The young lady that did my contract did not remind me that I would get a text asking me to complete the pick up inspection of the rental truck. I did take pictures of the truck before driving off the lot but didn't see the text until I was home.

I have to say that my experience went well and very transparent. All process and charges explained in detail and assisted me with grace and professionalism from the beginning to the time of drop off. Highley recommend this location.

WILLIAM WWe were moving my son and had requested a truck and tow dolly at an actual U-haul facility a mile away and was confirmed they had the equipment. Then an hour before we were told we had to go to Golfcrest Hardware instead. We had movers line up and wasn't sure if we could make it back in time. We also were concerned about the tow dolly for our car. We watched the videos that we were told watch but asked if someone could help us. They "helped us" but when I asked about the chains they said oh you are missing a grommet so you can use that chain. They helped to put the netting over the tire but it wasn't latched down with the ratchet and after we had driven for about 5 hours we stopped and the netting over the tires was off and one was under the tire. We put the one on the passenger side back on and got to Texarkana and spent the night and went to an actual U-haul shop and Laura was able to help us. We couldn't get our car off the dolly because the battery was dead because the video said the car had to be in neutral but the type of car we have doesn't shut off unless we have it in park which we found out later we could keep the car in park and it would go down the road. We weren't able to jump the car in order to get the car off the tow dolly so we had to keep trying to pull and pull the strap out from under the driver's side tire and we eventually were able to get it out. Laura was able to help us with the nets around the tire and said that we could use the chains without the rubber grommet but she did put one on for us. (Had we not had that one chain on the car we could have had a real issue and would have lost our car) That was my whole point in going to an actual U-haul dealer so they could help us and ensure we had the car on the tow dolly correctly. We were so grateful for Laura and her help and knowledge.

LINDA BWhen I rented the truck I advised the clerk that the truck was dirty and not to charge me please she confirmed that I let her know and I left I only run to the truck for 2 to 3 hours to move three pieces of furniture when I return the truck a few hours later The lady said there was nobody there to receive the truck so she just asked for the keys. I reminded her that the truck was dirty and told her that I filled it up to a quarter tank as I was instructed to. The very next day I received the receipt for the U-Haul rental and they charge me fuel and for the dirty truck. It was very simple to confirm that the fuel level was where it needed to be. They flat out lied and said it had half of a quarter tank I went over there and had to confirm the fuel with the manager Harry what's his name. Harry said that he apologized and that he would return my money but it shouldn't take me to have to go over there and waste my time doing his job. Furthermore hairy isn't trained on the u-Haul system you don't know how to process a return money. He depends on somebody to show up and returns and he takes poor care of the U-Haul equipment because the other trucks that were there were also filthy. I always rent from U-Haul as you can see in my record but Harry takes the cake

Kendell FThe trailer was filthy, the brake lights and turn signals didn't work, I was driving it across the state and was hit with late fees after like two days, everything was below par. I never got a printed copy of my contact and the representative who called me and told me where to drop off told me that my requested drop off date was fine, amended it on my contract and never said there would be a fee increase. Bad overall. Would not recommend.

Harold RAvoid renting U-Haul from this place. It will scheme and take your money like its in a third-world country. I rented a fifteen foot moving truck from here to help a friend move, returned it eight hours later, after hours, and dropped the key in the night drop box, as instructed by the store personnel for after-hours returns. It could not have been a more straightforward and issue-free rental transaction. Then, three days later, this store charged an additional $99,65 to my credit card, with no apparent reason, on top of the full and proper amount I had already paid. Upon inquiry, I was informed by the store manager that I had NOT returned the truck eight hours later but had kept it for three days; that the truck was absent from his lot for three days, that his system and records COULD NOT BE WRONG, and that HE WOULD NOT REFUND THE $99,65 This is ludicrous when the truck was absolutely returned to the store lot eight hours later that any video surveillance would confirm, and when his system, or any system, can be wrong that rely on human input of observed facts, as a rental/return operation obviously does. This store simply conjured up facts to charge an additional $100 to a customer's credit card number to exploit the situation and then takes the position to force the customer to have to fight hard to get it back, resting on the belief they are too busy or too tired to follow through. I cannot be the only customer this happens to at this store given the simple and routine nature of my rental and my 100 % compliance with renter return obligations, but I will be one to fight it. . AVOID RENTING FROM GOLFCREST HARDWARE LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Aurora RYour company can improve by first making sure the quote given when placing the reservation is the same when picking up rental, because I was given the amount I needed to provide when arriving for pick up but it was more expensive once I actually was in person and that is false advertising.

omar fNot really clearly designated WHERE to return the truck. A staff member saw us pull into the the lot with the Uhaul "Moving?" sign and one other Uhaul truck, but was more interested in locking the gate to the nearby entrance. No one waited to make sure we were straight, to advise if we were in the right place. The business was literally closed within the 15 minutes it took to complete the online check-in.

Gerardo HI am not sure of workers name , he is a bit on the heavy side , going bald , with short hair .. Well he is so rude ! First of all , he doesn't greet everyone coming in , he doesn't smile at all , he has little patience , seems to be in a bad mood and like he wishes he was somewhere else than at work helping customers .. He is not someone you want to ask a question to , talk to or even be attended by him! I heard when he answered the phone to a customer and he is just not polite and blunt with an attitude! Would not rent Uhaul from there ever again .. And obviously would recommend others to just go somewhere else .. The other workers seem nice , polite , and some even very knowledgeable about what is in the store and are so helpful!! Plus Uhaul van given to me the door handle in driver side was defected and would open! As in i had to climb from passenger side to slide on down to driver side! When i wsnt in and told them the problem before i took it the chunky guy "so what do u want? Are u not gonna take it? Bc i can refund you ur money and u go somewhere else!" So f*in rude i swear! I couldn't go nowhere else bc i was running on a time limit and plus i had scheduled this a day before .. Just NO !

Sonia PWhile UHaul is a very reputable organization, their independent authorized dealer, Golfcrest True Value Hardware, 5206 Telephone Rd., Houston, Texas 77087 is horrible at customer service. I did everything subscribed for a customer from reserving the truck to confirming on line. When I arrived, I still had to go through the check-in process and the owner was very rude. When I told him that I had confirmed check-in online that I wouldn't have to be in the store long, he said, "If you don't want to wait, you can go somewhere else". How rude. If I could have waited another day, I would have gone somewhere else. I will never patronize that location again.

ROBERTO SI was charged for the dolly that I did not use. The dealer claimed that the tag was cut or broke. They admitted dolly was still standing. If the tag and integral strap were cut, that dolly would fall over.

anthony rOVER CHARGE - Rented car trailer for one day and returned same day $49. Gulfcrest submitted to Uhual 7 days rental for an additional $300.. When I received my credit card statement, I called Gulfcrest, they said it was a mistake and would correct it, they did not, I kept calling for 45 days but they did nothing. I finally contacted Uhaul corporate, they corrected my billing and credited my credit card. Go to an honest dealer.

I didn't have time to argue . this cost me an extra $300 plus additional fuel over the 1400 mile trip. this should not be a U-Haul location

I left my car in the parking when I returned the Uhaul back to pick up my car i found the gate clossed and I couldn't get out my car. I have to call a taxi. I was so mad I have to call out from work. Was my bad experience ever.
