Have the trucks full of gas at pickup
Mark TruncaleAlways a great experience with North 87 U-Haul. Always friendly and help with any needs you have. I have rented U-Haul equipment from several locations and North 87 U-Haul is by far the best out of all the others.

Joe HudsonIt was not the facility we had issues with, it was the UHAUL 1800 number personnel. The individual I contacted to return the truck was non cooperative. First she refused to talk to me because I was not on the contract even though I paid for it with a cc. She refused to tell me where to drop it for same reason, so we dropped it at the location we knew of. And low and behold who knew there was another drop location another 2 miles out of our way. Yep we went over miles by 6 after passing a location 6 miles earlier. Too confusing. I should have not paid the extra. But it's done and hopefully I will not have to use them again. People have forgotten how to communicate!

Van ChoateI rented the truck for two days and apparently when you return the vehicle a day early you still don't get the rest of your money back. I've used uhaul for 40 years to move any one of my friends and family. But never again. For me to call the rental shop that I picked up from and delivered it back to the same place. The rental agent at this site. Was very rude. I've never had such poor service at a uhaul rental site. I had to count and put my pads in a pile brand new still in the plastic. Get my own furniture dolly. They didn't help load the 30 pads I rented. Had to load my own dolly. When I returned the truck a day early I had to do the check in on my phone. It took me a bit to complete but I did everything that needed doing. When I called on Monday morning the same jerk that sits on his butt and has his helper pull the truck out front is all the helper did to assist. And the jerk behind the desk well he never moved. Very poor service and rude person in its self. I have used uhaul 40 years and have never had as poor service and snappy smart but Mr. Dealer you are a disgrace to uhaul Corp. And need help very much so in customer service and care. Further more your a disgrace to the uhaul brand and name. It would be great if uhaul could pick up after a departure with you

Martha TrahanBooked truck on July 27 was supposed to pick up at 7 am close to my house and even had confirmation number telling me to pick up at that location. Went to pick up truck and it wasn't there called customer service they said would give me a 50 dollar credit for my inconvenience and my truck would be there by 9:30 to come back. Went back again truck still not there by this time office is open and they informed me they don't keep trucks at that location and called around for me to find that my truck was at a different location way away from my house that I had to pay mileage for picking it up and bringing back way away from me . Spent half the morning running around looking for my truck that I had reserved for the pick up that it showed and no truck !!! Wasted my morning and my time and money !!
Corey BryceIts hard to rate a location that was closed. We just did some things on our phones and opened a lock box to rent thew truck. The owners of N. Hwy 87 are really great people but i don't think that had nothing to do with our rental experience. We made reservations several days prior to our trip. When we got to the original location they said they didn't have any truck for us and acted surprised that we even asked. They could do nothing else after that to even help us figure out where to rent a truck. We were out of state with no way of moving our stuff and no expectation of help from the pick up location (not uhaul)! I called the help line number and got the run around...transferred to the wrong location several times with 20-30 minute wait each and every time! Several hours of holding and transferring and explaining out problem to each u haul person was exhausting. We ended up just renting with an un personal u haul app over my phone. It went smoothly enough as there was no person to mess it up. To know that we had to spend almost $1000 with a company that couldn't honor our reservation almost sent me over the edge. Pathetic

JOHN WEBBThe rates need to be changed to minimum of one day instead of two days. I only needed the trailer for not even a full day but yet got charged for two days. Last year I rented one for one day and now they say it's a two day minimum.

Rosaisella SanchezGarfield, their orange cat, is a friendly UHaul Ambassador. (The employees are as well!) I just needed to rent an appliance dolly but I was treated as if I was a VIP. I would definitely return for my UHaul needs.
Celeste WilliamsNorth 87 Auto has always been a great place to rent trailers. We originally chose another place to return a trailer, but no one was there when we arrived and they never returned our call. So we called North 87 Auto and everything was great.
John BlankeWith No Fault of North 87 Auto the transport that I rent was listed as stolen by the Houston Police dept. I was pulled over on Interstate 10 outside of Beaumont TX and was detained for over an hour on the side of the road. I originally was told I, my truck and the transport where being arrested, after a little convincing that the transport was actually rented they only impounded the transport.

Terry Raythe unit was dirty on the inside when we picked it up. Then they put a drop off location that was not in service any longer. We spent 30+ mins driving up and down Nederland ave to try and locate the place to drop it off and then when we found it they said they don't take them any longer. We were on hold for 20+mins trying to get the equipment drop off location changed. We should not have had to do this at all. They did not offer us any discounts for this mess up and then charged us $9,68 for going over the miles. Which is really bullshit.

Kent DucoteOver all experience was good. Had a little confusion on the rental originally. I had reserved a 15 ft truck but never received email or phone call on where to pick truck up at. But problem was solved pretty quick. Wound up with a 26ft truck.

lathen plattTo begin, it would have been more convenient and appreciated to have been able to pick up the equipment at the original, agreed upon, pick up location. This was not the case. I Scheduled pick up on May 7th to be picked up on May 29th in Lake Charles, Louisiana. On Friday, the 25th I went to the location and was told the trailer I would be renting would be in by the weekend. By Monday it was still not in but I received a confirmation text that it would be in by 10 A.M. on Tuesday the 29th. On the 29th, at 9:30 A.M. I went to the facility to see if it was close to being available and was told they did not, and would not have one available. And then was informed that there was not even one at all in Lake Charles, La. I was sent to another location, 50 miles west, in Texas, with no valid phone number for the facility to get the equipment. However, it was not there either. I called again and was send another few miles down the road where another dealer did have one available. The cost turned out to be $20 more than I was told it would be when I made reservations three weeks prior in the town I was leaving from and this was before the added expense of traveling to find the equipment I thought I reserved more than three weeks prior. Moving is already a relatively stressful time and this experience, to say the least, compounded frustrations and stress considerably.
shane bakerThe truck had a leak, and it is not supposed to be water proof but the rain we had was nothing more than a sprinkle. Because of this a whole box of religious teaching books were rendered unusable. The truck only had a little under 11 miles so it should be a little more water tight than it was. Disappointed in this vehicle after the previous two had no problem,. The loss to us for our books was aboout $90.00. We did purchase the insurance but whether that covers this type of loss I don't know.
ANTHONY PENDELTONMidway through renting they charged my card over $400 for another 10 days of rental. After returning it a handful of days later, I have not gotten a credit back on my card. I've called the location multiple times and call the 1 800 multiple times I can't get anyone on the phone that can help me. I'd love to leave this review after waiting on hold for 30 minutes trying to talk to somebody to get a refund.

Rodney DuBoseMy wife dropped off the truck and the guy taking the truck back was extremely rude to her, which I don't appreciate. And when she questioned him on us supposedly not putting enough gas back in it she was told "Look lady. If you have any more complaints call 1-800-UHAUL."
becky BookThey were closed when we dropped off. The receipt received via email said we returned it with a 1/2 tank. There was 3/4. We took a picture just in case. We were told there is no reimbursement for leaving more gas than what it had when we picked it up which was nearly 1/2. Then why do you get charged when you don't put enough? Double standard and someone is making a lot of money.

Barbara PhillipsThe experience was overall good. I answered the question regarding the equipment being clean and maintained as "no" because only one trailer light was working. This is a consistent issue with uhaul equipment. The last time I rented, the same issue was present. Perhaps a maintenance checklist needs to be developed specifically regarding lights. Otherwise the experience was okay.
