The check engine light came on shortly after I picked the truck up but there didn't seem to be any real problems. The truck was clean and ran fine. The location I picked it up was great and could handle all of your moving/towing needs. I would definitely use U-haul again.Thomas S.

I was giving the wrong truck so after I put 80 dollars worth of gas in the truck I was given and got it home to start loading, I get a call to return the truck. The manager said that the 80 dollars would be taken off of my bill. I got my bill and it wasn't taken off. I called them and the manager was busy and I was told he would call me back once he got off of the phone with an customer. I never got a call back.Laura B.

We had a blown out rear tire and ended up on the side of the road for over 3 hours during a hail storm. It was obvious this had happened to this truck before. You should not allow retread tires to be placed on your trucks. They are a safety hazard. The blown tire ended up in the middle of highway 264, a major 4 lane that is 70 miles per hour. Other vehicles had to avoid the blown tire and came close to us on the side of the road causing an extremely dangerous situation. Again, all of this during the middle of a hail storm. Your equipment should be checked better and you should have a higher standard in place for what is allowed on your vehicles. It wasn't so much the inconvenience of the 3 hours, but between the tread coming off and damaging the tailpipe and blowing out a piece of the side of the truck, it felt as if we'd lose control of the truck and were going to be hit by another vehicle. I'm just glad we weren't hurt physically. I also think it's a shame you have to pay $5 to receive roadside service when you are using substandard equipment on your vehicles such as retread tires. Then when I checked out the next day, I was making sure the staff was aware of what happened and that there were damages to the vehicle. I let them know it needed repairs before being rented again because the tailpipe had damage. I was then told I wouldn't have to pay for any damages because I had the insurance. YOUR neglect, lack of care for YOUR equipment, and use of substandard equipment caused the damage. Why would I even be questioned for such damages? That was an insult! I saw my life flash before my eyes the night before and they want to tell me I'm not liable for damages because of your neglect! You can and should do better than this Uhaul.SONJA W.

The drop off location in Winterville NC was a great experience. There were signs directing me to where the truck needed to be for return. The staff was prompt and friendly. I was in and out in 4 minutes!! I received my receipt via email immediately. I will definitely use this facility in the future.Shannon M.
Uhaul reserved a trailer for me in Greenville, NC that don't have trailers. Luckily U-Haul on Memorial drive had one that I could rent. I reserved the trailer in Greensboro, NC. U-Haul need to do a better job when reserving their equipment.RICHARD C.

Three major reflections that I will share with everyone I know: 1) The workers at this location were great. Very helpful and very friendly. No question. This is why I rated the "location" above average. 2) The 26 ft enclosed truck has basically zero warnings or cushions when you climb in the cab. Everyone who got in the Cab hit their head hard on the overhead compartment when you step up on the 2nd step. The MUST be a cushion put there. 3) I rented when the East coast had a severe gas shortage for more than a week. I was concerned the rental truck would not have enough fuel for my 80 or so miles I needed to drive to move my home and nearly all the gas stations had no fuel.. I call U-Haul ahead of my rental period and the associate said there is no way to control how much fuel would be in the truck. When I arrived, it had 1/4 tank which I believed would not be enough. I was very fortunate to find a Gas station that had fuel so I put over $70 of fuel in it...not knowing the actual mpg the truck got. I thought I if I went over, I would be refunded. THAT did not happen. I returned it with 1/2 a tank, took pictures for proof, etc...expecting a refund for ~15 gallons (x $2.99) which is about $45. Taylor, I assume was the store manager and nicely said we don't current refund for fuel overages. That is a terrible lack of oversite of company policy. So not knowing the mpg or the exact mileage I required, I buy a little more to have a buffer and U-Haul just takes it??? That really sucks and I will be letting as many people as possible know it was a lack of U-Haul policy that took $45 from me with no warning. I'm sure I will have to use U-Haul again someday in the future...but I'll bring the damn thing back on fumes as I will "calculate" exactly what I need....and that will royally piss off your next Customer...if they can make it to the gas station.
