Most important is there were 1. No open office or even outdoor station for the attendants, and 2. The attendants were clearly marginally-engaged parttime workers, stationed (when they could be found—it took a phone call to U-Haul’s 800 number for them to locate the worker of whom there was absolutely no sign at scheduled pickup time) conducting U-Haul business in the parking lot of the locked building on what appeared to be their personal cell phones. There were absolutely no identifiable clothes or name tag or any way to determine these people wete bona fide Uhaul workers: one wore only a sweatshirt, plain beanie and jeans. The other, at the time of return, sat in the parking lot, with what appeared to be a girlfriend or wife, in his personal van, which was strewn with clothing and debris. These were manifestly unprofessional and scarcely presentable persons representing the U-Haul brand, and these peculiar in-the-parking-loy encounters had a strange, fly-by-night character as if the customer were meeting a drug dealer in a public park—presumably not the image U-Haul wishes to convey. Additionally, 3. An “EZ Fuel” line item was mysteriously added to the invoice, despite my having refueled the vehicle prior to return. I e-mailed the agent at the e-mail address they provided to inquire what this was and to credit back the amount. As of this writing, almost 10 hours have passed since my inquiry, which was sent at 11:33 am. Still the inquiry has gone unacknowledged. Your kind assistance following up on this matter with this agent will be much appreciated.

After check in and paperwork I was given a 9’ Cargo Van with 2 Tire Pressure Warnings-both front tires. The owner of the business claimed that he had no idea how to fix it, that it’s fine, and that it had been like that. Instead of believing him because of common sense, I drove to a tire shop to get all of the pressures checked. The front tires giving the warning were less than half of what was required as picture in the front door sill and the rear tires were 10PSI under. Furthermore, after leaving the initial U-Haul Pickup Location, the same owner that mentioned that he had no idea about how to solve the tire issue advised me that I would have to bring cash for the return and stating that it would be $100 without even knowing how many miles in the city I would actually end up driving... I will never visit this location again and would rather take the hit on larger price margin by going with Penske, Avon, Midway or similar to get a reliable vehicle and honest service.

Please confirm exact pick-up locations. I initially tried to pick-up a truck just using my mobile device. It didn't work and when I called, I just got passed around from one department to another with no actual help or answer. In doing so, I wasted 45 mins and still never got the truck. Luckily, Shipping Terminal was up the street and I made it before they closed. Afterwards, I got a call asking about my initial reservation. I was highly upset and disappointed.

I was not told prior to getting the keys about a fuel charge and having to refuel it. Then was charged for it. I’m very dissatisfied about this poor customer service and being held back information. That ended up costing me a lot. Being charged for 3.3 gallons when I only did 20 miles and wasn’t even told I had to refuel. The Uhaul worker was very bad.

U-haul exceptional but App is difficult when no live human being around. The app blocked several times and was difficult to check out and also return. However, my U-haul positive , especially the Burbank/ Sun Valley Location ( Hollywood Way) with a great on site staff! Sabra fantastic!

I turned in the truck a day early and with far more gas than when I rented the truck. It was clean and driven without any incident to warrant a $25 extra charge for cleaning. I am disputing this charge as it is completely unwarranted!

I did not receive any information from the location that the office would be closed and there would not be anyone to check out the truck to me. When I arrived I had to call the phone number on the window and eventually someone showed up. Returning the truck was another painful experience. With nobody on location I had to log onto the U-Haul site to check out online. I was told to just drop the key into the box when I returned, but luckily another person returning their truck told me not to do that because I had to take photos of the truck. The checkout process took 20 minutes to complete online. What I don't understand is why am I doing U-Haul's job for them? All the conveniences of renting from U-Haul became my inconveniences. When you're dealing with an already stressful situation of moving, the last thing you need to deal with is poor customer service that slows you down when time is so valuable. I would highly suggest you renting from a location with a fully staffed office, especially during the weekends.

The online process did not work out for me, and the extra items I had ordered were not available, which I did not find out until I got there. (furniture dolly and moving blankets). Thank goodness someone from the place answered the phone and came and helped me even though the facility was closed. He really went above and beyond. Otherwise I would not have gotten the regular stand up dolly or been able to rent the vehicle as the online check in did not work. I also had to run home and get blankets of my own which was very inconvenient.

Staff and service here were excellent. Uhaul communication AWFUL! Failed to clarify difference between order and reservation. Failed to provide accurate timely communication with shipping terminal! Would never recommend uhaul to a friend...

This is suppose to be an easy service where you do everything digital well it needs to be programmed better. We booked our pick up at one location and it was sent somewhere else. Come to find out this glitch has been happening with this service. When people are moving they have no time for nonsense plus when the guy came he had the biggest attitude and was very rude! Another guy that was with him was much nicer and made the other guy go sit in the car.Very bad customer service when the isssue is with the company you work for!
