04/19/24 A wider assortment of box sizes would be an improvement. I know that inventory must be a cost consideration and is quite difficult to maintain, but, for my household of average size (2 800 square feet), having a selection of more "mid-sized" boxes would have worked much better. Your personnel there were very helpful, always polite. I would use U-Haul again. Helen

CLIFTON HMy rankings above only reflect one teammate, Wayne at the Mandeville store. I reserved a 26" truck in Mandeville for Friday 3/29 & returning it 24 hours later Saturday. When I realized it was more likely a 2 day move, I tried to modify my reservation for the 26' truck for 2 days but was told they didn't have a 26' truck available for rent for 2 days but they could accommodate me with a 20' truck for 2 days. However, I'd have to drive 20 miles from home to pick it up, although the rep said she'd waive the truck mileage when I returned it which I really appreciated. I got to the Lacombe store around 11am since I needed the truck earlier in the day to load & dump a full truck of junk before the junk yard closed at 5:30pm so I could spend the next day moving all my contents to a new address 2 miles away from the home I was living in. However, Friday 3/29 was the day all computers with U-Haul went down. I sat at the Lacombe store from 11am until 2pm & remained calm the entire time. Even when the Lacombe agent kicked me out of the office at 2pm because she had another job. One employee who demonstrated exceptional 5 Star customer service was Niya. She found the Lacome truck for me although I could never rent it while it sat in the parking area. Niya apologized on behalf of the 1st employee's conduct & then found a 20' truck for 2 days at the Mandeville store where I originally made the reservation for a 26' truck for 1 day then tried to change it. Although Niya was pleasant, courteous & truly went out of her way to assist me, her actions also prevented me from returning the truck after 2 days. I actually kept the 20' truck for 3 days & this is why. 1st - due to the longer drive & 3-hour computer malfunction Friday when the reservation should have begun at 11am or earlier from a store 30 minutes away in Lacombe opposed to only 5 minutes in Mandeville where I made the original reservation (I was still grateful Niya found a truck or so we both thought so? After Niya finally found a 20' ft truck in Mandeville and myself driving the truck away from the store at approximately 3pm it didn't give me the time to load & empty it before the junk yard closed at 5:30pm putting me even further away from a 2 day move. By the way, Wayne at the Mandeville store was a rock star! 5 Star customer service throughout my experience there. 2nd, While Niya demonstrated excellent customer service skills, where she failed was trying to do business with a customer. While on the phone with Niya driving from Lacombe back to Mandeville where I live & discussing the issues of the Friday debacle, I said to her after finding out she lived in the general area "this is going to be a random question", but would you know anyone who'd like a free large China cabinet in great condition. She gave me her cell# and asked me to send her pics of the cabinet. I did since the pics were already on my cell phone and she immediately responded by text that her husband would be at my house for 9am sharp Saturday to pick it up in his silver Toyota Titan truck. It was one of a few items I couldn't sell or donate fast enough since the new owner requested within 12 days of making an offer & me accepting it, he wanted me to find a new place to live and leave the house empty & cleaned by Sunday night 3/31. I waited for hours hoping her husband would show up while calling & texting but she just ghosted me? Had she just called or texted & said prior to 9am her husband couldn't make it or they decided otherwise it would have given me more time to find someone else to donate it too. Remember, it's Saturday 3/30 & the house not only needed to be emptied of everything after spending all morning at the dump which should have taken place the day before, I had to ensure it was completely clean, not that the truck was required for that. I just felt how it was handled Friday with a 3-hour computer crash with ZERO other options available to rent a truck, the Lacombe store teammates lack of urgency & the other teammate getting involved with a customer's property played a large role in me paying for the 3rd day. In this customer's point of view & evaluation, Wayne at Mandeville scored 5+ Stars. Should be a trainer if possible. I would have given Niya 5+ Stars but her actions ghosting or blowing me off which cost me additional time knocked her score down to 4 Star service. I'd give the office teammate at the Lacombe store 3 Stars. She was kind enough but just didn't show empathy or urgency to correct the computer problem (paper contract) to assist me in renting a truck to move everything out of a 2200 sq ft home.as quickly as possible or showing more initiative to rent me the 20' truck sitting in front of her store?? By the way, both Joseph & Laura who I spoke to on the phone Saturday & Sunday respectively, were both cooperative & empathetic to my plight. 3rd - I reserved the largest truck available, the 26' truck because I knew to move a 2200 sq ft home in 2 days I needed the largest truck possible. I was left thinking due to the constant issues I experienced with U-Haul the next time I need to rent a truck I might try Penske or just call Wayne's store first & if he can't help, then call Penske.
