Only complaint: There was no pre-rental walk around with the UHaul staff person, and there is a scratch on the side of the vehicle. I was afraid that I would be accused of making that scratch (about 2.5 inches long), especially after telling the staff person that I was renting the pickup to bring brush to the dump. Fortunately, the man who checked the pickup when I returned it said nothing about the scratch. Maybe they already were aware of it, but I was worried about getting an extra charge on my bill - and I swear that I did not make that scratch. Anyway, all's well that ends well, I guess.

I had too return to Nova Scotia for a family emergency. I called and asked they said they will charge an xtra 150.00 I was alao quoted 358 dollars to drop off in Maine. When i picked up the truck the bill was nearly. Been a customer for years. Done seems no one can tell the truth. Ray Duprey 902 979 0225

Couldn't use my GPS or charge my phone because all 3 accessory ports didn't work. Horrible sounds the whole way from NH to FL from front wheels. Bad tires? Failing wheel bearings? The counter guy we picked it up from seemed almost annoyed we were there to spend our money with him to rent the truck.

I booked the truck over the phone with what sounded like a younger male (very polite), requesting it from Monday to Saturday. I was told I could not pick it up until 9am. At 7:38am I got a rather nasty call from UHaul from an angry male(not the individual I rented it from) asking where I was, that I had rented a truck for 7am pickup. I explained I was told I couldn't get it until 9 and he emphatically told me that's not true, that UHaul opens at 7am every day. Then the driver, I only paid, was called Saturday morning, and screamed at shortly after 7 because the truck wasn't back. The driver tried to explain the truck was in Vermont and still loaded but the agent continued to demand its return right now.. which was simply unrealistic. Granted, I should've double checked the contract, but I booked a 20' truck instead of a 26' truck specifically because I needed to keep it tiill Saturday and a 26' was not available. The male, I have since learned, is the manager. He threatened the driver taking him he was banning him from ever renting again. As a business owner, I know firsthand that mistakes happen, and this one is a combination... the agent did not give me what I asked for and I failed to catch the mistake, but regardless, management can not be hot headed, verbally abusive and threatening to customers. Both my company and I have used UHaul in Keene multiple times. While I now live in Vermont, my business is still located in Keene but I will drive out of my way to another UHaul location before I ever go back to Keene again.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE ! The GM made a mistake in the rental dates and double-scheduled the same truck for our last day. We scheduled it for a 6-day rental, and he dated it for only 5 days and reserved it for another renter on the morning of our 6th day, and then blamed US for not catching HIS mistake. Called me at 7 a.m. to DEMAND that I return the truck immediately. I explained that it was not yet unloaded, and a distance from Keene. He continued to scream at me and demand I return it IMMEDIATELY. He refused to acknowledge that we still had it for one more day, shouting at me and threatening to "ban me from ever renting from U-Haul again". He was condescending and arrogant. He also threatened to charge us for the other renter's full rental costs. He followed through by cancelling another rental I had scheduled for the following weekend, true to his threat of banning me from any further rentals. Sadly, I have seen him act angry and irritated on numerous occasions with other customers, both in person and on the phone. Not someone who should be dealing with the public! Beware in your dealings with him!

The gentleman that helped me was very friendly and was able to help me with my botched reservation. He gave me extra miles as I had to drive 50+ extra miles for my pickup, and an extra day. I would recommend having someone else available to assist. When I was there I would consider it fairly busy, for a uhaul (no offense), but each interaction can be a solid 10 or so minutes, and when you form a small line that really adds up quick. Ok, so for reservation. This was not the fault of the store. I called the 800 number to do my reservation because I needed multi day and I couldn't do that on the website for some reason. Anywho, the girl that helped me told me i was picking up in a certain location, which I now understand is not how it really works and pickup locations are not guaranteed. Well it was a 50+ mile excursion for me that I had to then hastily to recoordinate and lose time at work to pickup early the day before expected. I feel like I was mislead. Moving is stressful enough, and this was not fun to deal with. The regional office that I called because they were the ones that had to help, were no help. I was shown no empathy and was told repeatedly pickup locations are not guaranteed. I asked to speak to the supervisor and I was apparently already speaking to her. I then asked to get moved up in the chain and she threw me back into the phone autoattendent. The pickup location went above and beyond trying to compensate me with thg extra miles and extra day, but I still had to duck out of work early for this and inconvienace someone else for a ride. I've used uhaul services for all my moves and have always had a pleasant experience. What happend uhaul?

Whoever the representative I dealt with was rude and seemed as though he couldn't be bothered. I believe his name was Jeffrey. He left a very unpleasant feel about the entire ordeal. I also tried to use the website on a mobile device to reserve a uhaul, but could not finish getting through it because of all the add ons and unnecessary upsales, when all I wanted was a uhaul to move a mattress... Not a bunch of movers to move my crap for 500 dollars, or useless boxes or any other crap. When I told Jeffrey, he seemed to care more about me interrupting his web surfing than helping me rent a uhaul. For a company that prides itself supposedly about customer service, you would think that your customer service representatives would care a little more, or atleast make the effort to fake caring.

Frank was a great customer service person. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use the 5' x 8' trailer I rented because the 1 7/8" ball I had installed made the fit WAY too loose to be safe. The Uhaul website says 1 7/8" or 2" will work for this trailer but the truth is it ought to have a 2 1/8" ball to fit properly. Even my 2" had a bit too much play on it.

Get rid of manager Jeff Johnson. He was not very helpful and didn't have time for me 1st time I went to the store. Fortunately when I picked up the rental another person helped me. Mr Ortega I think was his name. Excellent customer service from him.

Jeffrey Johnson has to be the most unhelpful, arrogant General Manager I’ve ever dealt with at any U-Haul locations. As long as he’s at the Keene location I will not rent from this location. The 6’ x 12’ trailer was in good condition and worked fine.
