It was raining during my move and the truck had a leak that ruined some of my things. The water pooled inside the truck. Also, I was charged for three gallons of gas because it was just below the line.

The communication between your hub and the store was poor, i reserved a truck for saturday. I live 4 hours away from where i rented the truck, i leave my house at 5 in the morning and get to the location and the told me my truck wasnt ready until noon witch the lady on the phone didnt tell me i had a pick up time as i told her i wanted it for Saturday morning, i leave and call back at noon when they said my truck would be ready to make sure it was ready before i drove back down and they told me it was, i get there and of course it was not ready, i didnt leave with the truck until almost 1 in the afternoon and my day was ruined, terrible communication.

This facility is undergoing management change. I have rented here before and realize during any transition a company may not have their 100% best to offer in every aspect of operations. I found the new-ish worker behind the counter and the regional manager there, working to make the transition, were doing a very good job under their transitional situation. The regional manager did say the rental equipment will be more consistently cleaned than it has been in the past. I specifically asked for a clean van when I made my reservation. I definitely suggest making a reservation whenever you can - this helps get the equipment you want and speeds up the in-office procedure. I certainly will continue to use this facility with the expectation that any current little glitches in their service will be improved when a new manager and seasoned staff have had the opportunity to overcome those glitches.

The truck was beyond filthy inside and out. We opened the back and found big trash bag full of trash. The van smelled of marijuana. Overall this was by far my worst experience with U-Haul

I did not appreciate being charged an extra $15 for gas. My paperwork said the tank was at 1/2. After I got the truck, I noticed it was really at 3/8. I did not return to the office to point out the discrepancy, I figured I would explain upon my return. I drove the truck only 15 miles, and I showed the clerk my receipt for 2 gallons of gas which I put in the truck, bringing the gas back up to 3/8. I pointed out to the clerk that it was impossible to have used that much gas, if I only went 15 miles. He said there was nothing he could do, because the paperwork said 1/2. I am not blaming the clerk. He was perfectly appropriate, and it was a professional discussion. But I would be a much happier customer if you would give me back my $15! The rental process was quick and easy. The only suggestion i can add would be to have more promotional discounts or lower prices/mileage.

I organized my parents move from Northern California to Southern California and had problems from the moment we picked up the trucks and have continued having problems to this date. The trucks were not maintained and had only a partial tank of gas. The oil light was on and when we called they told us to buy oil and keep our receipt for a refund (is that our job?). The oil light remained on after 4 quarts of oil. 10 minutes from leaving Ukiah one of the trucks had a blow out and it took 3 hours to get the tire changed on the side of the freeway. The other tires were bald as well. Finally when the tire was changed the trucks had to have their gas tanks filled and then both trucks had terrible shocks and it was a miserable 500 mile drive. When we arrived we paid to keep the trucks for additional time because escrow was not closed on the new house and when we unload the trucks the contents in one of the trucks were wet from the recent rain which indicated that there was a leak in the roof of that truck. Then on top of all of this, they overcharged on one of the trucks and put both trucks "extra days" charge on that truck while still charging us the extra days on the other contract. I have been fighting for 3 weeks to get this overcharge refunded and have talked to 3 customer service representatives and they promise that I will get a call back or email in 72 hours which has never happened. The customer service representatives have confirmed that there is an overcharge of $560 but I absolutely have not been able to obtain any call backs. I don't usually write reviews but this service has been some of the worst customer service we have ever had and I highly recommend you do NOT use their company. I wish I would have read the Ukiah Uhaul reviews prior to renting from them. We did not have a problem in Redlands with our return and I noted that in my review of that location. However customer service for Uhaul has been less than satisfactory so if you have a problem with any location you will not have good results from this company. You should look elsewhere when you move.

Communication is very poor between sites. I was booked for a trailer and truck at your ukiah site but I had been booked over someone else on the truck and both of the car trailers there were down for repairs

I would like to see a flat rate on the rental pickup trucks for the mileage. I think the per mile rate is excessive. Hertz has the flat rate mileage on their cars but I stopped using Hertz because of not being transparent about policies and being unprofessional. Also I would rather see Ford's and not GM. Overall though everything was fine.

i rented a 10 truck. I had no problems with the people they were all great. But the truck was discussing, There was other peoples left over lunch garbage, fingernail clippings, dirt, leaves and over all dirty on the inside and so was the inside if the truck were you put your things to haul. The truck in general smelled like marijuana. The person inside said that's how all the truck smell now because that is what they are mainly being used for. The inside of the building has so much stuff that you can hardly move inside the store. AND last the check engine light came on while I was driving and I had to call the roadside repair and the store and they said that this is normal and just keep driving. If possible I would like some type of compensation. Thank you for your time

Long wait at the desk. Their printer wasn't working. Truck cab was really dirty and smelly. I tried numerous times to NOT order the $10 insurance but it kept adding back into my online order. Finally gave up. Tried to get the people at U-Haul to take it off. They said they couldn't. Won't use this UHaul location again.

In the past when I’ve rented uhaul trucks, the associate walks around the truck with me noting any damage or other issues. She did not do this on this occasion. The truck I received was filthy, caked in mud, sticky and dirty in the cab, and reeked of pot in the cargo area and cab. When I called to get a different truck I was told there weren’t any others that size or larger, but that the store manager would call me. I never received a call. I had to let the truck air out for quite some time before putting my furniture in it, therefore delaying my move. When I returned the truck and expressed my disappointment, the associate did discount my rate, but the filthy condition of the truck remains and uhaul should know what kind of product their location is renting.

I had reserved a 20’ truck, but received a telephone all a few days prior to my reserve date informing me that a 20’ truck was not available. I was offered a 15’ truck and a 6x12 trailer instead. Though I was not pleased with the situation I was pleased with the fact that the alternative was offered at a substantial discount. On the morning of my reservation the 15’ truck was ready but there was no trailer. I was informed that the nearest trailer was at a U Haul dealer an hour and a half drive away in the next county. This delayed my departure and cost me not only time but also the cost of gas to go get it. When all was said and done the truck and trailer accomplished our move, but the whole situation was very stressful.
