The pick up was quick, efficient and friendly. But .... Vehicle was parked nose in requiring backing the vehicle in to traffic to leave the pick up location. Vehicle fuel was less than indicated on the contract Vehicle had a dirty exterior but was otherwise in good condition.
Was a wonderful interaction from start to finish. The man who owns the store was extreme helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to make my experience pleasant and smooth. I will absolutely be renting from this location again, best Uhaul experience I have ever had.
I would never recommend this location to a friend or anyone. My experience was extremely horrible. This location would not let me pick up the vehicle I had booked weeks previously because the only staff on site did not know how to do her job. When I booked this trip it was for a different location (776-790 Topaz Ave Victoria, BC V8T2M1). I was notified 24 hours and 30 minutes before the booking that it had been changed, not at all an ideal situation for someone who had a detailed plan (Policy apparently indicates that it can be changed up to 24 hours prior so even this barley made UHaul's own policy). The new location was out of the way and just barley within city limits making my schedule more complicated. However, it was more upsetting when I arrived at the much farther location to a person who did not expect me and told me to go elsewhere despite my booking. I had spoken with her boss the day previous, the manager of the Streamside Grocery site, so he knew I would be there and he did not prepare his employee and then lied to us when he said over the phone that he was walking onto a flight (30 minutes later he was on the phone with UHaul again and obviously not on a plane to India). The employee who would not even try to help me with my booking sent me to another location that was unable to rent a one way UHaul. This is why I knew I had to book in advance due to the circumstances of my trip. The new location told me to go back to Streamside Grocery location and after I demanded a number he gave me Shawn's number, the head of the areas UHaul location. Shawn has extremely poor customer service skills and was rude to the point that I had to give the phone to someone else because I was crying. After a morning of feeling lied to by UHaul I was hoping he would be comforting rather than unpleasant and calling me names. At this point, I was much behind schedule, upset, and angry that I was paying a substantial amount for poor customer service and organization. Finally, they gave me the keys to the UHaul but did not ask me to sign any paper onsite, give me any information about the vehicle and policy, and the staff at Streamside Grocery took a picture of my drivers license on her personal phone which is sketchy and so unprofessional. I have booked with UHaul 3 times previously and have had only minor issues. This experience will encourage me to look elsewhere for my moving needs. I would like to say that the male staff who helped me at the drop off location, Sunnyside Self Storage, was friendly, understanding, and helpful. I hope that this complaint is taken seriously because this was a horrible moving experience and I hope no one else has to go through this.
Fast efficient service!
I was charged $100 deposit and only received $75 back, and was returned 1 day early and was told there was a late charge please follow up
Getting the trailer was great. When returning. The lady had no idea what she was doing. Almost left when the owner showed up and informed it was all done wrong. He then told me the money would go back on my card so that was great. But...a bit later I get a call saying I have to come back because the money needs to go back on my debit card via their machine. This caused me to drive out of my way again to get it fixed.
The agent at the drop off location was excellent and very friendly. The drop off went quickly with no problems.

We had to go buy a 3 PIN connection ,@ $30 for the trailer because we had a 6 PIN. This trailer had a 3 PIN connection only and for its size should have had a 6 PIN. Beside that extra expense everything was good that .
Location chosen by U-Haul was much farther away than original choice.
The employee did not know what he was doing. I did not get a printed contract as this location does not have a printer. When he attempted to email me a copy he could not get it to work and was planning on sending me on my what without a contract. I had to contact U-Haul myself to get them to email me a copy of my contract so I had one for my trip.
It would be much more helpful if I could have returned the trailer to a closer location
The attendant was very good. The location was not. We had reserved for the Topaz location pickup so this was quite a ways out of our way.

Do not go to this uhaul pick up location they are not knowlidgable or organised. Also do not give uhaul your credit card info they will charge it whenever the feel like it. I was originally told I could drop my rental off in port hardy when it came to moving day they said I couldn't I has to add 6hours of driving to my move to return the truck I was told I wouldn't have to pay for extra kilometers for the trip but got almost 400 in extra charge put on my credit card without my consent my credit card was not even uses for my rental I paid cash just used it to hold the reservation online.

The representive seemed unfamiliar with the computer system. He did not complete a walk through with me and never sited any damages that are known but not marked with the "x" sticker. The back of the truck was dirty with rocks and pebbles. The agent informed me that the rental would have to be returned by 8 pm. I asked if I could bring it after 8 pm and he informed no one would be Available and there was no key drop off box. When I returned at 7 I saw that there was a key drop off box. When returning the truck the agent did not do an inspection and asked me to take a picture of the mileage and gas tank because he didn't want to leave the store. I'm really disappointed because I required to do a second trip and was willing to pay for the additional mileage but the agent made it seem like I would not be allowed to do that. I'm really dissapointed and hope someone from customer support will contact me regarding this.

If you live in that area it would be fine but not if you have to go past two other pickup sights to get a truck after numerous confirmation calls for each sight. All employees were very pleasant to speak with but felt one call should be all that was needed.
not sure about the recommendation of the location as it was only convenient to my needs and easy to find. the representative at that location was very helpful and polite making the pickup a very positive experience. I would deal with him again...
Improve your on line reservation website. I tried at least 3 times to make my reservation on your website. After completing step 2 and clicking on next your system got hung up and booted me back to step 2. I had to phone Streamside Grocery and was told that they received my reservation. If I hadn't phoned I would have looked elsewhere to rent a truck.
i was not happy that uhaul re-directed me to the farthest location out of my town. I reserved my truck over 45 days in advance and there were plenty of trucks at the location i asked for yet i was sent outside of town.
The door of the vehicle closed but not fully. Needs fixing
