I made a guaranteed reservation for a truck and appliance dolly. When I went to pick up my reservation I did NOT get my dolly. I was told there was a regular dolly only. I said I would take it. My husband walked towards the dolly once the paperwork was done to retrieve the regular dolly and he was then told he could NOT have it. The rental staff claimed we denied it. Our response was we would not have reserved it one if we did not need one. We were forced to find one else where using up time we really needed. Highly unhappy with our guaranteed reservation.Deborah A.

The location was not the issue we had to go to 3 uhaul places because the first one didnt get our reservation right the second place didnt have the truck we needed so we had to back track and spend more money than was planed or available to usLAYNETTE C.

The ONLY problem was the access to the truck using our smart phone. That was beyond frustrating and our friend who did this is a professional trucker! He had to copy his DL 5 times. It took almost 30 minutes to access the truck because shop was closed. The old system of sign the paper and get the key worked much better. That said, the owner of the shop was very helpful on the phone and offered assistance if we needed it. Also appreciate Uhaul finding us a truck even though we had to drive an hour round trip to pick up only available truck. We did appreciate them giving us 50 extra miles for free due to this extra drive. Thank you. Great customer service by Pro Hardware.Steven H.

The trailer was dropped off at the wrong location and then we had to drive over an hour away to pick up the trailer because no one would bring it to us. We finally got the trailer 2 hours after we were supposed to which was cutting into our packing time because we had people there to help us who were on a schedule. And on top of that the manager of the first U-haul refused to speak with us. After spending over $400 I was very unhappy.Paige M.

Apparently the fine print says I need to pick up the truck where U-Haul wants me to. This location was 30 miles away from where I reserved it to be. Since I was by myself and coming from out of town, this presented a real problem that I would liked to have known about more in advance.Edwin K.

The trailer we rented was NOT prepared to travel! There was NO back light hook up so we were unable to even use the trailer without being ticketed or fined.... YOUR FAULT!! We then had to wait over 1 1/2 hrs in order for the correct/proper light hook-up to be installed. So.... according to your advertisement, we are entitled to you $50. "refund". If not received, this would be fraudulent advertisement & a reportable offense to the consumer fraud bureau or states attorney. Ann DolanANN D.
The Tuscola location is average. This is the reason for my poor rating: I ordered this U-haul a month in advance; however, when I called to confirm the pick-up the day before I was told that the 5x8 trailer I reserved was not in Tuscola but that the closest one was in Robinson, IL - almost 2 hours away! Unacceptable. I never received a call from Uhaul to let me know that my reserved trailed wouldn't be at selected location. I had to call Uhaul because I didn't receive the day-before call I was promised. I was hauling furniture and I had to settle for an open-top trailer in Tuscola without full sides or a top to drive all the way from Central Illinois to Atlanta, Georgia. The Tuscola location did not offer us any packing materials. We had to use our own blankets, towels and rope to secure our furniture and fortunately it didn't rain. Still, it was a total customer service failure. For future moves, I will be looking for alternatives to Uhaul.ALYSSA O.

Older staff-- not comfortable with computer system. Only one person in office to assist customers with normal business and Uhaul rentals. Mom and pop location-- no moving supplies available. Had to make a special trip to Walmart for packing supplies.MCKENZI D.
So many things went wrong...where to start? First of all, with U-Haul the customer is NEVER right. U-Haul will NEVER go out of their way to help a customer. However, U-Haul WILL: Not inform you of your pick-up location until the day before your cross country move. Make you drive 30+ miles to get a truck even though there are 4 locations within 4 miles of your house. Change your pick-up time on you from 9:00am on a Friday to 12:00pm the day before. Say that since they don't have the 17' truck you requested that they will upgrade you for FREE to a 20" truck, just to turn around and try to charge you $600+ more than your quote on the day you pick up the truck. This location in particular had the WORST customer service possible. We had to wait about an hour to get the cost straightened out for our truck, fill out paper work, etc. The people here take their sweet time. When we finally had our key in hand they said we had to go two lots over to find our truck. When we did find our truck, it had a trailer attached to it and we had to call the office to have someone come unhook it...this was another 10 minute wait. This was our third cross country move and our first/LAST time using U-Haul. We wish we would've used Penske, even though it would have meant driving 2.5 hours to find a drop off location. If you have the option, use PENSKE because they have excellent customer service and you are heard as a customer.ABBY H.
