Took me an hour to sign in to U-Haul, it kept sending me back to the start of the process online. I was charged an extra $30, I signed up for the drop off that was in Corvallis rather than Lebanon for the option of paying $90 instead of $120, I was still charged $120 even though I dropped it off at that location, and was charged the $23 for gas as well, which I expected, but I should have been charged $30 less.

I was moving my son from out of state and needed to picku up a U-Haul truck to get his stuff from storage and move it to his new appt. In order to get validated it needed my passport which I wasn't alerted to. This could have been done when I made the reservation rather than when I picked up the truck. Then, we needed to have 3 people that could be called. It would have been helpful to do this in advance. On moving day, things are frenetic and this did not help and could have been avoided. I ended up just going through the U-Haul person on-site.

Art H.The first issue was with the 24/7 service. It required two contacts after I submitted my license. It took about 20 minutes to get it approved. The second issue is I received a warning after Galway to my destination that the gas tank cap was loose. When I looked at the warning I realized the gas tank was on empty. It appeared someone has siphoned the gas. I had to call roadside assistance to come and fill the gas tank. The roadside assistance took over an hour to show up. Someone called me from HP Petroleum and said this happens all the time at this location and they were sorry they didn't check the gas tank before I drove off. Luckily I made it to the first destination but this made our day super stressful.

I took a picture of the gas gauge before I left in the parking lot. I drove around 7 miles in town, put gas in the car to bring it back to a 1/4 tank, and then was told by the employee that the computer said it needed to be 3/8 tank and I should just go put more gas in. He was trying to charge me $25 extra for not putting enough gas in the vehicle. Luckily I had the time stamped picture. I won't be renting from this location again. I rent trucks about once a month. The location in Glenwood, OR is excellent.

Every single step of the process was inefficient, and I ended up running extremely late because I didn't factor pick up taking 45+ minutes!

Unfortunately, although I asked for in person service, I was switched last minute to automated because they did not have a Uhaul rep at this site when we arrived to pick up the truck. The app didn't work and we had to call the 800 # 3 times before we finally were able to check out the truck and the people there, while friendly, could do nothing to help up. The pick up process took nearly an hour. When we came to drop it back off a Uhaul rep was there and it went very fast and smooth. Automated service doesn't make it easier for the consumer - it just helps the company save a buck!

Completely still packaged because no was there when i got the uhaul we held them. and still had to pAy 20$ What should of been 89$ was 145$ also due to charging me gas after i filled the tank! Horrible small location!

There was nobody at this location that could help with the process. The inside of the truck was clean enough, but the windshield was covered in bugs. Also, the pick-up location was changed. I was told that I was sent an email about the change. I looked through all my emails and didn't see it. I received an email, 8 hours later (already in the road after packing) advising me of the location change.

It wouldn't allow me to log in when I repeatedly hit the sign in button so I had to resort to my web browser. Then setting up 2 additional contacts!? That was ridiculous. Now I've got to make last minute phone calls to people & tell them U-Haul needs to call them for some unnecessary reason just so I can get the keys to the truck I reserved. What was the purpose of that? Why can't I just show my ID to an employee, get the keys & be on my way? My reservation was for 1:30pm & I didn't leave with the keys until about 2pm by the time I finished jumping through all those ridiculous hoops. Then when I went to return the truck there was nowhere to park it. I had to wait around another 20 minutes just to get the thing parked & take a picture of it parked so I could once again be on my way. Never had a problem with U-Haul prior to this new self checkout experience.

Therefore I didn't get any receipt or even a call to confirm they completed all the return on their end.

Every time we were promoted through, UHaul would direct us to get assistance from the facility which is a gas station attendant who isn't allowed to do anything but hand the keys over once everything is confirmed through UHaul. After spending an hour on the phone, someone finally manually dispatched the truck. It was the wrong truck, with significantly more mileage which they then tried to charge us for ever after having submitted emails because the app/website doesn't work! Worst experience ever.
