This was the second location I went to. The first place, J.J. Service Center, in Highwood, IL, was closed today, even though the website stated they were open today until noon. Fortunately, I was able to contact U-Haul headquarters so they could direct me to another location, about 5 miles away. Someone should tell J.J. Service Center to update their website, since the sign in their window, stating they are closed on Saturday, was dated 3/20, meaning the website is almost 2 months out of date. Because of this error, I had to drive more extra miles than I drove the U-Haul truck! Perhaps U-Haul should refund the $5 mileage fee for the rental?

Make sure people are there when picking up a truck. We had to wait 30 minutes and the only people there couldn't help us because they worked at the car detailing place and had no idea what was happening. Rep also did not even check for dolly, thankfully refunded me but didn't even check to see if he had one in the first place.

Not well marked. Location is actually a detailing shop. No one was in the office - door was locked. After 5 minutes I eventually found an unlocked door and was told someone would be with me in 5 minutes. After 10 minutes I was told the same - 5 more minutes. After 20 minutes I was told 5 more minutes. 45 minutes later someone came to help me and was not even able to give me paperwork showing I returned the trailer. Poor customer service and made me wait way too long for what should have been a simple transaction. I would never return to this location again. Trailer was not water tight. Was raining and many items got wet. I did not appreciate that. This should not have happened. I told the person at the return location and he didn't seem to care.

Make sure the place is open and they know the customer is coming. If it wasn’t for a guy washing cars, I would not have been able to pick up the truck. He and I went through keys to find the correct one. He called the owner(who was out of town), and the owner had zero concern with my predicament.

The staff there was not customer friendly. We had a very bad experience over there. Just when he got us the keys and hooked the car transport to the truck then he left us. The car transport had snow over it and it was cold that time. We asked him if he can help us how to safely load the car in the transport but replied he doesn’t have any idea. I don’t why would they do business like that if they don’t know how to help their customers. It was cold and snowing that day and we just figured it out ourselves by searching on the youtube. It would have been easier and faster if we had the help we need.

I reserved a 15 foot truck and was coming from Milwaukee Wi to Waukegan Il. When I got there, there was no truck for me. The gentleman that was helping me was awesome considering. So,l had to drive another 12 miles to Higlannd Park and they only had a 10 foot truck. I had to make two trips back and forth and use 2x as much gasoline. a 1. 5 hour trip turned into a 10 hour day.Horrible!! The nice guy at Waukegan had to fight with someone on the phone just to get me extra miles since i was going to go back and forth due to them not having the truck i reserved!! Kudos to the consultant i worked with, but the rest of the compnay should be ashamed. My check engine light was on the entire strip which didnt make me feel any better!

I used Uhaul App to check in, or tried to. The experience in the App was extremely complicated and painful to process. Once I had checked in on the App it didn't give me access to the key to the vehicle so I had to hunt for someone at the location to get the key and no one was around. Luckily the business next door knew and called the owner to help find the key. Whole process took over an hour which is completely unacceptable. I will do everything I can to avoid renting from Uhaul again.

On arrival I had to search for assistance. I asked if they wanted to park the trailer. They said there would be a 25 dollar charge for them to do so. I had thought they might know where they wanted it. I was instructed to put it in any open space. Which I did without incident. Not your typical Midwest helpfulness The use of the trailer was excellent. The communication from UHaul was excellent.

Your app simply sucks. It crashed many times and made me fill out info (drivers license number, etc) again even though I filled it out online when making the reservation. I chose the app route because I wouldn't have to go-to the counter. Well the damn app took 30 minutes to go through, and ultimately I had to go-to the damn counter anyways to get the keys. Terrible experience. Was in a major hurry and your shit system wasted 30 minutes of my time for something that should have taken seconds.

Someone at U-haul cancelled my order the day prior to pick up, but did not notify me. No phone call. No email. I was traveling over 350 miles prior to picking up a trailer and found out that morning that there was nothing waiting for me. In addition to this, when I called customer service, the first person left me on hold for over twenty minutes without any update on the situation. I ended up calling from a separate phone while still on hold from my phone. The second person, thankfully, spoke with me and eventually find a trailer in the area. The door dimensions on the trailer would possibly be too small for what I was hauling, so the lady gave me the phone number to the location to verify the dimensions. The person at the location told me they "only answer the phone" and could not help. He stated "I am not the person you need to talk to" but also said there was no one there that would be able to answer my question. I called the customer service representative back. She got her supervisor on the phone to confirm the dimensions. Thankfully, the dimensions barely cleared my needs. Pick up went well at the location. No hiccups. I measured the door myself to verify they would work. Many thanks to Janet, the customer service representative that helped me sort this all out. You were magnificent. But at the end of the day, this experience left a poor taste in my mouth. I am hesitant to recommend U-haul to others when the ball gets dropped in at least three different ways on one rental. ????

Broken door, broken window not closing making load noise all the way, dirty cabin, tires not to pressure, very disappointed especially after spending near $600 for that rental. Enterprise would have done better: never again

1) Very unfriendly on the phone when I called about their hours and what we needed to bring to pick up the truck 2) Had issues getting online to check us out when we got there. 3) Charged us a fee to drop the rental off after hours that didn't need to be charged.

I received a charge of over double what I was supposed to pay. I had to call customer service to get this charge fixed. The UHaul customer service person was very nice and helpful, but I still have not received my money back. Plus, it is always a bad feeling when you think someone is trying to scam you. Perhaps it was an accident by Magic Touch, but the bill I received was completely different than what I was shown, and they recorded that I drove more than 4x the miles I actually drove. Overall, the Magic Touch people seemed nice and gave me a van that was in very good condition, but I probably will not be using this location again because I don't like the feeling that I am being ripped off.

I arrive to pick up my trailer and the Uhaul employee was not present. There was a number on the door that said call for service. So I called the number and explain that I have an appointment to pickup trailer and he said let me call you back and never did. The location was joint with a detailing business so the man who worked for them help me get in contact with the district Uhaul employee ‘Gorge’ who was very professional and took care of me all over the phone. I will is Uhaul in the future but will not return to that location.

Had an 8am drop off but no one was there. Waited 15 minutes and then called the number where the guy said to leave keys and contract in drop box which I did. Then I proceeded to receive emails and calls saying my truck was overdue for the return. Moving is frustrating enough and I did not appreciate having to make multiple calls to get this sorted out.

The truck I used was good for a move from chicago to highland park. There were some goofy issues with the trucks alignment where it would drift, so I wouldn't want to use it for a long drive.
