I have been a lifelong customer of Uhaul but have never had an experience like this. It was a TERRIBLE moving experience. I moved my truck rental from Vancouver to Portland as I was told verbally it was a guaranteed rental. However, when I went to pick up the truck it was not there and we waited almost 6 hours before finally having to pay someone to drive 2 hours round trip to pick up a truck in Salem. We missed out on our movers, had to scramble to find new help, they had no experience in packing a truck so I had to rent a second truck to fit everything. We were a day late getting out of the house and I also had extensive damage to antique furniture that is irreplaceable and will cost a fortune to restore, if it can even be done. I called to complain and seek a refund or compensation and finally reached a manager who was rude, unhelpful and nasty. I hope I NEVER have to use Uhaul again and will be sharing my experience with anyone who wants to hear it. No reflection on this location but I will never recommend Uhaul to anyone again.Barbara L.

I made my reservation online, checked in online, but had to do it all over again when picking up the trailer onsite. Your system was down, or something. A waste of 30 minutes in a very busy day.James B.

U Haul truck reservation number 90331125 Michele Weiss I first called on 3/15/21 to reserve a 15 ft. truck one way to Salem, Oregon. I waited on line for 9 minutes and was disconnected. Called back and wait 16 minutes before speaking to a person. The service then was good, I asked the person if I had to call and confirm before the pickup date on 3/25, he said no he guaranteed the truck would be at the Sunnyvale local (approx. 7 miles from my home). I called back on 3/18 and changed the pickup time to an earlier time. Also made arrangements for moving help, that service was good, but I have nothing but trouble getting into the program to leave a review for the 5.95 fee handling. On 3/24, I received a call 24 hours before my pick up time telling me there wasn't a 15 ft. truck available, would a 10 ft. work. No a 10 ft. wouldn't work and even though they have 12 ft. trucks showing on the website, there were no 12 ft. truck either. I was given the choice of cubes or driving to pickup truck at San Francisco, approx. 44 miles away from my home. I took the truck in San Francisco option. I called the number for San Francisco location., waited on hold for 41 minutes, and was disconnected. Called back and waited on hold for 31 minutes. I talked to Orry and explained my situation and asked him to have the location call me at or around 5pm to verify the truck would be available for pickup Thursday morning at 8am. They did not call me to verify the truck would be available. When I picked up the truck, no change was made to the mileage on the rentalâ€¦even though U Haul added 44 miles to my actual mileage. First, there is a pattern of issues with your on hold function and being disconnected. Second, your customer service is very poor with the promises of trucks, last minute changes, call backs after a serious change to the reservation, and the information on your website. I realize there can be changes to last minute reservation but I made reservations for a truck 10 days in advance and was told it would be available 7 miles away, not 44 miles away. Third, your app with check out has issuesâ€”the estimate on the fuel level was off on the truck and when we tried to change it errored out. Check out record said 3/8 level and it was closer to 1/8, another customer service issue. I respectfully request a refund of $200. (15%). The experience with your company was not up to any kind of good customer service. Please credit my credit card on file with the refund of $200.MICHELE W.
I had a much better experience picking up trucks and trailers in the past from other locations. The appliance dolly was in very poor condition. I had to load the dolly and blankets in the back of the truck, previously they have always been loaded into the truck for me.Richard B.
You return procedure using a phone when the business is closed did not work. Your website eas down. I tried to park as instructed but a se ond tru k had parked perpendicular to another truck , so I did the best I could, under the circumstances.DONNA F.

i had to drive to a location 6 miles out of the way, return it in 4 hours, then the check out process was rediculous. i will never rent a truck from them if i can. Also they charged me twice and at this point ill pay a stranger for a ride.Brittney W.

Nothing really to improve. The staff was eager to help from the beginning of the check-in process through the end of the check-out process. With everything going on in the world right now, it was a pleasure to see a company which really cares about their customers. If someone can not use the truck after picked up due to weather issues. Ice storm. They should help them out and let them rent it a different day. Change the reservation date. My storage until did not have power so I could not move. Still had to pay for the truck . Only drove to my storage and then parked the truck.Erin T.

The lady was friendly. I called to make sure they were open. When we went to drop off the GPS SAID LOCATION WAS ON THE LEFT... THERE WAS nothing but trees as we drove further (1/4) mile down the road I seen what the lady had told me on the phone for markers... we had to pass it and turn around which was dangerous! There was a sign out front that stated "We Buy RVS" as a marker and a couple of U-haul signs... U-Haul needs to get some signage out on this road before you get to, an pass the location...Warren L.
