Typical competent service at the store, I never have complaints with personnel at U-Haul but once I would like to use a truck that doesn’t have blown shocks, use quarts of oil or both. I know what I’m getting, low expectations.

Don has no business working there . He has no customer service skills what so ever . Very rude to alk the customers including my self . Had a reservation but it took 1 hour to actually get the truck . The back of the truck smelled so bad of weed I almost didn't take it . The truck is I very bad shape . At 65 mph it shakes so bad it makes the mirrors shake to the point you cant see out of them . If I need to rent a truck in the future I certainly wont be using that location or possibly uhaul ever again. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am a manager myself and if I ever spoke to a customer the way he did I would be fired immediately.

This was the WORST moving experience I have had IN MY LIFE! The 20ft truck I was given was NOT road safe and broke down less than 400 miles in to a cross-country trip... the A/C unit was questionable from the start and the transmission was racing and de-accelerating on its own, leading to the engine over-heating and us eventually pulling over at a rest stop for fear of a more complete engine failure. Add to the fact that the muffler broke off maybe 20 minutes before we pulled over... leaving us at a rest stop in the desert for 4+ hours before we got help. This breakdown and eventual truck swap cost me 2 days of travel, forcing us to drive long hours to make up for lost time as we were on a tight traveling schedule. I will NEVER rent from UHaul again (oh and add to it, this wasn't even the truck I was supposed to get... I was told at the original pick-up location that my truck was not returned and I had to drive 45 min out of my way to get this junk truck)... what a horrible joke.

Trailer was not available at the location we reserved it at. We were advised to drive one hour away to another location. We found one 45 minutes away. Inconvienced and costly. Tire straps on trailer were tangled and bound so bad that they would not release. Call U-Haul 800 number. No help.

When I picked up the van I rented, it had less than half a tank of gas. This meant that rather than setting off to my destination over seventy miles away, I had to first look for a gas station and fill up the tank. Not knowing the gas mileage on the van, I had to fill up the tank. This meant that when the van was returned, it had an extra quarter of a tank of gas in it. The van should be delivered with a *full* tank of gas when picked up. This would avoid the problems of having to fill the tank and of returning the van with excess gas in the tank. I would like to be reimbursed for the excess gas in the tank. This should be at the same rate that Uhaul charges when the van is returned with a shortage of gas. Please contact me for this reimbursement.

We reserved a 17 foot truck and a dolly, neither of which were available when we arrived for our pick-up time. They were out of dollys and there were no 17 foot trucks available. We had to wait over an hour for a 17 foot truck to get returned, the check-engine light was on, and the truck was not cleaned. I see no point in reserving a truck or additional items if they aren't even available. Uhaul needs to have a stock of trucks, etc. so they are available for those who make a reservation. The individual who checked us in was extremely helpful and apologetic, so nothing I am saying is directed towards him. My above comments are directed towards Uhaul as a company and not having items available. Try running your business with the customer in mind.

The U Haul online site was terrible. It was repetitive and confusing, at the end saying that I had reserved a trailer that I did not request and was to pick it up in a town more than 50 miles from home. I had already attempted to cancel the request and would have gone elsewhere if I had not received a phone call from a regional representative. The people at my local shop were timely and helpful.

I was disappointed because I was on a tight timeline all day and had a 7:00 am reservation to pick up the truck I reserved. I was GLAD they had the truck (as that has been a problem in the past, not at this location) but my disappointment was that they didn't arrive until 6:55 and opened the doors at 7:00 so none of the trucks were ready to be taken. I was their first customer so they did help me as soon as they could but I didn't drive out of there until 7:40 which put me behind schedule. I would think they should arrive early enough to have trucks ready to take by 7:15 or so. It was stressful to be behind schedule and it is stressful enough to be driving a big ole honkin' truck in the first place. Other than that, they were helpful at the beginning and at the end of my VERY LONG day. I would recommend them as they were personable and the equipment was in good condition. My truck smelled like an ashtray but I just opened the windows for a while!

The man at the counter was pretty rude and did not seem like he wanted my business. I went in treating him friendly and with respect, while he responded with irritation. I will not be returning to this location again.

When the store called me the day before to confirm the reservation, they indicated that the truck would be available at 3pm. And when I indicated that was not early enough, they stated I had requested that time, which I absolutely did not want to wait that long considering I was flying into town specifically to load it at 8:30 am. There was no solution offered to help me get one sooner. Then when I arrived at 3pm, the truck was not there. Luckily while they were trying to stall, someone return their truck early but it was still a 45 minute wait. During our wait, two customers had obviously issues that needed to be addressed and one customer was complimentary. We witnessed an employee get into a heated argument with one of the unhappy customers, in which he refused to provide any identifying information other than than his first name, stated he was the manager and stated the customer was putting words into his mouth. While he was decent to me, it was extremely awkward and uncomfortable to witness the interaction that occurred, and there was no offer made to compensate with product or price for the lack of timeliness and high inconvenience.

Traveled an hour away fromy city to rent a truck in Santa Rosa. Absolutely did NOT like the attitude of the person in charge of my city's U-Haul. Santa Rosa's was a much better change. Very friendly workers and quite helpful as well. Answered any questions and comforted any doubts.

Manager at this Uhaul location was nice at first but then turned rude. They were not even ready for our order of 6 Uboxes and only had 1 trailer to go back and forth. And to boot, only had 1 forklift, so when we came back to get our 2 box, there was 3 semi's waiting to be offloaded and we ended up waiting 1 1/2 hours to get our 3rd box. We ended up getting a truck, which they only had a 15 ft left and had them stage our uboxes at that back so we could load at house, then come back and unload at facility. The worst moving day for us and the poor customer. We even tried to call corporate and was placed on hold for over an hour. Ended up hanging up.

I visited this location on multiple occasions prior to my move date. Reserving my van, buying boxes and supplies etc. This place is woefully understaffed and has not customer experience etiquette whatsoever. The morning of picking up my van was a complete fiasco. Multiple people in line, one person working (Don Sheldon) who was the manager according to his name tag, totally rude to all customers, nobody's vehicles were there for pickup, just a complete cluster. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Everything was fine until my invoice was emailed to me the next day. There were 3 incorrect charges and multiple contacts to try and resolve. I was charged $10 for pads (didn’t rent any) $10 for a dolly (didn’t rent one) and an extra day fee of $24.95 (I returned the truck at 7p the same day I rented it as agreed in my contract. This is highly suspicious, I should have insisted on the gentleman checking in the truck and giving me a receipt before I left. Disputing the $49.95 with my cc company. What a pain, never had an issue with U-Haul before, likely won’t use them again unless I can get my final receipt immediately on return.
