Called several times after they opened at 9am and the phone system would not let me get to someone or leave a message. I changed the rental pickup time on the app. When I arrived, the employee was outside on their phone and smoking. Makes me wonder if they were doing that instead of answering my calls. She didn't speak good English. Seemed confused by the computer system when trying to check me in. Said that I was getting a dolly and moving pads, even though that was not included in the rental. I asked if they had a drop box for the key so I could return the vehicle that evening and she said no. They close at 1pm, what business is open from 9am-1pm?!?!? She also couldn't remove the lock from the truck's cargo area where the key was stored and asked for my help, giving me the combination for the lock which was "BOLT". Doesn't seem secure to just get the lock combination to customers. When I returned the truck, some random guy walked into the business and I followed to ask if they were open and he said he didn't know anything about the UHaul company but that they seemed like they didn't know what they were doing and other customers had issues. I will never rent from this location again and would never recommend anyone else to rent from there.

When I made the reservation, I requested a location close to my house and to check in at the counter with a person. The day before my reservation I received a call saying I had to pick up from a farther location. I showed up at 2:00 pm on a Friday for pick up and the doors were locked. No one was there. I called U-Haul and had to speak to 5 different people to get the keys for the truck. I did not want to download an app. I wanted a counter check in with a person for a reason. After an HOUR I got the keys. I had to call back to request the link to add authorized drivers. Two different people tried to fill out the link and the link was nonworking. I returned the truck one day early and left it the way I found it. No one explained to me how to return it electronically. I was charged a $20.00 after hours service fee. I tried to call the pick up location to inquire about the after hours service fee and only get a voicemail. What is the fee for? Communication is severely lacking and my experience getting the truck made the already stressful experience of moving even more stressful. I filed a complaint and was told a manager would call me within 72 hours. Really disappointing all the way around.
Celena MThough the truck we needed (on kind of the spur of the moment!) wasn’t available, Greg from the Huddleston VA location went out of his way to get one for us nearby and exactly when needed! Everyone there also made sure our experience was a credit to the company. Highly appreciated and recommended!!!
