I will never use Uhaul again. I would rather sell all my stuff and move with only what I could fit in the back of my car than use Uhaul. You get penalties for everything. No one was even in the office in case we had trouble. It’s ludicrous how they operate their “business”. My recommendation? Don’t use Uhaul! Find a friend with a truck or sell off everything you can’t put in your car. It’s just stuff anyway. You can always buy more stuff. Don’t waste your time with Uhaul.
Nicholas NReservation was for Sun Prairie pick up. Reservation was made online so it would have been nice to know at time of reservation that we had to go to Commercial Avenue for pick up. Otherwise, all was as schedule. Good, clean truck.
Kristyn JI had a terrible experience with American Mini Warehouses LLC while trying to pick up a U-Haul I had reserved well in advance. To preface: I booked a U-Haul on June 26th for July 12th at 10:00 AM. I informed U-Haul that I wouldn’t be able to arrive until 11:00 AM, and the rep assured me that this would be fine. I even called American Mini Warehouses the day before and left a voicemail to confirm this. On the 12th, I arrived early at 10:30 AM but couldn’t locate the truck or keys. I approached the main building where I was greeted by two large dogs aggressively barking and scratching at the door, which was locked. I then called the number provided by U-Haul, which connected me to someone at Mini Warehouses. The person who answered sounded young and immediately took a rude, dismissive tone. I explained my situation and asked for guidance. His response: “Since you’re 30 minutes late, you’ll have to go through the app instead.” I explained I had already called ahead to adjust the time, and he doubled down with, “Like I said, go through the app.” When I couldn’t find anything in the U-Haul app and asked for clarification, his response was, “I don’t know what to tell you—it’s on the app. Google it if you can’t find it.” I asked again for a bit of help and he mocked me by repeating my words in a sarcastic tone—“Come on man”—and hung up on me. I then called U-Haul customer service, who was extremely helpful and explained that the pickup had not been properly set up on the Mini Warehouses side, which is why I couldn’t access the truck. In other words, I was being treated like I was doing something wrong when it was their error all along. Looking at other reviews, it’s clear this kind of unprofessional and disrespectful behavior is not uncommon at this location. Rather than own up to mistakes, the owner seems to deflect and blame customers. Absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone.
