Howard WMy reservation was for early morning pick up at 7:30 before the office was open. The truck was not ready. After about an hour on the phone with Uhaul customer service I found out the truck was not returned before the office closed at 4:00. My complaints are that I had people at my house waiting to help me move and no truck, and no one called me to let me know that the truck would not be ready. When I finally got the truck at 9:30, I asked the employee why no one called me. She said that they did not know when the truck would be returned. I told her that they close at 4:00 four and the truck was not their, so they knew it could not be ready for me, (they were not there to check it in and get it ready for me). No response to that statement. Besides not being ready I drove down there, a phone call the previous day before they left would have saved me a trip. Plus if they would have called me, maybe we could have switched the size of the truck, or I could have checked with another dealer. The customer service department did give me a discount and a credit to my rental and I appreciate that, but I still had people waiting for 2 hours. Then, I received an invoice yesterday with the amount at 10:21. Then 3 minutes later at 10:24 I received another invoice with an additional $25 charge for cleaning. Did they not know at 10:21 the pads were not folded? Why would they send the invoice before checking inside? I called customer service and they looked at the pics and all they could see was that the pads were not folded. I do not think I should be charged the $25 since the truck was not ready. Over the last couple of years I have rented a truck three times and trailers several times. I may consider some other source next. Thank you.
