I'll just pay Penske next time I need something rather than get screwed.

It was not very clear that we would be checking ourselves in and need to get an app. It would have been faster if I was given instructions prior. Instead of calling headquarters and waiting on hold.

No inspection of the equipment. When I turned in the truck and tow dolly, we were accused of damaging the truck. We did not. Thank god I took out the insurance. I am not pleased at all.

I enjoyed the easy and straight forward transaction. They are an auto repair shop and the atmosphere lets you know they enjoy their job. It was a pleasure meeting Fred and one of the mechanics. Don’t be deceived by the gravel parking lot in an industrial park. Good people there for the customer.

Great response with the equipment. Just wish that the Reservation Center did not try to switch my reservation to another site. Had to make several calls to get it reschedule back to the office in Haymarket. Glad I did!!

Apparently there was conflict within the U-Haul system as to where my drop-off destination was assigned. I was told Haymarket would be cheaper, though Front Royal was closer. So I picked Haymarket. Someone somewhere changed it to Front Royal, and I didn't know. I certainly didn’t ask for it. Because everything U-Haul was doing was wrong and screwed up, I made sure to call Haymarket ahead of time to confirm it was OK to return it there. They told me to come on in. I came on in. It's a shady place down a dirt road with a small sign in the back of some remote, unknown buildings. I had to get out, find someone, and ask where it was to learn it was all the way around back. There weren't any signs leading me there. Anyway, they happily accepted the vehicle and helped me get my car down from the auto trailer. That part was easy at least. Only they never told me that it wasn't expected there but at Front Royal. I wouldn't have left it there until the discrepancy was fixed had I known. Forty-five minutes later I get a call. I expect at this time they'll fix the error. But the receipt I receive by email charges me a total of $421 for a wrong destination. As it turns out, the folks at Haymarket could not have been less helpful. My entire U-Haul experience has been an infernal contraption designed to punish me financially, psychologically, and physically.

The U-Haul reservation system was slow. Much of my information already given had to be re-typed. Other than that, good experience.

The U-Haul reservation system is horrible! I had a trailer reserved at another location and it was not there when I went to pick it up. I wound up paying movers for an hour of their time while they stood in my drive way for an hour before I cancelled. I had to drive 35 miles out of my way in heavy traffic to find one at this location, which was tucked away behind a bunch of other buildings at the end of a dirt road. It was only when my reservation came through the computer system that the operator would give me directions to get there. No one did a thing to help me from the central customer service. The movers finally came back at 3PM and I did not make it to my destination until 1AM the next morning.

the inside of the truck had to be swept out because there was broken glass that was all over the floor. and the gas was between 1/2 and 3/4 full. When you are getting ready to move the last thing you want to do is to go to a gas station and fill up a gas tank or have to guess at putting in gas when you drop it off so you don't get charged $5.00 a gallon.

The U-haul representative was not present so the shop owner had to assist with the reservation software and it was a mess. partly my fault, I should have done the automated check-in online.
