U-Haul is obviously a secondary business concern. The office was a mess. We had to wait quite a while for them to gather up all the shipping pads we ordered. What really irritated me wasn't anything to do with J&R. It was the fact that I reserved the truck almost two weeks in advance, to be picked up in my town of Derby KS. The day I needed to pick up the truck, U haul sends me a text telling me I have to drive to Haysville to get the truck. So U haul couldn't manage to get the equipment I ordered to the location I requested and instead made me change my plans and my schedule to accommodate your inability to provide me the service I ordered.

Christopher RameyI got to the location when there had been snow. I went to get my trailer and there were no problems as far he was concerned on after he had to reboot systems due a power disconnection. I given instructions how to use the trailer and he ensured that everything worked.

Harry BolzerI have rented many U-Haul‘s over the years… Always been a great experience… But for some reason this time… It was horrible… There’s a location in Haysville Kansas… Showed up to pick up my U-Haul… Nobody was there… They finally showed up… U-Haul was very very dirty I could not see out of the windshield… I asked could you please clean the windshield so I can drive away… They said oh no I have no time for that… They had to leave on another job… Anyway I won’t be using U-Haul again
Brian CliffordAccidentally clicking on the wrong times needed and than calling within 30 min later realizing your mistake costs u an additional 60. Tripling gas prices if you don't refill yourself. Disgusting abusive prices. Just a disgusting company all around. You're lucky you have no competition.
JAMES NGUYENThe guy was nice but he is more into his towing company (which is fine) than he is when he has a reservation. I was told "Well, I might be there. And the computer might / might not work so...you might not get the truck." He really has no business running UHaul on the side. I went to another place and they also told me "He's never there." Luckily, he was able to get me the truck I reserved, but I think that was from the Grace of God that that happened.

Justin WallaceWe were met by the field manager who happened to be there and he handled all the check in details for us. I do t remember his name, but he was very nice and friendly.
Fred HaddI ordered moving dollies. It was critical to my move. They were not provided. When I reached out to uhaul they were of little to no help. I had to use an outside service to move my belongings. I was out of pocket for the uhaul and the company I had to utilize because of the failure to provide the items I requested. It was a mess, the customer service was terrible and I ended up paying for a truck I couldn't use because of their negligence.
David HartlineStop overcharging people for crap equipment. The owner of this location had to repair the wiring of the trailer twice. He even came out around 10pm, when closed, to repair the wiring because the trailer lights did not work when we were ready to depart for our trip. In addition because of the delays and stress I had to put my service dog down because of the stress of the delays on her. Y this man went above and beyond to help us while corporate onky cares about a bottom line.

marquis jonesThe windshield was covered with bird poop...not fresh but weeks maybe 100's of miles old. Had to get gas immediately could not just take off. Was told I had to pick up earlier than I requested due to the uhaul dealer would not be open on the day I was scheduled. I was told to pick up Blue Sky in Derby Kansas when in fact I needed to pick up in Haysville Kansas. I ran all over trying to get this truck earlier than I needed it. Then uhaul tried to charge me for returning late (my original pick up time). Made a stressful time more stressful. Not a great business model.

Larry BelcherThe dealer didn't even know about the rental until we called to confirm the day before. He had no furniture pads, so my friends ended up going to 2 more uhaul corporate stores to find enough. Even though I specifically told the first dealer that I had a 10 am appt with my real estate broker, that is the time he set for me to pick up. When I explained again, he said something like well, call me when you get there and then I can come by the office. I had no confidence in anything that he said, so some friends picked up for me.

Mark AffolterThe guy who knew how to do the paperwork was over 45 minutes late to my 9:00 reservation. He was friendly once he arrived but that caused a significant delay in my schedule. Maybe find some way to notify/remind the location so they can have someone ready to go at the time of the reservation.

I called the number posted on the building and he sounded annoyed that I had him drive back for my scheduled pickup time. The office area is cramped with supplies so there's no sitting area. When asked how I would return it since they were closed he said I will just disconnect in the parking area and he would check the camera at his convenience. I would discourage anyone from going here for UHaul needs.

Peter BrennerWe dropped the Truck off and no one was there. I took many pictures to prove what time, date and location we dropped off at. I felt uneasy just leaving it with keys in the drop box during hours it stated it was open. It took me two calls to U-Haul to get our truck marked as returned. We returned it 21 hours before it's due date and I heard back, after I called, 6 days later. U-Haul called me in between those times looking for the truck we had dropped off. I felt panicked and nervous not knowing if our truck was actually returned or not. I think communication could have been much better. I would have marked poor for my overall rating, but I understand that there could have been things out of the control of J&R Towing going on.

After calling to find someone to come get my trailer for me, I had to wait over 20 min for the guy to show up. Makes no sense that no one was there when I arrived.

Kevin ObermeyerThe U-haul program was very slow at the site, otherwise I would have given it a 5-star. It was so slow he couldn't get the payment processed in 30 minutes, at which time U-haul wipes my reservation and he had to start the entire process over. Trailer worked great though.
Alex MeischUpon arriving to pickup my U-Haul I had to wait several minutes while the employees finished taking some kind of test for their CDL on their phone. The U-Haul itself was gross, the cigarette tray was full of ashes and cigarette butts. The U-Haul was in need of alignment and the front tires were in poor condition, the tread on the outside of each tire was almost completely gone.
Ashley KlinglesmithI live in Iowa and I rented a trailer in Haysville Kansas. The location I picked the trailer up only stayed open until 1:00pm. As i said, I was coming from Iowa, which is a 7 hour trip, so we left at 4a.m., to make sure we would get there before the guy closed his shop. We arrived there at 11:00,, there was no one there. So I called the guy who owned the business, and he said he had an emergency towing situation and that he would be back within 20 minutes.....it was over a hour before he finally showed up! After driving 7 hours, we were very upset to say the least! I would not recommend the uhaul location in Haysville, Kansas to anyone nor will I ever use uhaul again

Brandon EdwardsThe place was closed when got there, he had an emergency tow and it took an hour before he was back to get us the truck we rented. I'd never use that location again as there wasn't any back up to still get our truck if the owner gets called away for a towing job. We were set back an hour behind schedule and it was remote and hot outside with no real idea of when the owner would be back so we couldn't leave or let our car run to stay cool. It was an unpleasant experience.
Randy HillWe had an appointment and they were locked up. U haul called them and they said they were sitting @ the business which was a lie. They were not there. I waited an hour and finally left! eventually was able to locate them on the phone and make another appointment to pick up trailer.

NICHOLAS GERDESThere is a sign posted that the Uhaul rental was open. They were closed. I had to call the number listed on the paperwork to inquire how to finalize the return. The representative told me that they are only there for emergencies and he would complete the process shortly. I did not feel comfortable leaving without the truck returned in the system. He recommended to complete the online check in. The online system would not recognize my password. Pretty frustrating.

Jim HigginsNot good customer service. Called me and didn't introduce himself, he said "hey I'm here and waiting on you." Horrible customer service. No english packets available, only Spanish. Rented truck at 1200 and returned it 1730 same day. He put in the computer as a return of 1300 the next day which automatically charges two days. Waste of my time to try and call around to get money back. Wouldn't recommend.
