This review is our overall experience with U-Haul and involves more than just this business. Long story short I do not recommend renting from U-Haul and if you don't have another option I would make sure it's an actual U-Haul store not the â€œneighborhood dealerâ€ or whatever they call it. I originally booked with Magnolia Properties in Piedmont SC. Before booking online I called the business several times and left 2 messages and never received a call back. I had several questions before booking so I wanted to talk to an actual person. I finally just booked online and requested the moving truck and a furniture dolly. Requested to checkout at the desk. Arrived at our scheduled time and was told we could only do contactless pickup and that I needed to install the U-Haul app to checkin. The app never would allow us to complete checkin so we had to involve the staff. She also couldn't get us checked in and informed me they didn't have the additional equipment we rented. Called U-Haul and was directed to a second location because they had everything on our order. Arrived at second location and they weren't open yet so we waited a solid 20-30 minutes for them to show up. Once they arrived we were told they also didn't have the additional equipment which was the whole reason we didn't just get the truck from the first location. Because of all the issues we were delayed almost 2 hours. Our originally pick up time was 9am- the pickup location was 2 minutes from our house. I didn't get back home with the truck until almost 11!!! This whole experience was terrible and completely unacceptable. I did call and voiced my complaints to customer service and was refunded $50 due to the furniture dolly not being available but this credit was due to a reservation guarantee not because of the poor experience. I in no way ask for hand outs but honestly 2 hours of a delay just to pick up a moving truck is ridiculous. Next time I'll just pay a moving company to avoid the disaster of a business called U-Haul.

I had to go to 4 different locations from my original reservation, cuz 3 place in a row were unmanned & put me behind by over half a day and had to drive almost 100 miles and spend 4 hrs and 1.75 hrs on hold with customer service, before I could finally get my trailer at this location
The location was fine, the man was very nice. I am very unhappy with the customer service provided by uhaul. I specifically asked the rep On the phone when I made the order if I could drop it off the next day without being charged an additional fee. He said yes. The 23 hour time limit was never mentioned. I knew nothing of this until the text came after pick up. Yes, technically it was in the Rental contract so as far as uhaul is concerned they're free and clear. In my opinion it is bad business. I specifically asked could I return the following day without charge, a time limit wasn't mentioned. When I called and spoke to a manager and then a supervisor they were unwilling to do anything to rectify their reps mistake in not carefully detailing the 23 hour time limit. They reviewed the call and never denied that I specifically asked this. Also, I requested an appliance dolly, because we're moving, we have appliances.... When we picked up the unit there was not a dolly. The person at the location removed it from our order. Again, in the conversation with a uhaul rep about the above issue I mentioned this and they did nothing to rectify this major inconvenience except offer to look For one at another location That I could drive 20miles to round trip to pick up. Not helpful. Uhaul did nothing to win Or keep me as a customer. I will not use them again and I will not recommend the company purely based on customer service.
Uhaul changed my pickup place and wasn't notified except by email luckily I happen to check it again late the night before . I think a phone call would have saved a lot of confusion. But every thing worked out thank you .
I waited for over an hour to access my truck bc the business had to hand deliver the key. Kind of pointless to do everything online if having to get the key in person is part of their process.
Was charged an extra full day rental ($42) because it was not back to the return location at 10am. I will NEVER rent from uhaul again if this is how you treat your customers that just spent over $500 for a moving truck.
